You placed your documents into a plastic garbage can and then they loaded that into a truck. There were a bunch of things that you couldn't place into the truck like batteries. I was asked not to add red welds which makes sense because they are thick. I saw a man try to put some weird wet documents into the bin and he was asked to remove them because they could possibly cake up the shredding apparatus. Despite all of this, the representative from the company patiently assisted everyone with an upbeat spirit. My neighbors love that event and are very thankful for it. They love it so much. They always put it on my calendar. It is a great community service and the gentleman from USA Shred was patient, courteous and very helpful. If you are considering a public-facing shredding event or need to shred significant amounts of documents, this place is a good option!

I started calling the number on my confirmation this morning and the calls kept getting routed to the New Jersey location. They couldn't tell me anything and said the people in the Elmsford office probably weren't in yet and the calls were defaulted to them. Got someone to give me a direct number to Elmsford and it still was picked up from someone in New Jersey. Finally talked to Michaela in Elmsford who said I was on the schedule and they would be there between 12 and 3. Took me an hour to find that out. Of course no one showed up or called. I called at 4:15 (of course someone in New Jersey answered again) but finally after about 5 separate calls and attempts to transfer me where I was hung up on, someone was nice enough to stay on the phone until he could track down and transfer me the Michaela. She said they were running late but not to worry, they would still be there. Of course no one showed up. Seriously doubt they will even call to reschedule. These people have no qualms wasting your time, so don't waste yours with them.

When I called the office, the staff was pleasant and helped me right away, just like I remembered. Unfortunately, my recent experience did not meet the high standard I had come to expect. I was not informed of the price or given a quote in advance. In the past, I was simply billed after the service, so this process was new to me. I understand that prices may have increased over time, but the way the situation was handled felt disappointing. When I spoke with the staff, the tone became dismissive. I asked to speak with the owner for clarification, but my call was never transferred. It truly saddens me to share this because I have had wonderful experiences with Time Shred in the past. I hope they take this feedback to heart and return to the warmth, communication, and professionalism that once made their service stand out.

I had an excess amount of unnecessary papers and files to shred (approx. 150 lbs) and I called around and found a great company called Time Shred to help me. They send a man right to your door and have a 96 gallon container (which holds up to 300lbs). I posted this on my "building link" and received over 5 replies. One of my neighbors had about the same amount of papers so we shared the expense (about $ 100.00 per person). They load your papers onto the truck and you watch on the monitor and witness it all being shred in about 10 minutes! They give you a certificate of completion at the end. This is the most inexpensive, hassle free and secure method of shredding in bulk, ( I researched many options before doing this). If you need their services call Megan, the Manager (she is very helpful) at 212-359-0643 , and she will walk you through the process and options. A great experience this morning. Get rid of the clutter folks, it's a New Year!
