I am ordering my third appliance with Salemi Appliance. The first was a GE oven in 2020 or 2021, then a Maytag washer in 2024ish, then an LG microwave to be delivered in a few days. Their salespeople are knowledgable of their products and ask me lots of preemptive questions to prevent 'uh oh' moments during install. They are courteous, fast, and reliable. Went shopping for a new gas range in Nov 2020. Had heard that Salemi was a place to check out for higher end appliances. While they may carry high end appliances, the experience after they deliver does not live up to expectations at all. Two years and 17 days after delivery (17 days after warranty ended) the oven stopped heating and you could smell a light smell of natural gas when trying to heat the oven. Called for service and specifically asked about warranty coverage since the warranty was so close and we were told absolutely not that this manufacturer would not budge. So a repair tech came out and after a $275 repair ($75-part and $200-labor), the oven was working again. Fast forward two years and three months and we are having the exact same issues again. We call and our treatment was less than professional (they thought they hung up on us, but they had not and we could hear them laughing about it oven the open line. Asked about a courtesy repair or manufacturer good will and again were told they don't do that. We asked to speak to the owner and was told he was out sick and wouldn't be in for a couple of days. While waiting for a call (someone did call back but I doubt it was the owner although they claimed to be) we took it upon ourselves to call the manufacturer ourselves and wow what a difference. Once I explained the timeline(s) of failures and repair, the woman (Vicki) explained that the retailor should have called them because typically a repair needed so close to warranty end is covered out of courtesy to the buyer. After taking a little time (2 weeks) to get an out out of warranty repair approved by the manufacturer for a parts and labor repair at no charge. A 3rd party repair company came out (we specifically asked that Salemi not be sent as we were so unhappy). Repair guy came out and repaired the oven and indicated that when the Salemi repair tech replaced the ignitor they had used the wrong wire and that had contributed to the second failure. We'll never buy anything from Salemi and will stick to the big box stores since price, delivery, installation and warranty are less expensive and the customer service is generally much better. read more

Bought a Electrolux fridge 3 y ago from Salemi. . Had electrical problem recently, maybe a power surg? Out of warrantee. Salemi Service guy said need parts but they are not available . I called Electrolux and ordered from manufacture and had service come out to install. Service guy found I needEd another part. Same serviceman badly scratched up our floor. When the next part came in I had to call to inquire about it. I told salesman about our floor and texted photos . Salesman told me when this part comes in it will be installed without further charge. After waiting 8 days I called about the part and I left a message on owners voice mail. Next day the owner told me off over the phone saying the situation was out of control and I would need to get service elsewhere. This company is unprofessional at every level. Waited 5 weeks and spent over $500 to be dressed down by the owner. I asked for a refund for service calls and owner said "no warrantee on service" As for my damaged floor owner said,to the effect, we don't care about that. Years ago Salemi was good. The Good: decent selection of high end appliances. Good service when we placed our order The BAD: from delivery on, that's when our troubles began. Our Delivery guys show up two hours earlier than expected. When they arrived and came into the house, they smelled of pot. They unloaded the stove, dropped one of the ceramic griddles on the driveway and broke it. No big deal as Salemi replaced that very quickly. They quickly left this expensive oven in the middle of my kitchen floor covered in dirty fingerprints and partially peeled off plastic, I expected better for such a high-end appliance store. Called our sales person to complain and he argued with me that the delivery team was great usually. We asked to have our delivery fee returned and he said he had to ask the owner. The owner called back and offered us nothing but that he would help us order another $5000 ventilation hood. No thanks. We took our business elsewhere. I purchased a Samsung refrigerator with automatic ice maker from Salemi's in 2018. The ice maker broke down in just a few months Salemi's did come out and serviced it and it did work for a short period of time but broke down again. They came again on a service call and then quoted me almost $500 to fix it. The rude service guys asked if I knew how to read when I didn't have a setting right. I called Mr. Salemi and he became rude and angry when I told him I expected the ice maker be made right. I have another issue with the refrigerator and call a competitor of Salemi's they said to call Samsung direct and they would repair my icemaker for no charge. Samsung is standing behind their product for no charge and Salemi's could have informed me of that 4 years ago. I suggest buying appliances anywhere else but at Salemi's. read more

This place has gone down hill. It used to be that you would go here for their service. It was nice to support a family run business but the time has come for Vincent to step away and let the next generation step in and take over. Vincent is hurting the business and driving long time customers away with his rude and condescending behavior! I called for two reasons. We purchased a very expensive stove a month ago and it wasn't installed properly and need someone to come out and fix it. We were promised at time of sale they would do this for us. Vincent was so rude to me, I never even got to ask about coming it to look at new Washer and Dryer and I never will! They will never see another penny from our family! Purchased a fridge which was delivered and the delivery drivers did not correctly close off water which caused huge leak. The gasket broke on freezer 1 month after purchasing. The gasket broke on fridge shortly after. Took 2 months for part and when arrived wrong color. It needed to be replaced to use. About 6 months later- same issue and they will not repair since I had fridge one year. Clearly a lemon! read more

Don't even think about it. Once upon a time you would shop here for their high end appliances AND in house service. Okay, as of March 2020 this store has almost 0 service, nada, none. They might do you a favor and put you on a waiting list which is not exactly what you want or need when your refrigerator, washing machine or dish washer is out. They have no qualified technicians that can actually service you in a timely framework, but they do offer recommendations for outside companies. But here so can I, Family Appliance. That's all you need to know. The appliances themselves can be purchased at PC RICHARDS, like we did, or a number of other places not too far down the road in CT. The owner of this small business has an attitude as if he's doing you a favor by getting on the phone. We have spent thousands of dollars over the years but that gets you the same sharp attitude and absolutely no additional preferred customer courtesy when you need service. Parts are as expensive if not more so from him than elsewhere. Do not think for a minute that purchasing a high end appliance gets you special care and a higher level of service because it does not. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, buy what you want from a store that still offers service or plan to to get it serviced from someone else. read more

Worst experience of my adult life. Misordered an appliance and failed to even attempt to rectify the situation. For months was told there was no date in sight for the delivery of my appliance, however when I went in to see them was finally told the appliance was on "pause" and probably wouldnt be made. Finally asked for a refund and two weeks later called because the check didn't come in the mail. Was told it hadn't been mailed out. Had to go in person to ensure my refund came through. I've bought from a big box store and a local compety, when you need a part or have questions they don't have any time for you. You don't too often hear me complain about businesses or people but Salemi Appliance in Springfield is really not a good place to do business. I assume that it was the owner right from the start he was giving me a hard time telling me that I was wrong because my oven didn't hae a serial number where he said it was. I looked online to find where it was but couldn't locate it So I brought the part that I needed in with me. I needed a new element for the oven and then he stood there and told me there's too many different kinds to know what it is and then he takes a pencil, and he finds the part number right away on the part but yet he's telling me that he couldn't tell what it was. Then he looked it up and he said it would take a few days to get it. They didn't stock it. I'm OK with that and he told me it was $95. I had looked it up online and I was finding them for around $40. So I asked him how come so much then he got real argumentative with me and I told him that I found them online. Look it up now he just the guy constantly wanted to argue with me. I was trying to do business with the guy, but I wasn't about to get ripped off and he told me I couldn't get one for the price that I told him he was right I have to admit instead of $40 I paid $24 for it. I got t it works great and it's the exact part number I wanted so I'm just letting you people know be careful of that guy he's way overpriced and he's not pleasant to do business with. read more

I am extremely disappointed in the service experience I just received from Salemi - 11 years ago they outfitted a new kitchen for us with over $20k in new appliances. Recently, our Sub Zero Freezer unit failed. I started calling last Thursday - and called every day since. Each day the woman who answered promised either she or a service rep would call to arrange an appt. Each day the call never came. Today my wife called and the woman shared with my wife that she had called us back to tell us to use Family Appliance - as Salemi was too busy. We never got that call. I called Family Appliance and have an appointment to fix my freezer within 48 hours. I usually don't take the time to complain - but if you are prepared to support a local business for their commitment to 'local service' and they fail day after day - not a good experience for anyone looking to buy higher end appliances. read more

Spoke to the owner of Salemi's Appliance on April 23rd two weeks after I dropped off a new replaced dryer motor that another independent tech installed for me. When I dropped off the motor he told me he would refund my money back to me once he received a credit from the company that supplies the motors or $150. When I returned he informed me that he had seen my review on Yelp and was upset that I posted it. He knew it was me by the accurate and truthful details in my report. I told him I did so because it was the truth and other customers should be made aware of what happens if they encounter a problem at Salemi's. I want to reiterate one thing: I told the truth. I did not embellish nor did I exaggerate what transpired. He told me he would let me know "IF" and he emphasized "IF" he was going to issue a credit for the motor that was incorrectly installed by one of his technicians ($150) "ONLY IF" I retracted my review on Yelp. His words verbatim on April 23rd 2014. Let me ask you this....Does that sound like a honest businessman? I will give you a credit ONLY if you take down a negative post which was the truth. If he knew one of his techs made a mistake don't you think the right thing to do would be to issue a credit to a loyal customer and not hold back my money on the condition that I retract my review? His main concern was not making a customer happy it was making sure future customers don't find out about how he conducts business. Buyer beware. Lesson learned. My hope is that my experience will save someone else the time, money and aggravation that I encountered doing business at Salemi's. You can't say you haven't been warned. Oh and btw. I'm fairly positive that they were issued the credit for the motor I brought back to them and kept the money. No credit issued to me. Thanks for ripping off your customers. Customer service was very friendly, very helpful. They answered my emails and returned my phone calls, and they were the only appliance store in the area that had the refrigerator I wanted in inventory. Prices are very competitive. Delivery guys were great; very professional and took their time to get all the details right before leaving. I'll be going back there again soon for our new stove! read more

This appliance store and my experience with Salemi has been the worse I've EVER had with customer service AND service. The staff was helpful only during the "buy" phase. After that, you simply become a number! Because I've been waiting for my refrigerator since May, but since my old one has now broke down, I can't wait anymore. I have to go through another company due to the manufacturer issues. But once they found out I didn't want to deal with them anymore due to their lack of professionalism and the fact that they would NEVER return a call, AND my item was still on hold, they told me "I don't matter because they can't make any commission off me and they lost money!" The exact words from Adam, their sales man. I would NOT recommend anyone go to this store for your appliance needs. At this level of service, you are better off going through a 3rd party like Home Depot, Lowe's, or PC Richards. read more

Horrible customer service. Our high-end dishwasher stopped working so we called the manufacturer who suggested replacing a part. Rather than ordering the part from them (which was cheaper I might add), we decided to use Salemi to support a local business and build a relationship. We purchased the manufacturer suggested part and it didn't fix the problem. They suggested another part, which yet again, we purchased from Salemi and didn't fix the problem. Salemi wouldn't refund the parts, which I can understand since they were "used" for 2 seconds, but considering what a high end store this is, you would think that they would have been able to wave the $35 diagnostic fee since we had already spent $150 in parts and still don't have a working dishwasher! I will be going to buy a non-Miele dishwasher for half the price tonight and wish I could have saved my time and $150 in wasted parts to put towards a new dishwasher. read more

We have received consistently great service from Salemi. We bought all our appliances from them two years ago. There have been a few bugs to work out and their service man Edwin is not only incredibly knowledgeable, he is a really nice guy. It is a pain to have problems with an appliance, but I can actually say we look forward to seeing Edwin, laughing at his jokes and knowing he will fix what ever is wrong the first time. (I know from experience that getting it right the first time is not always the case with every service company...) Danielle in the office is great about follow-ups and very cheerful on the phone. You really feel like she is going to bat for you, proactively getting you on the service schedule, tracking parts, etc. We bought our appliances from Barb and she was very patient as we sorted through all our options and considered a floor model fridge. She knows her stuff and is very professional. All in all, this is a great business and I would never buy anywhere else. read more

Went there today for help with a dishwasher that was purchased there 12 years ago. They were incredibly helpful and knowledgable. Not only did they have all the records on the appliance, but gave me tips for ways I could troubleshoot it myself and helped me weigh options for a new one. The owner took time himself, and Adam really knew his stuff. We didn't feel pressured, and they have the best selection for miles and miles. Their service after purchase is horrible. The woman who schedules the service call is always rude and never communicates the appliance issue properly with the technician. This has resulted in additional delays in repair, even when error codes are given to the scheduler. I would not recommend purchasing from Salemi. Very disappointed with Salemi. I am a contractor, and went to Salemi based on another contractor's recommendation. It took several phone calls to have the order placed correctly, and when I called to check on the delivery date the salesperson told me that the order was "sitting on my desk for 2 weeks." I politely informed him that I had already paid for the washer, dryer and dishwasher (nearly $2,900), and my customer was expecting delivery soon. After sorting things out, he told me he'd call with a delivery date, which he did not. I also was told that the stacking kit for the washer/dryer was on back order, and he could not tell me when it would arrive. I told him to send the appliances without it. The appliances arrived, and the delivery men were very professional. Since I still needed the stacking kit, I decided to look on line, and found it for nearly half the price with a 3 day delivery time. First and last time I will shop there. read more

We ordered a Bosch dishwasher with removal and installation. I took a day off from work for this appointment. ON THE MORNING of the appointment they called us to say that it is back ordered and they are not coming today! They would not work with us to schedule another appointment for an afternoon on a convenient for us day, because they ONLY deliver dishwashers in the morning! What kind of customer service is that?! We will NOT buy appliances from this store ever again. Very unreliable. Not the best pricing. Not working with the client. read more

I purchased a very expensive stove, $3,500. I was told it wouldn't be a problem to install. In fact, the morning of the delivery , the contractor (supplied by Salemi) said it would take an hour or two. Two days later , after cutting into my counter and $950 later ($450 contractor, $450 electrician and plumber) extra dollars, he was finished. Contractor was good but store should have know about the dimension. I had all my info with me on day of purchase. Also told me they'd give me a trim kit (to go around stove) which I haven't received. A very disappointing & expensive experience. I wish I had kept my old stove. read more

Service protocol is very bad. They say that their service person will call AFTER 12:30. He calls at 11, and leaves a message that if I don't respond within five minutes he is gone for the day! When I call the main office later, the lady simply says that the time was approximate because they can never know. But they said "after 12:30". Nothing approximate in that statement. I can't say enough great things about Salemi appliance and their repair service. My range broke down and when they couldn't come out to fix it immediately I called another repair service. They told me the control board was bad and it would cost more than $600 to repair it. I declined and waited for Salemi. The board was not bad..it was a sensor and only a $60 part. They are trustworthy! I will never call another repair service again! read more
