I just moved to Houston from California and really needed a post-quarantine facial and drove by Contour Lashes & Brows during their grand opening. First off- I just want to say how sensitive my skin can be. I generally turn red very easily and therefore am super picky about getting facials. I decided to make an appointment with MiMi and I don't regret it at all! The place was sparking clean, designed beautifully, with very thoughtful touches. MiMi herself was very kind and kept making sure that I was alright throughout the whole facial. She was so gentle on my skin and used Dermalogica products. I've been going to Mimi for many years prior to this new shop and I can honestly say she is one of the best! Every time I get my brows done by her I'd get so many complements on my brows by friends & others. I've given other places chances to do my brows but they can never do it like Mimi. I also have super sensitive skin and hive up after waxing/threading or doing certain facials. But with Mimi I don't get any skin irritation what so ever. Nice people but I think they need more training on efficiency and quality. The tech was too close to my face and it felt uncomfortable and unsanitary. I've had it to where they weren't that close. Also went up on price and then when I mentioned it, she said I can take $5 off for you. That's nice but I feel, if you go up on price, go up on quality as well. This place has low ethics and bad eyelash installer/hygiene. They don't use gloves. They had a new technician there do the eyelashes for my wife and she did something wrong were my wife's eye became sore and very red for days. She went back and they removed a few lashes but that did not fix it. When they saw the red eye they said they had to take them all off and wait for a few days. She agreed. When she went back to get the eyelashes put back on they asked my wife to pay FULL PRICE AGAIN to have then re-applied! These were not cheap $190 botched job that they refused to honor. This place recently open and I decided to stop by to get my eyebrows done. I am very self conscious of my eyebrows and I like to keep it thick. Mimi did my eyebrows and before we started I kept repeating myself that I want to keep it thick and I wanted a simple clean up and to leave my tail alone because I been trying to grow it out. She said "okay" and proceed. When she was done and gave me the mirror my left eyebrows was super thin! I'm sorry but I'm never coming here again. I got my lip tattoo and eyeliner tattoo done by David! He's great he helped me pick out colors and shape that will fit my face and skin tone. After the colors started to fade along with the healing process, the colors are very natural and brings color to my face. I had the most terrible service with a lash tech today during my 3 week-refill appointment. No wonder why their turnover rate is high. This was my third lash tech Charlene. She was 5 minutes late to my appointment. I was early. She didn't greet me. I had to greet her. She only took 30 minutes on my lash refill which was the quickest I've ever experienced. She didn't want to clean my lashes stated it will mess up the retention (which is untruthful) she then stated she had no fan to dry my lashes after I was done. I had to ask for a mirror to see the finish results. The results wasn't what I normally get which is full volume. She then tried to charge me $150 (four week refill) instead of a three week refill of $100. Which is stated in their brochure. This is normally what I pay and have paid for a year. Charlene was my third lash tech here because the other two lash techs no longer work for Contour. The last two techs Theresa and Tammy were great. Great customer service. But Charlene was the worst. This week is my last week as a customer at Contour. I'm reporting her. She tried to get over on me and that wasn't okay. She doesn't have the best customer service. Very unprofessional. Please be mindful of how you treat others who are adding to your business. Because of how you treated me (a year long customer), I'm not returning. read more
