Took my car in for an aftermarket alarm and kill switch. I asked them to maximize the sensitivity to fit my preferences, and they did a great job. Everything was straightforward, professional, and well done. Definitely gives me extra peace of mind when it comes to my car's security! Viper 5706V 2-Way LCD read more

For Mother's Day my daughter wanted to get my windows tinted, I'm of the older generation and tint was not on my radar at all. She's had 4 cars that I can recall that she had tinted and so here we go to do mine. Being skeptical, with questions like Will I be able to see being first and foremost, I went to her friend Brad, at Consumer Car Audio and he set me at ease. He answered all my questions and suggested what would be best for me. He didn't try to force anything on me just his suggestions. Well Brad was correct and I love the way he used darker on the back but a little lighter for passenger side and driver side. I love it. I love the way she looks. Talking with Brad and my daughter who's brought 4 of cars to him like I stated earlier, he said he's going to look out for us and give us a great deal. I know nothing about tinting but my daughter sure does and she was very happy with the deal he gave her. Needless to say today was a good day for both of us, I got tint and she got a great deal. If you need your windows tinted or anything type of audio for your car, support local business and go visit Brad. Tell him Cynthia sent you. read more

Moe did an amazing job on my mini cooper. I could not be more happy. Not only did they put in a great alarm system but they also put in an upgraded stereo system. They not only treated us with respect but the got the job done right the first time!!! They also cleaned up a huge mess from another shop that did some terrible work. It was awful. They did the worst work possible. Moe had to clean it up and do some serious work but he did it with pride and did such an amazing job! We are so happy with the quality of work!!!! Thank you so very much for taking care of us. It means alot to us!!! read more

Popped in to check out prices to replace my old and worn out CASSETTE player in my commuter car, didn't want anything fancy, literally needed something to plug my iPod into for my daily 100 mile round trip commute. I chose a Kenwood cd/radio and was informed of the cost to install. It was extremely reasonable and I arranged to gave it fitted this past weekend. My appointment was 10am, car was finished by 10.30! Clean install, everything worked and my original radio was in the back along with the warranty and manuals etc. Great price, great work, highly recommended. read more

Consumer Car Audio - My new replacement for my CASSETTE TAPE PLAYER! - Car Stereo Installation Near Me - Stockton, California

Took them a month to get me in there, I had to call him or go down there several times. Total B.S process. I had a 9am appointment for a subwoofer install. I called 5hr later and Amad or Muhammad said it wont be done until 5-6pm . He called me at 5pm and asked if he could keep the car overnight because some guy didn't come with the part . I said no because I need my car for work and I don't want to leave him my car any longer he's already had it 9hrs. All in all, horrible experience constant set backs and excuses. Worst of all he took my car for 9hr and didn't do his job. My whole day off wasted without my car. I do not recommend this place because of this experience and I wouldn't want my friends, family or coworkers going through it either. I'm taking my business elsewhere and so should you ! read more

This place is the place to go to put in a new radio. My dad has done business with them since we've been in Stockton and I just recently got a new radio. The guy who helped us was Mr. Moe. He's a great day, knows what he's talking about, and remembers customers. Plus, it's in a very convenient spot to if you need to wait there, there's Walmart and other shops near and food. But, they do their work quickly and efficiently. Worth going to the place to do business. read more

Just got a diagnostic check for one side speaker just this past Monday, on the driver front a speaker was only going without bass only. Yet I felt that my speakers has lost the bass gradually over time anyway, and one had to just give up. So they checked it if it was the speaker, wiring, or the stereo. It was the speaker with the cracks in the surrounding rubber. I bought these "Total Mobile Audio" speakers about 6 years ago and they're a not as expensive brand as JL, but made by JL but not cheap. So I had to replace one pair for now in the front, and I went with JL which they had in stock, but not TMA. But these guys go for the good brands and not any cheap brands at all. They're about quality. After installation, which was probably half an hour tops, that was it. Sounded pretty good, much more bass than the other pair in the back but its because these are new. Pricing is reasonable, and I'll be back next paycheck to get the second pair in the rear. read more

There is a reason why I drove 100 miles one way and 200 miles round trip to see these guys: CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND SERVICE! And I will be doing it again this weekend for a new system. After experiencing a nightmare at a shop in Hayward, (see other review) I felt blessed to have found Consumer Car Audio. Rudy, their lead salesman, was extremely polite and friendly right off top. Jeff, the installer who worked on my car, was also eager and interested in all my questions and concerns to make me happy. He took the time to address all my previous issues because I wanted to make sure it was done right this time. He began to explain gain settings, cubic feet enclosures, subsonic filters etc. Honestly, he went so into detail, I knew what he was talking about, but simultaneously, became a little lost which was fine because I knew I finally found a shop I could trust. I purchased a replacement sub woofer from Consumers and they set it up in my own box for $375.00 + tax. The speaker retails for $699.95, as you can see in the picture above, that was their sticker price. Jeff took around 30 to 45 minutes in JUST tuning my amplifier so that my bass would match my highs. I was very impressed when I got in my car and heard my system, very nice Jeff, you rock. As I have written in another review about a car detailing place, Rudy became more than just a business acquaintance, he became a friend. I have been calling up there trying to set up an appointment for my next install, but sometimes he's so busy, he can't even talk to me. When I finally did get a hold of him, we would shoot the shit about nightclubs and what not, very friendly individual and a pleasure to deal with. Their shop looks so nice and the sales floor looks spectacular. Anyone would feel right at home in shopping here. They also had a show car parked out front showing the type of work they do, without a doubt, a showstopper. Can't wait to visit them again and have them install my new system. See pictures above if you are not convinced. Thanks Jeff and Rudy, you guys are awesome. Ricky M. read more

Absolutely fantastic job on my car window tint! Got 5% in the back, 20% on the front windows, 5% strip on the windshield. He has 3M Ceramic tint which is top tier kind, and he still gave me the cheapest price around town! It looks really nice and I can immediately feel a difference in temperature too since the ceramic tint blocks out so much heat, which is great because it gets fuckin hot in the central valley! Did I mention, he gives lifetime warranty with it too!!! read more

They do a great job on window tint. We got the lifetime warranty limo tin on our landcuiser and Jeep. Got the lifetime warranty lighter tint for our Accord. Prices are great they are very professional. I installed a backup camera on my jeep but it didn't work. They quickly diagnosed the problem, a bad ground and had it fixed in no time. This place charges way too much for their crappy work. We had audio put into our new car and it sounded terrible. They had me come in and said they could fix the issue. I took it in and waited for it to be done and they just blasted the music so it would mask the terrible amp sound because they had turned the gains all the way up! I spent a lot of money on the system and I knew it shouldn't have sounded that way! Took it elsewhere and the other company fixed the problem within an hour. Consumer Car Audio - Car Stereo Installation Near Me - Stockton, California

I'm picky about my car audio, especially when it comes to running wires for my amps and speakers. After reading the reviews left by Ricky M. & Anu R. I decided to give Consumer Car Audio a try. Before I did so I called Warehouse Car Stereo which did my last install, and the price I was quoted was $100 in parts and $125 labor! Consumer quoted me $70 for the install and $50 for the parts. They said they were ready to do the install that same day so I loaded up my amp and subwoofer and drove over. Just like they said, they were ready for me. The installers started work right away, and I walked next door to the Vietnamese restaurant for lunch. After taking my time at lunch I returned, and they were almost done. I paid exactly what I was quoted on the phone, they did the job quick while I waited, and the job looks and sounds professional! I highly recommend this place for fast, and clean car audio installations! read more

I can say without lying that this is the best place in Stockton! However, don't get excited seeing as the other place is West Coast Car Audio and a couple other places are sketchy. I ended up here because I purchased a system for my Ford Ranger access cab and did some price shopping. I got a quote at West Coast Car Audio and then took it in to Consumer Car Audio and asked if they could beat or match the pricing since their Yelp reviews were better for this place and my other options weren't looking so good as far as workmanship was concerned. I'm going to breakdown a few categories to give you a better indicator as to why I rated them the way I did. Price- Slightly more than West Coast ($640 vs $600 including labor) but reviews swayed me to this place and I was able to negotiate a little bit lower on the price. Store- Well organized, seems like they really have the latest and greatest and if not you can order it through them. Plenty of parking. Workmanship- This is where they faltered. They installed four speakers, one 4 channel amp, one sub and the deck. The speakers (JL Audio) sounded ok but the highs were too high and shoud've been better tuned (any tuning at all would've sufficed). The sub sounded like some cartoon sound effect and I had to tune it myself so that it would hit good. Lastly, there was also some engine whine and I took the truck back to them to fix, which they did, but it felt like pulling teeth. Place of the amp in the truck could've been a lot better and they really could've tried concealing the cables. I really wish I would've gone to my contact in San Diego to have done this install but that's what I get for being cheap and lazy. At least it's not a nicer truck or a luxury car...I would've been quite irritated. read more

I've taken 3 vehicles here for tint - 2017 Sonata Limited, 2016 Elantra, and a 2001 Accord. I also had them do my rear speakers and install a double din touch screen backup camera radio in my Accord coupe. They did a great job! What little mistakes there were they promptly took care of. The tint looks great! No peeling, no bubbles. Nice guys, and I even forgot to give them my contact info once and they stayed over an hour after they were already closed to wait for me to call in! Their prices are also great. I'll keep bringing my cars here. read more

I took my 2k17 mustang in on 11/20/20 and picked it up on 1/22/21 when I was told 2weeks for a box to be made for 2 15 inch speakers and a pioneer deck and alarm to be installed plus two headrest tv monitors I came back to consumes car audio to check on my car all to be notified after the fact that an 18 inch speaker was purchased and I owed 700 more dollars after paying 6,700 dollars I never was asked for the order to be placed nor did I give any confirmation that I would pay an extra 700 bucks then I went online to see if I was over charged for the stereo equipment not only was I over charged but the 700 dollars I paid for my viper alarm was not completable to my 2017 mustang which explains why my heater stopped working and why my car turned off while I was on the freeway and I had to use my AAA I could have been in a serious accident the brain and module to the viper alarm fell out of my steering colum underneath by my emergency brake area while I was driving so I call the installer Louis that works at big boy customs and he just says oh ok I'm out of town and I call moe the shops owner and he says oh ok bring it by on Wednesday but what about I paid 6,700 for the whole installation and the equipment and my life was in danger I should of been compensated and reimbursed some of my money back moe yelled at me and said I'm not getting shit back and to come get my car from his shop so I sent my brother up to his shop and all of a sudden my car gets done after sitting for 2months and a week or two I take my car to west coast audio on hammer all for them to tell me that moe from consumes car audio sold me a old school alarm that was not compitable to my car and my 2k17 car kit for my mustang was not wired right costing me 1,473 to get their mistake fixed I will never go back to consumers car audio on e hammer lane ever again in my life I would not recommend my worst enemy go here for anything their lazy and untrustworthy their all about serving guys only and trying to swindle females and they smoke weed and drink so goals are never met in a timely manor read more

After reading some of the reviews, it seems as though some have had some bad luck. I have went to this place twice, i had to replace my 2010 Dodge Rams stereo because the previous one stopped working. They did a great job and was efficient, the pricing was fair, of course I like to deal, so they made a fair price and when I had a hiccup with the system they fixed it right away. I do wished I wouldn't need to new Sirius antenna though. I then brought my Jeep Liberty there for a radio and tint. They guy I dealt with was friendly and gave me a great deal. I've looked at other places and this one by far had better prices. The tint was amazing, the radio is awesome. I do need to get the Sirius Antenna moved because of signal problems, but I am sure they will be more than acccomdating. They also installed a charger port in the back and a back up camera, all with great prices. They did a great job, as with any business they may have a few faults here and there but they are nice and are willing to work with the customer and they make everyone feel welcomed, I've been to a few audio places and they did not welcome me at all but here they are great guys and good service. I will be bringing my Toyota Tundra there soon. read more

No bs. I took my beat up, faded paint, A to B in to get an old CD deck installed and have my friend's attempt at installing 6x9 speakers, mounted properly and actually wired up so they worked. Also my antenna needed replacing. So this was a real project, and not some brand new SUV getting $10,000 of gear put in it. These guys treated the whole thing nonchalantly. I really appreciated that. I've been to OTHER PLACES where there were Vanilla Ice kind of guys, who I could tell were kind of rolling their eyes about having to deal with a piece of crud car, and low end gear. I wound up getting a newer deck, for mp3 and ipod reasons. There was no pressure to buy what I didn't need or want. Install was perfect for what I wanted, a functioning stereo in my car. They even got my front stock speakers working again! Don't worry so much about saving a buck or two, just go to a good shop like this one and get your stereo installed right, in a comfortable, professional, adult environment. read more

This review should have been done back in August 2013. If you value your vehicle and like the way everything looks and functions DO NOT GO HERE. If you are thinking of upgrading your sound system, visiting once and leaving with no problems DO NOT GO HERE. If you are expecting kind and friendly service and any problems to be taken care of DO NOT GO HERE. If you are expecting a refund for a shoddy job done and driving back and forth for months to rectify the situation over and over again because the problem keeps occuring DO NOT GO HERE. My suggestion to anyone, believe the reviews and keep looking. ML Audio in Sacramento, a 5 star rated company had to go behind these guys, figure out the problem and fix it. If you ask me, all of the employees of Consumer Car Audio are under the influence of some sort of controlled substance so please DO NOT GO HERE. read more
