I'd expect them to let me know how much longer I need to wait, but since sitting me at the pedicure chair, no one has said anything and I've been waiting for 26 minutes now. I'm lying. I've been waiting for 36 minutes because I arrived 10 minutes early. If you're on time, you're late. When it was finally my turn, after waiting 30 mins, the nail tech did say, "thank you for waiting". Unfortunately, the damage was done and I will not be tipping, for I do not want to reinforce this type of disrespect.

So happy I stumbled upon Contented Nail Parlor because I have found my go-to nail shop! Monique and her staff are truly exceptional. I came in to the store as a walk in, not knowing that this is a black owned nail salon! The environment was absolutely wonderful and they did such a good job. The nail tech who did my french tip pedicure had great energy and made sure that I was happy with her work! I am so happy that I stumbled across this salon. The environment is great, the people are wonderful, and the prices are affordable. At the end of my appointment I was able to spin a wheel and I was able to get a free pedicure! I found this spot randomly on Father's Day and decided to go for it. I was nervous because it was my first time walking into a new place and I didn't want it to be awkward. When I walked in they were very welcoming and took care of me. I loved how clean they were and how sanitized everything was, making me feel comfortable there. All the girls there were sweet and invited you into their convo. I found my new nail spot to come to and I am very grateful for their service. She repeatedly cut my cuticles with the drill, causing them to bleed, and attempted to remove my set using a nail tip before doing a soak-off. Because my nails were not lifting easily, my natural nail cracked and broke during the removal. What concerned me most was that my skin and natural nail were damaged to the point of bleeding, and the area underneath my nail became exposed. She then applied KDS nail glue to the area and continued with the service. The entire appointment felt rushed and careless. I left with bleeding cuticles, a broken natural nail, polish on my skin, and pain that lasted for days afterward. I paid $65 and was so unhappy with the result that I removed the design myself and cut my nails down shortly after. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I left disappointed with both the quality of the service and the condition of my nails. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this salon.

My cuticles were left looking really rough, and she skipped the basic courtesy of applying any oil or lotion at the end. In fact, it was so bad that I ultimately asked her to skip the design on my ring fingers because I didn't want to draw any more attention to it. Ironically, my pedicure technician was the one who noticed how dry my hands looked and kindly handed me some oil. To top it off, when the tech finishing my nails was done, she didn't even say thank you. The Verdict: At $130 for a Gel-X set, the baseline expectation is that your cuticles will look presentable and you'll receive basic courtesy. At the end of the service they did turn out very beautiful and I was really happy, but they didn't last at all, the second day the chrome part was the first thing to come off. I wasn't angry at them because I tend to have a huge heart, I just felt bad because they were trying their best and I ended up tipping both ladies.
