I came across this coffee shop a while back and any time I'd be in the area and needed to do some work I'd choose this place due to its aesthetic atmosphere. However..... their customer service is horrible. I want to say it's been maximum five visits I have made to this shop and every time it's not the best. I felt the service got worse with time. I came in today around 3:30pm since I needed to wait some time before meeting friends for dinner down the street. Thought I'd give it another chance and definitely confirmed this place has no hope. The guy at the register was too into his conversation with the female barista that it took him a minute to direct himself to me as I waited by the register. From the moment he directed himself to me he clearly was not interested in engaging and had the most apathetic attitude. I understand working at coffee shops is the "vibe" but acting like you're too good to engage with your customers is not it. This is the same issue I have come across with this staff. Super cute little coffee shop that I stopped at on a pit stop! I ordered a hot matcha w/ almond milk + honey and a yummy GF/VG Chocolate donut for a little snack. Service was friendly and fast. I'm not familiar with the area but this seemed like a hot spot for students studying and a co-working space to post up at and get your work done while getting your caffeine fix for the day. I came in on March 26 and ordered the browned butter latte and a chocolate chip cookie and I must say that cookie was the BEST cookie I have ever had. I wish I was exaggerating. My favorite study spot. It's usually packed here and can occasionally be difficult to find a table, but they tend to open up fairly quickly. My go to order is the Iced Matcha Latte with lavender syrup! It is hands down the best matcha i've tried in the IE. Though I will say that the last few times, the matcha flavor was not as strong as usual. I usually hate asking for a drink to be remade, but the staff is super nice and added more matcha syrup for me. They also have solid food items if you come before 1pm (don't quote me on the hot food item cut off time) -- my favorites are the breakfast burrito and the turkey pesto sandwich. I come here all the time, probably multiple times a week. I barely realized the other day that I've never even left a review for my FAVORITE coffee shop! I actually tried one of their food items for the first time too yesterday. I always order the iced matcha with oat milk and vanilla extra sweet or the iced chai with oat milk and vanilla. During my first visit, I remember walking in and being amazed by the decor and style of the cafe. It is really aesthetically pleasing. The cafe was busy, crowded with students and people just working in their laptop and chatting. I remember getting a matcha, although I don't remember how it was like. The staff were friendly to my friend and I. We enjoyed it. This is my second visit. I wanted to get the matcha again but unfortunately, a sign was posted on the door saying they were out. I went in anyway. Cafe was not crowded and there were few people seated, working. I was unsure of what to get, so I asked the barista what she recommended. She was really vague with her response but ultimately said the brown sugar cinnamon latte. I asked if it was good iced and she said yes. I got that. Price was reasonable, which was $7 with some change. My drink was ready quickly, I didn't have to wait. This was around 8 am. Once trying it, I was impressed. The drink was good! My experience here has been mixed, on my first visit, the male staff member taking my order seemed uninterested and was a bit rude when I asked about the menu. However, my next two visits were better, with friendlier service from the female staff. Didn't taste much of the orange at all. The apricot scone was whatever. It seems that scones in general just don't have that buttery flakiness that they used to have when I was a kid & that's so sad. Came in here yesterday for the first time ever and this place is a gem! We got the brown sugar cinnamon iced latte I believe with the scone and almond cinnamon roll. Highly recommend the scone the flavor match was incredible. I really enjoyed that their coffee actually tasted like coffee but was still sweet enough to enjoy! I will definitely be returning. Needed some afternoon caffeine and there were a few coffee shops in the area. I just chose this one randomly. It's a cute place and had a bunch of college students sitting with laptops. The barista must have been having a bad day and looked miserable with a sour face. I was still standing at the register as she poured my black cold brew, then walked right past me with my drink in her hand, and set it down in the pick up area opposite where I was standing and mumbled "cold brew" before shuffling away. I just came to Condron Coffee and ordered a cold brew with pistachio foam. I was debating on whether to get coffee or matcha but after I had saw that they pre-make the matcha and put it in a squeeze bottle I chose to go with a cold brew. The staff were all friendly and they made my drink fast since it was just plain cold brew and pistachio foam. After drinking my drink I noticed that the cold brew was sour, like when coffee goes bad. I don't know how you can be out of a drink 10-15 minutes after opening consistently (in the same week) and also have such poor customer service skills to not offer to make something comparable to save the sale. Condron is one of the best craft coffee shops in riverside and the greater IE. They have some similarities to arcade coffee roasters which is the other great coffee shop in town. Both have really unique seasonal coffees and tea which keeps me coming back and a minimal esthetic. For Conderon ironically I mostly mainly come for seasonal coffee. Summer favorite is the strawberry honey. They have an orange latte I believe is in the fall time which would be my second favorite. I look at their Instagram to see when new flavors come out to determine when to stop by. They have other great regular coffee, but those are the two that stand out for me. I would like to say the other ones I get are brown sugar and honey cinnamon latte. Great coffee shops and experience. read more
