I have been coming to this location for several years. Last two times I have been I ended up leaving. Was waiting in line for more than a few minutes and the only thing one of the employees said to me was "What's up?" but then crickets. I was upset and an employee perhaps the manager did talk to me and said they were sorry and the meal was on the house but .... I work and do not take charity. This has always been a favorite for a great coney. However on May 28th, we had our normal great food. Staff friendly but into my first coney they had rap music on and the singer if you'd call him that dropped the F bomb. We picked up our food and left never to come back. Another couple with a young child also left. Too bad such a nice place ruined their reputation and future business by allowing such disturbing music which ran away business. read more

If you're a first timer here is what you get: - A soda - 2-4 hot dogs, Toppings: Chili (yes, onion (yes), shredded cheddar (yes), mustard (meh, some people will tell you this is a must) - chips if you want them. Got it? Now go find a table, it's just around the corner from ordering, if there isn't a completely empty table, just sit with someone already there, they shouldn't mind. On the table you'll find a red powder in a shaker, use it, this is cayenne pepper and it makes these go from average to superb. I hope you like it! She also said that in all of the years they have stayed consistent and haven't changed a bite. I love these little hotdogs. I prefer just chili and cheese. If you have never had a coney before, know this, coney chili is a little thinner and more tangy than a normal chili some people love it some people hate it. Another excellent menu item is the tamales. I get them smothered in chili with cheese on top. They also have chili three way though I have never tried it. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The dinning room section also has a word scramble puzzle. They are usually quotes. I like to sit and figure out the puzzle while eating my coneys. I guess I'll throw my hat in here. I'm sure it's not healthy. I'm sure it's probably got stuff in it that I don't want to know about. But they sure do taste good. The first "Coney" I ever had was back on the east coast, in a town called Cumberland, Maryland. What was so funny about it, from what I've heard, was that the two brothers who owned it got into a fight, which lead to one of the brothers opening up a shop two or three doors down from the other, serving the exact same thing. As far as I know, they are both still there today. The other thing about those Coney's was there was no cheese to be seen. I had never even heard of such a thing until I got to Tulsa. My relatives who come to visit are just shocked that you would ever put cheese on a coney. Now, as a Tulsan who has moved and returned, I can tell you I used to crave these stupid hot dogs more than you can know. My Mom would meet me at the plane with a order of them. Are they great? Coney I-Lander is a solid choice. They don't have a whole lot of options, but the ones they do are awesome! I usually get two conies with chili, cheese, and onion. (For those who don't know, a coney is just a very small hot dog with simple toppings.) The sides are just chips, which is fine. This store is convenient because it's on 11th and is good for when you're around TU. In fact, I see students walking to and from this fine establishment all the time. The only downsides are (again) it's a pretty limited menu and that it can get pretty packed before TU games.
