They have longanisa musubis!!…read more I would come back just for that! Finally can get my longanisa fix on the go and its bomb! For ppl who don't know longanisa is a filipino pork sausage they eat for breakfast but it is a sweet sausage. Its a pain in the ass to make because you gotta pan fry it then cook it with water but it splatters EVERYWHERE. So I end up not making it cause its a mess. Longanisa and tosino has the same flavor profile. If you have a sweet tooth you'll love it. Most of their drinks seem to have some kind of crema or milk so I opted to make my own, tea with flavors and popping oats. Not bad, no complaints.

We have been going to Noodle Bar (NB) for a few years now. They are still in a very narrow strip…read moremall with somewhat limited parking, but we have been able to get a spot every time. The area is still pretty sketchy and since COVID there is still no seating at the restaurant so plan to get your food to go and take it back to a safe place to enjoy it--we do not recommend eating in you car. We tried that before and the homeless people walking by made it super uncomfortable. On this visit, a guy who belonged in a psychiatric hospital was yelling so loud while crossing the street that two of us left NB to go outside and see what the problem was--just a sick man yelling so went back inside. Despite all that, NB does great business, and as other Yelpers have noted, NB food quantity is still very good for the price. Prices have gone up but not as bad as elsewhere and it is still a good deal for what you get. The food quality really depends on personal taste. We live in San Gabriel, so there is no shortage of stellar Asian food there and NB cannot compete. However, we really like NB's curry chicken. Their noodle dishes really vary in quality, but none of them are bad, all are at least ok, and some are good. This time we also got a chow mien. It was basically fried ramen noodles, not chow mien noodles. It was not stellar, but hey we still liked the flavor and enjoyed it. We tried for the first time the catfish nuggets. It is basically what is called salt and pepper fish filet elsewhere, but with catfish at NB. It's fried, salty fish so what's not to like. It comes with what appeared to be sweet chili sauce, but we did not try that. Business was so good that after trying to call in our order twice, which we definitely recommend doing, no one answered. We drove over and put in our order in person and saw that they were super busy--the lady taking orders missed at least one call in just while taking our order in person. Her and the people cooking were working super hard--massive props and respect to them for working hard to create a successful and long standing business in the community. We will definitely be back again and definitely recommend you give them a try. I believe the only or best (lol) menu photos were the ones I posted about 3 years ago and so I am posting and update if those with this revues and to their business. Last thoughts, they are cash only so come prepared, they have boba drinks, and they have dessert (never tried that). Give them a try!

Coffee and coffee drinks are available and rival Starbucks in their variety and "fun" trends. But they also fresh grind different beans and can do classic coffees (like pour over and cappuccino). Go to Plumes if you want to feel like a normal human being connecting with your community. Some may disagree with my 5 star rating because the quality of food is disappointing to pretty much everyone, but to me this place fits the bill of a real and welcoming coffee shop where the barista remembers your order and you know the owner's name and hobbies. There are a half dozen other breakfast spots in town that we enjoy when we are in Monterey - we blew all of them off. This place is too fast and too good, honestly to want to get in the car and head over to any of those other spots. Is this place fancy? No. Is this place big? No! Its tiny! Is the food gourmet? No! Stop asking questions. The food is delicious and hot. The coffee and tea is yummy and hot. Everything is hot. The people are super friendly and hot. I like how real they are too - it's Saturday at 6am, everyone is dragging. I asked the people behind the counter how they were doing and they were (gasp) honest! We don't want to be here! Getting to work at 5am on Saturday is terrible but I respect and appreciate a human response. I really like this place - even the pastries are good and thats a good thing because we bought a bunch of them. I will end with this and then leave you alone - we left this place at 615am and sat down in the main grandstand in Turn 4 at Laguna Seca at 715am to watch epic Historic car racing and sank my teeth into a HOT and beautiful croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon in it in the heavy fog. Everything was wet and cold - I drank my hot tea and ate my food.... and it was simply glorious. Thank you to the real humans at Plumes. Yall rock.

Also, the bottle of water I later got didn't seem to cost an arm and a leg, either. My husband did have and like the French toast coffee. Service seemed quick and they are very nice. They didn't mess anything up and they specifically only put the food items you ask for on the bagels. I've been other places where they put tons of pepper on my sandwiches and it's been impossible for me to eat and enjoy. They have ample seating inside with very soft music and a restroom for their customers.
