I do feel that when someone is being unethical, it should be addressed. I went to Christine for some lowlights and wanted a FEW highlights to blend in, but I like my hair mostly dark. I told her this and she began mixing the products. It took her almost 2 hours just to apply the highlights. After my hair was done processing, I knew the color was awful. The blonde obviously didn't sit long enough and was very brassy. She then puts a deep conditioning in my hair (that I didn't ask for nor did she ask if I wanted it. She just did it). After that she put a toner in my hair. Again, didn't ask. All in all, I was there for 3 HOURS. When I went to pay, she tells me it's $275 and I booked for a $140 service!!!!!! How do you not tell someone that the price is going to be so much higher! She then tells me that I would have known the price if I did a consultation with her first. Why couldn't she tell me any prices before or during the service rather than just doing things I didn't even ask or agree to? She literally just put things in my hair. At the time, I didn't even know what she was doing. She told when she was ringing me up everything she did. I don't even like my hair. It is so brassy and streaky, and for almost $300, this should be the best lowlights/highlights I have ever had. I have never in my life spent so much money getting my hair done. I usually wear my hair up and it looks awful. When it's down, I have to be sure to part it in a certain way for it to look good. Otherwise, you can see places she missed. So many people that usually ask where I get my hair done has told me my hair looks awful, but I'm not going back and I can't justify spending anymore on my hair so soon. I think she was being extremely unethical in her business practice and, needless to say, I will not be going back and I do not recommend. *If she posts pics saying how great my hair looks, it is parted in a good spot. As I said above, it needs to be parted in certain areas to look good when it is down. Please let my photos of her work speak for themselves. Her color and application is beyond horrible. Update: she also lies. Her response is a lie. I did tell her I was looking for a new stylist because she does fry my hair, but I also told her I was very happy with the health of my hair now because I had cut off 3" a few months back and didn't want to damage it again. It has been about 5 months since i last put blonde in my hair. I have since just been doing lowlights. I walked in with VERY healthy hair. I also told her I love how my stylist did my hair just not that she damaged it. I never booked for another service and scheduled a different service because again I like my hair darker. I had to reschedule the original service because something came up. I also did not go back to give her a chance to fix it because I didn't want to chance getting more services done that I didn't ask for and pay more money to her. Seeing her lie of a response shows me I made the right call. I did end up getting it fixed by another stylist and am extremely happy. I couldn't wait a couple of months for this horrible dye job to grow out. Honestly, the fact that I hate my hair is not the main purpose of this review, and if that was the only problem, I probably wouldn't have written anything because that's just the risk you take going to a new colorist. The main purpose is that she did things to my hair that I didn't ask for and she didn't ask me to do them. So she can say all she wants her prices are posted and I should have known, but the reality is that I could have known her prices like the back of my hand and it wouldn't matter because she rang up the tab by just doing what she wanted. I will not be going back and forth with her. The fact is she is unethical and lies and you should question everything if you do decide to give her a try. I 100% stand by everything I have said in this review.

She listened to me and then walked me through everything she recommended after which we agreed upon, including price which I appreciated. Then she worked her magic and WOW. She brought my hair back to life. I absolutely loved my hair cut and the color was stunning. She removed all traces of warm brassy tones and color matched me perfectly. I may not return to my stylist however out of respect I wouldn't disclose my stylist name. I went in there for a consult with my frizzy hair and also wanted to do root touch up. I have had highlights from before. During my consultation, I was suggested by my stylist to do a hair keratin treatment. And she/he dint really talk about the root touch up, which was fine to me too. On my hair service day, when my root touch up was about to start, she/he asked me if I want to keep my highlights. I said yah, would like to keep my highlights. She/he also said that since some of my grey roots were longer more than about an inch, I'd be charged for a single process color $95 instead of root touch up $75. I gave my okay to that. Then work got started and all of my services were completed. Next day, I noticed several grey hairs still. I called up with my concern on the following business day. I was asked to come in so that my stylist can have a look. I went in there greeted my stylist asked how are you doing. She/he responded in a rude tone. Then after I addressed my concern, she/he went on raising her/his voice incrementally blaming me that I wanted to keep my highlights and that my greys were too long. I have to mention that I had been calm all throughout. For me it was not a big deal, it was just a minor error, which can be corrected easily. I dint go there to complain or scream at anyone, just wanted to see if that can be corrected. She/he made a huge deal out of it. She/he made me feel like it was my mistake that I had a complicated hair service request. Well, I'd say any professional's potential is tested on how one copes to new challenges. However, shout out to Teresa at customer service for the way she handled the situation. She was there to witness. She said that she'd let her manage know and gave me a form to fill up. Meanwhile, my stylist stormed out of the salon. Teresa was so empathetic! She dint assure me anything just said that she'd follow up with her manager. But, had been so compassionate throughout. It was a challenging situation for her too. She reacted so well at the situation, without taking anyones side. To me, unlike my stylist, she really thrived at her challenge! Following day, I got a call from their manager and she was really very nice as well! She set me up an appointment with another stylist to see what they can do. My second stylist tried to fix it as much as she could, which is all I wanted. Too much of unnecessary drama by my stylist. It'd have been solved right there, all she/he needed to do was tell me how you can help and if not explain to me what repercussions it may have to my hair. For the whole trauma that I had to go through, I'd have given a 1 star. However, for everyone else and everything else at this place I'd have to give a 4 star.

I called Vivian on the 3rd and was excited she had an opening on the 5th after the holiday. The shop is located in a converted house located on 4th Street. The parking lot isn't large but works well since clients rotate in and out. A very nice ramp runs beside the parking lot. Yvette's has great hours and opens early, at 9:00, and closes at 6:00 Tueday - Friday. Saturday hours are 8:00 - 5:00. Vivian was just finishing up with a client as I arrived. After a few minutes she was ready for me. I showed her a couple pictures but ended up staying with the same cut. After a quick wash she began. She was confident, quick and paid attention to tiny details. All the girls were focused on their clients and not taking among themselves. Vivian was friendly, kind of quite and listened closely. My cut is a tad shorter than I expected but I like the style. Remember it's been 8 weeks so I haven't seen short hair for awhile. I'll definitely use Vivian the next time I'm in town and probably go cut and color. She's affordable and I'd like to see what she does with color. The reviews note she's excellent with color. I ended up going to visit a few weeks ago for an European facial and a Swedish massage with Katy and it was amazing!! The location is a cute house type establishment and inside there is a salon, massages, and facials going in all at the same time! Katy gave me the absolute BEST massage and after feeling tense alllll throughout my body, she got all the kinks out. She was VERY knowledgeable about the different muscles and gave me a great massage and great information about how to avoid sports injury. She also did a nice facial with great smelling products that were gentle on my skin. If you live in the area or even if you dont, take the trip because it is extremely worth it!
