Chili footlong with no onions with fries.
Chris S.

I stop in once a month for a chili footlong and fries. I admit it's a childhood favorite. They are fast and good bringing back childhood memories.

4.5 stars rounding up Oddly not a very busy place Lots of selections Great tasting food at very decent prices and the proportion size is great. I will return

Dropped by with our kids, food was great, we had a chili dog, a Chicago dog, a corn dog, a burger and the honey teriyaki boneless wings. Fries as well. Fries were standard cut fries but still pretty crispy. Highly recommend the Chicago dog and the corn dog, we picked the foot-long versions, they have smaller as well. It happened to be an event night. Right now on the first Thursday of the month they host a car show. It was a treat for my boys to check out the cars! I'm giving 5 stars, it's not gourmet food but it's exactly what it's supposed to be and it's delicious. Highly reccomend for a causal night out. Kids fit right in.

Was visiting the hospital near by and saw this and caught my eye. Located in what looks like was an old gas station. They offer a drive thru and a sit down area. I used the sit down area inside and there is a ton of racing and car themed decoration which was nice to look at. The employees were super nice, prices were cheap for what you get and the place seemed really clean only thing I disliked was the floors felt a bit slippery. The restaurant caters to hotdogs and fried food. I had the Chicago dog and the chili and onion and it was amazing and soo good, if I had time I would have had three. I paid 10bucks for two dogs and a drink to include tip. I would strongly suggest you visit, it seemed a bit busy but they served me in less than 5 mins.

From the outside it looks like a repurposed gas station. Inside is cute. Order at the counter and they call your name when it's ready. Prices are very reasonable and the food was great. I had the Friday night 6-piece shrimp meal The coleslaw and fries were delicious and the shrimp was good too. Tartar sauce was more like a seasoned mayo. Pepsi products. Both men and ladies bathrooms were out of order.

Wasn't sure about the drive thru because I never see anyone in line & it looks like an old drive thru car was since the building looks like a convenience gas station.

The Southern burger was great, but I tossed off the raw onions as I absolutely hate them, and added the lovely pickled onions from my wife's salad, which gave the perfect amount of flavor and color. Don't you agree? Give me a LIKE if you do !!! The crepe was next level. Delicate crepe, very soft ripe bananas, sauce was not disgustingly sugary, and the vanilla ice cream was smooth and soft, not icy and sweet. Dunno what brand they use, or if they churn the cream fresh in-house, but it made my day.

There are lots of delightful restaurants there (according to yelpers) but many were located downtown and parking was hard to find so we decided to go to Fifth Avenue Streatery since we had driven by and there was lots of parking. All of which the tables are outside on a charming patio with lots of interesting decor. It was 11:30 so the day was pleasant and sitting outside was fine. Not sure how I would feel about that in August. Our waitress was Haley (guessing at the spelling) and she was bubbly and very attentive. The menu wasn't overwhelming and I always think that's a good sign that most of the food is being prepared fresh and not pulled from a freezer. My mom ordered the fish sandwich with tomato and cucumber salad. After ordering the Italian Haley said they were out of beef until the owner arrived so I went for the day's special which was a seafood basket: two pieces of fried fish, four huge shrimp and clam strips. Clam strips are not my favorite but these were very crisp and tasty. It was served with fries and cold slaw. We both agreed the food was very good. I asked for some cocktail sauce and after a few minutes she came back with saying she had to make some. It was fantastic, very horseradish forward which I loved. I am glad we couldn't locate our first two choices since we got to eat at this funky little place and have the best server in all of Mt. Dora.

The bartender was extremely nice and did a great job and the place was clean and kept up. The only reason I'm leaving 4 stars is because of our treatment by one of the locals when we walked in. We saw on Facebook that they do bingo on certain nights, so we were excited to check it out. As soon as we stepped in the door, a white haired lady asked us if we were here for bingo. We said yes and then she asked if we had reservations. No ma'am, we didn't realize we needed reservations for bar bingo when there was plenty of seating available as far as we could see. She then proceeded to harass us, telling us we couldn't sit at any of the tables or even at the bar! Nothing was marked as reserved. She then told us to go ask the bingo lady where we're allowed to sit. This all seemed so easily avoidable if they had "reserved" signs or even state on their Facebook page ad that reservations are needed. When we asked the bingo lady, she told us to sit at the bar. Then the initial white haired lady continued to harass us by asking us if we're sure we're sitting in the right place because those seats are usually reserved for the locals. WOW, she was A LOT and we were so overwhelmed before we could even put in a food/drink order! We almost just walked out due to feeling so uncomfortable and unwanted by the locals in there. But I'm glad we did stay because the food was good. I'm not sure we'll ever be back for bingo, though.

The road (S Highland St.) can be busy. There are adjacent parking lots across the streets in front and on the brewery side (Liberty Ave and S Highland St.). It seems easier to park there and can help make entering the roadway much easier. Kat took care of us. She answered any questions we had. She was knowledgeable about the menu and even made food and drink recommendations. We had shareable appetizers and also ordered individual meals. I sampled the Kettle Chips and the Abbey Nachos. The Kettle Chips were absolutely delicious. They wee fresh and beautifully seasoned. I ordered the Sanctum Steak & Egg from the Brunch menu. Brunch is available Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm. Side options included Tater Tots or Fruit. I opted for the Tater Tots. The Sanctum Steak & Egg was assembled on a Brioche Bun with a generous serving of Bellringer Aioli. The sandwich was flavorful and very filling. The Tater Tots too were fresh and perfectly seasoned. They were hot, crispy and delicious. I indulged in the Lavender Dream Drop seasonal cocktail. My only complaint was that the glass it was served in was not big enough. There was a good balance and taste of the vodka, lemon juice and housemade lavender syrup. I would definitely return to Eden Abbey for a few repeat flavors and an opportunity to try other menu items. I inadvertently and accidentally deleted the food pics! I was photo dumping and must have deleted by mistake. SMH Well, guess that means I have to visit again to get more pictures.

Super welcoming, incredibly attentive, and made us feel right at home from the jump. We split the pretzels with beer cheese, nachos, and kettle chips. The others in my group loved their Bloody Marys and martinis, too. The kitchen pace was a tad slow. If you come here, bring good friends and a little patience.
