I can't recommend using this business, they're repair/service price quotes where an exorbitant 60% higher than compared the Apple Store in Tigard OR for the exact same original battery service. That's in my opinion unfairly taking advantage of the local market. The service manager also clearly displayed an attitude when questioned about his pricing. Took my new Lenovo from Amazon in for diagnostics. Kevin informed me the mother board was shot, it worked about a week before I got the BSOD. It's still under warranty so he offered to send it in to Lenova for a processing fee or I could send it myself. I opted for connecting Point to send it in. Came back within a month, (this was during Xmas) he reinstalled Windows 11 Pro and set it up no charge except for shipping and processing. So far it is working great. Good job guys, especially Kevin. This is my third time purchasing from Connecting Point. I have bought a Macbook Pro there about 2014, and Ipad a few years later. Each time, I received very helpful guidance on my purchases after the technician and the sales person, Simon, asked questions to determine my use and storage needs from the computers. Also, our long-time computer guru , Derek, recommended Connecting Point to us in the first place. . We have never been disappointed. Sadly some folks try to use bad reviews to get unwarranted free merchandise or credit and then leave bad reviews that cannot be taken down. Not cool to hurt a local business this way, imo. They lied to me. For no reason and then denied then threatened to call the cops. They. sold me a Mac Mini that they said had never been used outside of a display type of item. but when I got it home there were work files and other personal data of somone they likely lied to for no reason as well. Integrity and emotional intelligence are no linger assets, it took me 60 years to have a few ounces those things and emotional maturity and I finally understand now its all a liability. Staff over the phone was very unpleasant as well as more than a little unprofessional during my interaction with him. I asked how much it would cost for them to clean out my iPhone's charging port as something appears to have gotten stuck inside and was stopping my phone from charging via the port. They said it would cost me $40 to have it looked at and there wasn't really much they could do with it regardless, and they would likely end up sending it to Apple to have the port replaced and refitted, which would cost quite a bit and leave me without a phone for at least a week. I ended up taking my phone to the store of my cell phone service provider who took a look at it, cleaned it professionally, solved the problem free of charge. TLDR, unpleasant employees, unprofessional behavior, and will try to squeeze every penny possible out of you if you let them. Go literally any place else with your tech issues. read more

I find this computer Store to be lacking of service knowledge and customer service. 1. Brought in an IPhone 7 which was having internal speaker problems. Was told there was an internal speaker/mic unit that was failing and I would have to have it repaired. I didn't have time as I was leaving town. A few days later I brought it into Apple Store. They fixed within 5 minutes- said the problem is resolved by using sone kind of sticky substance on speaker. They said it is a well known fix 2. Bright in. 27" monitor for consignment. THe sales person checked it out fully before I left. No calls in over 7 months. I called a few minutes ago and was told that they found it defective and put it in the back room. I told him I moved to Arizona. The guy said to come pick it up and hung up on me. I really hope Apple opens a store in the Medford area and puts these guys out of business. read more

After a tipped wine glass saturated my computer, Simon Barnes at Connecting Point helped me get back to normal. I did need to purchase a new computer but he was there to assist and provide information at each step. Simon is knowledgeable and personable. He is not pushy and continues to work with the customer until things are "right". I was not impressed with an individual who, I presume to be the owner or manager. Although Simon is completely capable of responding to customer queries, this individual kept interrupting our interaction in a most inappropriate manner. He did not appear to care about how his employee felt when he spoke over him etc. I tried to not let that influence my evaluation but it did. read more

First, the techs are pretty good- no complaints. The issues are with how it's run. If you need a repair they will stop you to "clean it" even though the CDC says this is NOT necessary. But while you wait for someone, everyone who walks in after you gets helped first. Also, they will ask you what's wrong with it then after you explain they hand your device to the tech only to AGAIN be asked to explain the issue- just super annoying and more of a waste of time. read more

I drove from Redding with an appt and got in early. The team was more then happy to assist me. Sanitation protocols were in place, masks worn properly. Great knowledgeable staff and since I have Apple care that expedited my situation. The team communicated well with me and called me with questions which I appreciated. Based on his treatment of me I would never do business with this location again. Because I was dressed as a painter (I paint houses for a living) he treated me like a scum bag. I have purchased so many apple products over the years and I know for a fact I make good money and plan to purchase more... but not from this location. They said they are unable to fix it. I put in a new 1 TB hard drive less than a year ago, I don't need a new hard drive. I can install a new battery myself when I need it. I echo all of the 1 star reviews. If I could give 0 stars I would. Con Artists best describe their work process. I called to see if they could assist with a broken screen for a MacBook Pro. I live 75 miles away and they are the closest Mac resource. When I called, they said they had the replacement screen in stock, to my surprise. So I said I'd drive up to pick it up and I could handle the swap. When I got there they wanted to check my laptop in. I explained I was just picking up the part. They looked in their system and confirmed the part was in stock and approximately $279. So I said great and I was very excited. The clerk went to get the part and came back and brought a tech. They explained they had the part but per Apple they'd have to do the repair. I asked how much and they said one hour of labor at $99. I figured my time is more valuable and it'd be done with warranty if it didn't work. They said they were back logged 1-3 days and to expect a call before 3 days. On day 4 I called. Totally different story. Price was now $599 for part which they don't have in stock. Don't stock the part. Never had the part. And then $99 labor and 3-5 days. I asked what had been done the last 1-4 days and why it wasn't done. The tech said they don't offer the part for $279. I said why did the guy when I called say you did, and had it in stock. Then the clerk confirmed after I drove 1.5 hours up. And confirmed it was $279 and in stock. Then the tech he brought up letting me know they'd have to do the repair also said it was in stock and $279 with $99 in labor and it's be done in 1-3 days. Now 4 days later, no part, but part jumped $320? The computer to replace on E Bay is $450-600. It's used and I'm not getting yanked around to pay $599 for a part that is on line for $50-300 used to new. I told the tech to put the part originally quoted in mt laptop and I'd be up to pick it up when done. I call yesterday, 2 weeks after originally dropped off and no work had been done. No part was ordered and no history of me talking to them. But now magically after I get frustrated there is a 3rd part $279 part. Likely a refrib oem screen. But again they've not ordered it and done no work. John, Jason, Jeff, all crooks. The chubby guy up front playing on his phone all day, useless. And I feel sorry for any tech working there cause they are being taught to be a scam. Go find another job. Apple I'm Portland it Simply MAC in Bend will bird you In a heart beat. They have been an absolute life saver as we adjust to homeschooling due to the closures. We called down to tell them what we needed and it was sanitized and ready to go for curbside pickup with all the programs we needed by 3:30 pm. I cannot express how much I appreciated the help. I will admit I am not incredibly Tech Savy, but they never made me feel silly for asking something I didn't understand. The customer service was excellent and the service tech treated me as if I was the only customer in the building and very attentive. My hard drive on my Mac died last night trying to update, and since this is my work computer, I needed something done quickly. I had used Connecting Point for an issue a couple of years ago, so I went in as soon as they opened (on a Saturday). I took the 27" Mac into the service counter, and was greeted immediately, then approached by a service tech asking about the problem. I am not a tech guy (I have learned by doing on a variety of computers), but knew it could be a big problem since my unit was 8 years old. They told me upfront about the $30 diagnostic fee, and what they thought might be the issue. They also said it might be a few days, with a holiday on Monday, but I have a backup for the essentials, so I was okay with that. Les Lawrence was the tech, and he called an hour or so later and said it was definitely the hard drive, which needed to be replaced. I gave the okay, and he had it ready by 2 pm. I was a little nervous, as I read some things online that talked about formatting the hard drive, installing the OS, etc., but when I went in I asked what was going to happen when I turned it on - the rep at the counter said Les had installed the OS, upgraded to High Sierra, and I just needed to install any programs I had. Big relief! I ended up paying about $300 for the whole thing, but it was done quickly and apparently competently (I am typing this on the repaired unit!), so I am happy. 8 years for a computer is pretty good, and with a new hard drive I should be good for a few more. They also offered to apply what I paid to additional charges if I wanted help with downloading my files or recovering data from my old hard drive, but I am in the process of restoring the files and keeping my fingers crossed! All in all, Connecting Point exceeded my expectations and I feel that I got a good value for my money. I recommend them. read more

It is a real bummer that this store is the only authorized Apple service center in S. Oregon. In the future I will see my computer issues as a good excuse for a road trip to Portland, and take my business up there. I brought in my MacBook Pro for repairs: the technician listened to the symptoms I described, but wrote down what he wanted to hear. I didn't feel confident when I left that they really understood the problem. Two weeks after getting my machine back, the same problem started happening. Now I am in China and have to travel 1hr 45min by train to the nearest Apple store. When I used their on-line comment service to describe my issue and ask for some guidance, all I got in response was a .pdf of my service invoice. No apology or further assistance. read more

I am a big believer in shopping local. I wish I would have resisted the urge a few months ago when I decided to purchase $2,700.00 in Mac-ware from Connecting Point rather than buying online or going to Portland. The initial transaction of buying the products didn't have any "big" issues, just a minor one (I was not told I would need an adapter to connect my new model MacBook Air to the slightly older version of the 27" Thunderbolt display, so had to go to Portland to get the adapter after setting up my system). Everything pretty much went okay and they agreed to take my American Express card, which normally they don't like to do because it costs them more for the transaction fee. I get that. It was nice of them to take it. That's about all I can say for the positive side of it. Apple was doing a promo this summer when I bought my computer where if you purchased certain products directly from Apple (read: full boat retail), you get a $50.00 gift card to Apple/itunes etc. Well, Connecting Point (also selling at full boat retail) decided it'd be wise to do the same thing. But, their $50 was only good for 90 days, at their store. I moved away for school before I even got the card in the mail and have been gone since at school where there is no Connecting Point, and the card expired. I went in yesterday since I'm home on break, to see if there was any way they would still honor it. No. Not even a chance. He was slightly apologetic but with zero interest in trying to retain me as a customer. I'm not an idiot. I realize $50, in the grand scheme of life is not a big deal, but when you're full time law student on an extremely limited budget, $50 IS a big deal. Sure, I'm not going to starve or anything since I can't use my gift card but the lack of logic in it even having an expiration date or them not being willing to even negotiate with me is ridiculous. I'd love to know what their profit margin is on selling Apple full retail. I'm pretty certain that $50, wouldn't even be felt. My boyfriend, a long-time well-educated Mac user, tried to talk me out of going to Connecting Point due to his multiple disappointments in their service, knowledge and customer care over the years. I have another friend who was completely hosed on a laptop she purchased from them a few years back and did not support me purchasing from them. I wish I had listened. I should have spent my dollars elsewhere. I think that because they the only game in the region, it has made them pretty self-important. That's definitely the feeling I have from them. I will no longer spend my dollars at Connecting Point. Such a bummer. I really want to support our local businesses. I was working remote, with my normal office being in Texas, and my computer lost power. It wouldn't charge. I took it in to the store and the guy working the counter immediately found a problem with my power cord. He didn't try to sell me a new one and was able to repair my cord in minutes. And he didn't even charge me for the repair. It saved my work day and I was very impressed. Great customer service! read more

Bought my Mac Desktop from John, in 2016 and was having problems with updating pages, numbers & Keynotes and he researched and told me my password need to be corrected with Apple Support. Got three different prices for a service in now day. Waited 6 weeks for a repair on a desktop, had to call once a week to check in, still they lagged, didn't care for my inconvenience, didn't fix the problem. Could go on and on. Since this is the only place within like 200 miles that can sell and repair Apple products, I had to take my 2011 MacBook Air here. I had tried to update the OS and it completely destroyed my computer. It was completely unusable unless I had a professional fix it. Oh also the battery exploded. So my keyboard was totally puffed up, that was fun. So I took it here and after paying them some sort of ridiculous fee to even LOOK at it and see what the problem even was... And then paying them another 200 dollars to fix it and replace the battery... I'm sort of unhappy. I'm happy that my computer works of course, and nothing was erased on it. I'm extremely grateful for that. But this new battery totally sucks. First, it took them almost 2 months to get this done, with NO communication with me at all about what was happening. I would wait days and days and days and a few weeks, only to call them myself and find out what's going on, and I would talk to a different person every time. I thought one person was fixing my computer but so many different people were dealing with it, who the hell knows who actually got it done. They ordered THE WRONG BATTERY the first time so I had to wait weeks longer. What the hell???? It takes almost no time to charge my computer all the way to 100% but it also takes about 15 minutes for it to get to 5%. I'm so not happy about this. God forbid I go to work and forget my charger. I can't get ANYTHING done. And like I said, they really never called me about anything. I had to call them myself a few times to see what was going on. The last time I did, I was finally fed up with waiting for it to be done, and he goes "Oh yeah it's done, you can come get it." ...Um... Seriously? How long has it just been sitting waiting for me to come get it? Hmmmmmm. I should have just bitten the bullet and gone to the Mac Store in Eugene and asked them about my problem... read more

AVOID USING THIS PLACE FOR SERVICE FOR YOUR MAC! Brought in a macbook pro that was under warranty and had screen issues. Apple contacted this company directly for me to setup the repair. No one here acknowledged even talking to Apple or knowing about my issue...um ok thats weird but please fix my computer. The company replaced the logic board and the screen, a lot for a system that was less than a month old. Picked it up 4 days later only to have the entire system die less than 24 hours later. Was not going to give my system back to this place and sent it into Apple for repair. I used this place because they are suppose to be a certified apple repair store. The closest Apple Store to me is hours away so this was the next best option to get a speedy repair, well that was not done and it put me without a system for almost 2 weeks. The talks on the phone with these guys in the beginning were shady and the repair work was junk. I don't think they gave it much effort at all for it to completely die 24 hours after they released it. Maybe their good at fixing PC's, but for Macs I would STAY AWAY! read more

We have had great customer service with these guys. When my husband had issues with his IphoneX they triaged and repaired it within minutes (thankfully an easy fix). They recently repaired my 5 year old Mac laptop as well. They tried to run an initial diagnostic check on my Mac when I arrived. It wouldn't load (part of the problem) so they kept it for additional testing. Noah called within a few hours to let me know the issue, cost to repair, and timeline needed to do so. If you own a computer that needs repair the likelihood of it being cheap is low- accept that fact or go buy a new computer/tablet. Ours needed a new portion of the motherboard. They had the piece overnighted and our computer was ready for pickup within 48hrs. They backed up everything as well to our new external hard drive and provided recommendations on how we can do so for our business needs. We'll only be using this place from now on for our Apple products. Repairing electronics this day an age isn't cheap. They're great to have around when In a pinch! read more

I have never written a review on yelp before, but I had to after my horrible interaction with the employees at Connecting Point. The worker seemed to be angry while talking to us and didn't explain well as he used technical language expecting us to understand - I didn't, (even though I am fairly "tech-savvy"). They make it seem as if they are doing a favor by helping us, even though it is their job. I brought my laptop in to be repaired and they did extra work on it without permission. It almost seems as if they are withholding information to make a profit. I have never had a good experience here. Even when calling to ask for the availability of a certain product, a rude and bitter voice would reply. Horrible customer service. Horrible repairs. I wish there was a different local business that sold apple products, but I guess Best Buy or apple.com will suffice. read more

I recently went into connecting point looking to purchase a new laptop for school. I am not very computer savvy or knowledgeable so i figured they would help me best decided what i needed. Boy was i wrong! The associate who was helping me did not listen to my computer needs but proceeded to try and talk me up into a Mac Book that was far outside my budget, when i explained this he proceeded to try and sell me on the most expensive laptop they had, which had gaming capabilities i assured him i did not need. I left very frustrated. I would like to give a shout out to Scott Farmer who assisted me in a purchase of an apple watch. He was patient, informative and I appreciate his no-pressure style. He saved me much frustration because he took the time to inquire about my cell phone carrier. I learned that my carrier does not support apple watch and I needed to change carriers. I know it would have been very frustrating if I purchased the watch and then could not connect my phone. While I delayed my purchase until after I switched carriers, I returned to Connecting Point because of Scott's service and prior past good service. read more

I bought a brand "new" Mac Book out of the box (it was supposedly new) but when I got home and opened it, it had a scratch on the case. I brought it back the very next day with a receipt, expecting to exchange it for what I paid for - a new, undamaged notebook. They refused, offering to send it in to get me a refurbished one instead(which I assume it was, since it was damaged.) I had it one day and never used it. My initial quote was $700 to repair my MacBook Pro, but on arrival for my pickup (which was only 2 days after checking in I might add) they said they had contacted Apple who ended up covering the repair and all I owed was labor.
