I am writing to share a concerning experience I had during my recent visit to the Lynnwood Costco…read morelocation. As I approached the self-checkout area with only five items, I noticed an associate glance at my cart, change direction, and then proceed to follow me closely to the register. When I turned to ask why, the associate replied that he could help me scan my items--while continuing to focus on the two boxes of sneakers in my cart. I explained that I was fully capable of scanning my own purchases. The way this interaction unfolded felt intrusive and gave me the impression that I was being scrutinized, rather than assisted. It left me questioning whether I was being unfairly targeted as a paying member. I came simply to make a purchase, not to feel policed. I later spoke with a manager, Dominick, who was professional and empathetic. He explained that Costco has been encouraging associates to assist more at self-checkout. While I understand and respect that initiative--particularly for heavy or bulky items--the manner in which this situation occurred came across as forced, aggressive, and unnecessary. I value Costco and have always appreciated the high standards of service and integrity your company is known for. My hope is that this feedback will be used constructively so that assistance at checkout continues to feel helpful and welcoming, rather than suspicious or invasive.

My friend introduced me to WinCo as "It's like Costco, but you don't need a membership". He's…read moresomewhat right as it has a similar feel, but the portions aren't giant and the prices on many things are indeed competitive. The big attraction here is the Bulk section that has many options - rice, pasta, beans, grains and more. My frequently visited bulk section is the pet treats area. scored chew bones for the pup here at a great deal and less packaging than if I go someplace else. I like how they target us consumers with literal signs showing the price comparisons to the likes of Safeway, Walmart and my personal favorite Fred Meyer which is my main grocery shop and even some prices at WinCo beat them. At the same time, not EVERYthing at WinCo is a deal, or if it is lower, it is negligible. Sticking with the pet food, a 6 individual cans of Purina One, (my preferred) dog canned food is $1.85 here, down from $1.99 at Freddies, I'm all about saving money and frugality, but I couldn't imagine going out of the way for that. Alcohol here is actually more expensive that Freddies or otherwise here at $12.99 for Georgetown 6 packs, compared to $10.99 at Freddies. These are but a few measures, so I know there are deals to be had, but it pays to be a savvy shopper too. My hang ups here are they don't take Credit card. I'm sure that's to help cut down on their expense and middleman, etc. but that's annoying. Also I don't know if it's me but it just feels even more cramped in here than the already cramped markets, we all frequent. I felt like I was constantly blocking somebody even with my cart pulled all the way to the side. Beyond that WinCo is ok.

I had the most uncomfortable experience at the grocery outlet in lynnwood just today. I was spoken…read moreto rudely and profiled by this individual working in the frozen foods section and then as I walked away he kept following me and trying to make rude comments towards me. Basically here's what happened. I was walking thru the frozen foods and saw a single pack of White Castle sliders so I showed my buddy Eric like woahh we were just talking about sliders. Anyways I ended up putting it back (where I found it btw) and walked away to continue looking at the frozen foods section. The worker shown in the photos comes up to me and says "you know you can put it back where you found it so I don't have to fix that every 5 minutes" and then I said that's where I found it and walked away and then he said "typical of your people" and "you know what it's fine you're not the ONLY one to do this" in a sarcastic tone and then sighed and I walked away and when I continued shopping around the store I can see him eyeing me and following me around and making comments under his breathe. I ended up leaving the grocery store with my buddy Eric because we both had felt uncomfortable and just disrespected and we did not want to give business to this place. Honestly ruined my day and made me feel like I was doing some thing wrong but I know for a fact I wasn't doing anything wrong. I placed the castle sliders back where I found them. And he assumed that I was just misplacing it. Oh yeah and not to mention I saw him place the sliders like not even one feet down from where I placed it LOL. Anyways.
