She had previously done my sisters makeup on her wedding day four years ago. I thought she was reliable but the crazy thing about this is that she sent me a text that morning of my wedding day that she was on her way. I also tried calling her many times and she never answered any of my calls. The night before she acted like she was ready and prepared. I later found out from some mutual acquaintances around town that she has a problem with alcohol and I'm not completely sure how true that is but she intentionally did not show up and I had to hire someone the last minute to do my hair and makeup. Thankfully I did find someone who could do this but the stress and the grief that it caused me on the day that should be very meaningful and happy was taken away from me. I would have at least appreciated if she had told me she wasn't able to make it at all rather than saying she was on her way and not showing up. It could've given me more time to prepare and look for a backup but I literally had one hour before I walked down the aisle to get both hair and makeup done. She quickly contacted me (like within 5-10 minutes) after I used her online booking portal to gather more details and to confirm my appointment time and location. She was transparent from the beginning and let me know that she had an appointment right before mine and that depending on where I was located, she may not be able to meet my time request. She quickly determined that I was within 5 minutes from her other appointment so she would be able to get to me in time. I proceeded to pay my deposit and I also received several texts and emails leading up to my appointment to confirm. On the day of, Kristin arrived early! She let me know when she was on her way, when she was parking (I was at a hotel) and when she was headed up to my room. I opened the door to a smiling face and a warm personality. Of course I enjoyed getting my makeup done but I also enjoyed getting to know Kristin and learning more about her. She's just an awesome person. So how did she do? Well not only was she quick, I have never loved my makeup as much as I loved it when Kristin did it. I've been to many makeup artists and Kristin is my favorite. I like a natural look and I don't like makeup to feel or look heavy. I couldn't even tell she had put foundation on me. I thought she was joking when she asked how heavy it felt.
