I went through Cal Customz to get my whole SUV ceramic tinted last week and this is my experience: I went through Yelp to request a tint project that requested quotes from multiple shops. I decided to go with Cal Customz because they sent me a detailed and professional quote of the films they use and their competitive pricing. They use Xpel tint film which is a high quality and well-known film. I was received a call that same day to schedule an appointment for the following day. When I dropped of my vehicle off at my scheduled time, there were no issues. However, when I went to go pick up my vehicle a few hours later, I was told that I was originally misquoted and that I would have to pay $200 more than I was quoted. I expressed my frustration to the Ciera, their representative, and requested some kind of reimbursement since the work was already done and I was essentially forced to pay the new amount. Ciera stated that she was new and thought my vehicle was a sedan, not an SUV, so I received the sedan rates instead. Ciera called the owner, Sergio, and they were able to make it right by honoring the original quote. I ended up being very impressed with their work and decided to come in to get my panoramic sunroof done for a discounted rate due to the miscommunication. I was extremely happy that this shop owned up to their mistake and made it right. In my opinion, this is the difference between good quality customer service. Quality of work: 7/10 windows were completely flawless. The windshield, passenger side window, and the main retractable sunroof/moonroof window had minor imperfections such trapped dust/debris, and 1-2 small bubbles. Which I understand is unrealistic to 100% avoid. The headliner around my sunroof/moonroof had minor staining due to soap mixture they use for the tint. This was a minor inconvenience to me because I was able to use some fabric solution and warm water to scrub it out. A small bit of feedback to the shop would be to tape down some painters plastic around the lighter colored headliners to avoid this. Overall, I am very satisfied with the job they did and I would definitely do business with them again. Only time will tell how the tint holds up which I have no doubts that it will. If I do have any issues with the imperfections in the future, it brings me relief that I have a lifetime warranty on the tint. Outside of the misquote issue, I do believe they offer competitive pricing for the quality of work they do. Thanks Cal Customz! read more

Took my Tesla to have my moon roof re-tinted after the first shop I took it to botched it. I also paid to have my front windshield tinted. Before I get into this review let me say this was the worst experience I've ever encountered from any business. I came from out of town about an hour away and dropped my vehicle off. I came back hours later and the owner greets me and tells me they cracked my front windshield applying the tint. I thought he was kidding, but quickly realized he wasn't. He told me this has never happened before and then blamed me for having chips in my windshield which I did not have. Also, if you claim I had chips why would you go ahead and tint the windshield knowing it would crack? None of it adds up and is a sorry excuse for your error. After the owner made me feel bad he told me he would replace the windshield. I called them to schedule the windshield replacement and was told on the phone it would be a Tesla windshield performed by Safelite. I showed up to have the windshield replaced and the owner had some knock off solar view windshield and some random buddy to install it. After telling him I want it to be a Tesla windshield the owner proceeded to be condescending and tell me I don't know windshields and Teslas are built like crap etc. After wasting my time driving another 2 hours round trip I went home and went through his insurance. They ended up cutting me a check after multiple emails and calls back and forth. I went to a Tesla service center and had my windshield replaced. I came back to the shop for a 3rd time and they re tinted the new windshield. After leaving a few days later I noticed water spots all over my headliner which was clearly done from the install. I called and left a message and they never answered or returned my call. Lastly, I noticed they quoted me $50 to remove the tint on Instagram and then charged me $100 to remove it. This is my fault I should've called them out on it but given everything that took place I didn't want to piss them off. Long story short don't get hustled by a shady shop who makes the customer feel guilty and wastes their time. Go to a reputable shop and get it done right the first time. On 4/8/24 I went to get my front tent redone. I had previously gotten it done at another place who scammed me 3 years prior. So I came back to a place I thought did good work. I came in with my car clearly with darker front tint I told Andrea I wanted the same darkness in the front which I had was 35 she said they only carry 20% or 5 not wanting to be totally blacked out I said okay 20% thinking it would be darker but not to bad. Well I get there and I see this (look below) clearly not darker at all. I explained that to her she then tried to make a bunch of excuses as to why i could clearly see through it. She even said her van the gold Honda in the parking lot had the same tint in the front as I had. (It did not her tint is darker) so she went to speak to her husband about it and he said he will redo and charge me 140x2 so 280 total WTH I clearly was irritated at this point and just left. I paid and left very upset and disappointed I will never be back again. I've been here 3 other times and never had this problem. To perform work that's not up to your customers satisfaction then to over charge. I even asked if he could go over it with another layer of 20% to make it darker he said I l would still be charged. Never again. They lost my business. My car before he took the old tint off is CLEARLY darker then the tint he out on. I stated what I wanted I EXPRESSED I WANTED THE SAME DARKNESS I CURRENTLY HAD ON. These are 2 different shades. I'm ANGRY livid I spent money and my car looks the way it does. If I had known it wasn't going to be the same shade of darkness (look at the pictures) I would have left my original tint on. I absolutely hate my windows im ANGRY over this. I even asked if you could go over it with another 20% to make it darker you wanted to charge me another 140. Your wife lied to me saying it would be darker than what I had on and it's CLEARLY NOT DARKER. I CAN SEE THROUGH MY CAR. Take responsibility these are 2 different shades read more

Disappointed in owner Sergio. The day of install I was called and told that the alarm kept going off and car wouldn't start. We did finally get the car to start but it would not lock for me after I picked it up. Took it to consumer car audio the next day to help figure out the problem and the Cal Customz technician damaged my alarm receiver wire which had to be replaced and was 120$. When I called Sergio the next day to explain the problem he acted like I didn't say anything. So Mr. Sergio's lack of accountability has lost his company future business from me and other people I would have referred to him. Disappointed, but not surprised in today's era. read more

I have got quotes from several (at least 10) none of them where more then $800 many between 500-700. $1500??? Zero stars for this company- I really expected more out of this Stockton bred company, I was referred to them by Stockton Honda and later realized they tint some of the Sheriff cars. How wrong I was, they installed damaged film on my vehicle and refuse to replace or refund. The film was bent (2inches) in one area, and scratched (.5inches) in another area. Even though they offer a "warranty" on all film, this should make the replacement cost-free for them therefore I do not understand why they refuse to admit that they installed an inferior product and take responsibility as well as try to resolve the problem. Very poor customer service, poor business practices, and poor quality. Zero stars for Cal Customz. Spend the extra $200 and spare yourself a headache. Update: In the middle of a BBB claim with them and the manager/owner refuses to admit/acknowledge that he saw and felt the damage in person. Claims that "water installation" is the cause and we should wait 3-5 days for settling. Tint was installed June 27th, it is now August 18th, shockingly a scratch and bend in the film have not resolved themselves. This is not something we waited to report either, we made the damage known to the company the day of installation. read more

They booked me the first appointment the next morning and I took it in and while I was waiting I met the owner and started to ask about the wraps and how much it would cost which they offer at a great price as well. Hello, just wanted to write a review on this company that I'am sure it's a great one. But everyone has experiences. And mine happen not to be a good one. On February 26th early morning i called to set an appointment for later that day. As i spoke to the receptionist, she gave a clear presentation and was very nice she even set me up with an apointment at 3:30pm. As i arrived 10 minutes early as i walked in i smell a strong odor of some kind of liquid. So she was mopping in the middle of the day, i guess she did not have anyting else to do. The reason why i say this is because i had my 7 yrs old son with me and he kept on complainig about the smell. But instead of putting the mop away she kept working it. She then finally put the mop away and started check me in. At that time it was a little over my schedule appointment. That is not the worst part, she had to call the owner to come over becuase he had an appointment. So basically no one knew i had an appointment except the receptionst, i guess someone drop the ball. So then i said, I'm going to be patient and wait but 40 minutes later after my appointment (keep reading it gets better), i went ahead and asked the receptionist of the owner and his crew where on they're way. She called again and again and again. The funny thing is that there was a dude, i guess he worked there and he kept coming in and out pretty much he seems lost himself. I would understand if they we're working on another car but no one was there. They we're no customers only myself it looked like a ghost town. I guess they went ahead and took a long lunch! This is the worst part, as i got my stuff to leave after 40 minutes after my appointment. Guess, who decides to show up the owner (dont know his name and dont care), I asked him point blank if he knew i was his appoitment at 3:30pm, and he didn't seem to care much and he said NO! I guess pretty much he was lost himself. I have heard great ratings on this tinting business. But I am a business man and you got to treat everyone like a customer. That is my rating i know for everyone is different but for me and not the one to stay quiet. If they we're to have given me a great business just like I am writing a NEGATVIE review i would have a positive review. AT THE END OF THE DAY THE OWNER HAD NO CLUE ABOUT MY APPOINTMENT AND HE SEEM PRETTY LOST HIMSELF.
