Scratches were on the door and the panel was scared up. It did not look like it was worth the cost. The door came with a battery powered keypad and a key turn lock that had only one key that did not work with the lock. I went back and forth trying to reach Don, which was a waste of time because he didn't answer my phone calls and office personnel didn't answer but when I inquired about getting the door, responses were super fast and everyone was very pleasant. Don only started responding to me when I spoke to Bruce about him avoiding my calls. Don responded with nothing but excuses. We went back and forth for weeks about getting touch up paint and keys to fit the door and I still didn't get a remedy. I had the worst experience ever. I would caution anyone using The Window Source. What you pay for might not be what you get and there are extensive wait times. Customer service is not great. I will say Bruce was nice and empathetic. The good thing that came out of this ordeal was I got my money back after requesting it. Nothing could be disputed and Don knew the door and my experience were a flop and bad business.

That all ended when Bill from Memphis Weather Proof showed up. Bill knew his product well. His sales pitch was very low key. We checked several references he provided near by, and drove by the homes to see the work. Everyone raved about Bill and his installer Kevin. Bill also didn't want any money up front (this varies with the size and type of the job), which was a huge confidence booster. Windows came in on schedule and Kevin was able to get to our job a day or two later. Kevin does all the installation work himself which is both good and bad. It's good because he's a hard worker and does a very nice job. It's bad because it makes the whole job take a while since only one man is doing the work. Best of all, with the new windows the house already feels better and I can see a reduction in energy use on my home energy monitor. The windows have been a huge improvement.

Bill is very accommodating, in general, and very knowledgeable when it comes to his products. The windows are of the highest quality and they are a beautiful and energy efficient addition to my home. Kevin is the window installer and he has done an amazing job! I cant' believe he does all the work himself and he gets it done quickly. I had 11 windows to install and he got the majority of them done in one day. We had some inclement weather which delayed installation a bit but Kevin is most impressive when it comes to getting the old windows out and the new ones in. Overall, I couldn't be more complementary of Memphis Weatherproof and I would highly recommend them.

On Wednesday we got a call asking if we would be home at the time scheduled, which we said yes. Thursday three o'clock the person wasn't there. About 10 after my wife called and they said they were running behind (could have given us a courtesy call to let us know) , technician call with an attitude saying he was three minutes out. When he got there my wife had some new shoe covers she asked him to put on, as we do with anyone who comes to our home for estimates or to do work and they do with no questions asked. Technician said he had his own which he did, but he had been using the same ones all day, so my wife again asked if he would use the new ones, he refused and asked if it was a safety issue, my wife said no, but if he was not comfortable with the request maybe he should leave, so he said he felt uncomfortable and left. My wife called the office to speak to a supervisor and he answered the phone. I asked to speak with him to ask him what was the issue of using our shoe covers, and he said that well maybe we thought his pants or shirt might not be clean so he felt it would be better that he leave. I explained that people come to our home to do work and while doing the work their pants or shirt may get sweaty or dirty and that was not an issue, its just that walking around on different surfaces with your shoes you don't know what you're picking up on your feet, but if that's how you feel well ok. Others may have had good experiences with them, but we could not even get an estimate, I would not recommend them to anyone.

He was able to…read moregive me a couple of prices during the visit but he said he had to get back to me on the total job. I could follow up but then will I have to continue to follow up throughout the project? Basically I feel my time was wasted. I found a brochure for The Glass Guru and gave them a call. When the rep got to my house he started talking about this huge fixed window (picture window) like he knew all about it, which confused me. He informed me he had come out before and treated the window we were talking about, which explains how I came across their brochure. The previous owners spent $370 to try a treatment that will unfog a window. (Little holes are drilled in the corners of the glass and solutions are sprayed in between the panes.) He said that treatment has a warranty and he could try the treatment again at no cost to me. That was a pleasant surprise! But on top of that, he said since the treatment didn't work (and he said it's possibly the fault of the technician vs the treatment itself) that I could get the cost of the treatment discounted off of replacing the window-whether it be just replacing the glass or the entire window. The treatment he was describing is unlike anything I've ever heard of and I bet a lot of people would try that before going full on into costly replacements. My rep was very professional on the phone and in person and called when he was on his way. I could tell he is passionate with his work. I'm really glad I called them because other companies just want to give you a quote for new replacement windows and that's it. He gave me detailed explanations of multiple options, broke down how things work into layman's terms and I'm waiting to hear back with a quote.

Memphis Buyer Beware!!!!…read more These folks are so good at a sales presentation but that is the only thing they are good at. Lying. I was sold a picture window and was asked to review this company and give it 5 stars in order to get my discount. So I did. And how wrong I was for doing this. 3-26-2018 My window has a hole in the wood and I needed my windows replaced before it started getting hot. I purchased the window and made a 50% deposit. The sales rep Keron, promised me 4-5 weeks before installation would happen. We agreed on this. That was the last communication I have had "from" this company. A week later I called to ask when the appointment to take proper measurements would happen. At that point they scheduled it with me. To be honest, I do not think they would have called to schedule this appointment for my measurements without me calling first. So the guy called at the last minute the day of my appointment and told me it would have to be the next day and asked if I could accommodate him since he had to ride down to Mississippi and it would be easier on him if I would meet him at a less convenient time for me. I agreed. He came and he came without knowledge of what was actually sold and what was going to be done inside the wall with rebuilding the wood. I waited 5 weeks from the sale of the window and made a call on the Thursday prior to 6 weeks. 5-9-2019 A man answered and told me that he saw my window was on a truck and is being shipped. It would be in the following week. I waited until the following Thursday and still no call. 5-16-2019 So I called. A lady named Mabel answered and started to explain that there is no way this window could ever be ready in 5 weeks. She then went into an explanation about the color process and that the windows with color always take 10-12 weeks and so on!!! I abruptly interrupted her and told me none of that means anything to me because our deal was for 4-5 weeks and I needed this done before the hot weather hit. She then explained to me that she had to tell the salesmen to quit telling people that color windows would be 4-5 weeks. It had been an internal issue. I then asked her why would the man tell me that he saw my window was on a truck due to ship?!? She responded that he couldn't have told me, which I quickly interrupted her again and told her this happened and how did it happen. She then explained that this guy was new and didn't know how to read the codes on the paper. I told her let's just cancel this and refund my deposit. She told me I would have to speak with the sales manager, so I asked for his number. I was told his number is private and they do not give that out but she would have him call me. That was at 9:00am. 5-16-2018 At 3:30 I called back and went to their answering machine so I had to call corporate who transferred me down and they answered. I asked why I hadn't received a call. Mable said he had tried and left me a voicemail. Of course you know cell phones, they ID all calls and I had no missed calls or voicemails. So I asked her to have someone higher up that the sales manager to call me. She gave me two names, Jason Edwards or Bob Eatron (spelled wrong) and assured me that one of them would call me back They did not call, nor did I receive a call from anyone on Friday 5-17-2019 either. Nothing like service after the sale HA. So Saturday 5-18-2019, I called the national appointment line and they were helpful i But nobody was in the office and she would have the lady over operations in the Corporate office, call the Memphis office and make someone call me back. Strange that this happens a lot. I do not trust the local operations and their poor service and lies have convinced me that Champion Windows is not the company I want in my home. I called American Express and complained about the company and started the process of negating the transaction. I'm absolutely shocked that after such a good sales presentation, this company just crapped on me and then lied and continued to lie to me and never bothered to call, not even once after the sale. I don't care how good the window may be, with lousy service and misrepresentation, I fear they are selling crap. I'm guessing you can read the other reviews on Yelp and see that these folks have a horrible track record. It hurts worse when you think you found a company you can trust and then later find out it was all lies and they hide like cowards and won't address the problems. They just want to sell and make money and do not care about the consumer. That reminds me of the story my sales rep was telling me about someone trashing them on a review before they had had a chance to address the problem. Well, if they have called and have been ignored and not called back like Champions Windows Memphis has done to me, and hid from addressing problems, I would say their trashing of Champion Windows was valid.
