For this visit, some people in my group ordered the matcha waffle: matcha silky cream, chocolate drizzle, topped with fresh strawberries, while others including myself got the ube waffle: ube silky cream, drizzled condensed milk, and topped with fresh blueberries, bananas, raspberries, and coconut shavings. By default, these were on the liege waffle which is personally my favorite since it has a crispy and caramel like consistency. The ube cream was very creamy and smooth. The condensed milk was a great touch, as it acted like a syrup. The fresh fruits helped balance out the sweetness. The matcha one was also good. It reminded me a little of the dubai chocolate combination, mostly because of the colors. I've been seeing them add more and more drinks to the menu - mostly ones that resemble the waffle flavors. The prices have not changed much and they're still reasonable for the quality and quantity. There is plenty of seating in the lower area of their store. It is off of Thayer street so depending on the day, parking can be tough.

I ordered the crème brûlée coffee, and while it wasn't bad, it mostly just tasted like regular coffee without that rich, dessert like flavor you'd hope for. On the other hand, the tiramisu latte was actually really delicious. Honestly, I wish I could order a whole cake of just the tiramisu, it was the highlight for me. You definitely get more cake than the coffee, but it worked in its favor and tasted much better than the crème brûlée drink. It was nice to try, especially since everything looks so aesthetically pleasing, but it feels more like a place you visit for the vibe rather than a go to coffee run.

The gentleman behind the breakfast bar was very nice and ensured the coffee was full at all times! The breakfast nachos were filling and the fresh fruit was delicious! Definitely worth a stop if you find yourself exploring the Cape!

I chose a 'Build Your Own Three Egg Omelette', with grated Cheddar, broccoli & sauteed onions, one piece each of Cinnamon Raisin & Light Rye toast. The egg mixture was a bit thin; more milk than egg ratio, but the omelette ingredients, fresh! Ask for dry toast, if you don't want/like margarine, & ask Tiffany to fetch real butter, instead. I asked for a bit of the 'not-so-secret' spice blend used for other dishes, & was pleasantly surprised... not too spicy, just right, even w/tumeric ! Only a few people seated when I walked in, but within 10 minutes of sitting, all the tables were filled with locals... only a few bar stools remained open. Casual, homey, non-invasive interior, decorated in red tones... Burnt Sienna mixed with Red, Cran-Red curtains, fits well in w/the land of Cranberry bogs. Chris, "today's chef", manned the grill. Tiffany, front house mgr/server, gave me time to decide what piqued my taste buds, and then was prompt with coffee, honey, & breakfast! Sweet gal. Currently owned solely by Patrick 'Nick' Morey, Ruggies was created by Matt Rocco & himself, named after Matt's "grandfather, who played semi-pro football, back in the day". All the road work going on MA 28 was also incentive, as we could get there without traveling on it from where we were staying. We were also told several times to get their grilled breads (if you weren't gluten-free, of course). The complimentary coffee in the waiting area was a nice tough as well. It certainly lived up to the recommendations. We had maybe a 3 minute wait for a table on a busy Friday morning. There were lots of specials on the blackboards on the side wall. Coffee came out quickly; it was piping hot and mellow, with very frequent refills. I did try the bread, an apple-cranberry, grilled/toasted medium with a pat of butter for extra yum. I opted for the hash Benedict with fruit instead of potatoes. I got potatoes by mistake anyway, but they immediately brought over the fruit. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the Hollandaise was flavorful, and the hash was crisp and not greasy at all. Now it's my turn to be a good friend and pass the recommendations forward for others.
