Anyone considering using Conditioned Air, do your self a favor and DO NOT USE this service for any Air Conditioning service. I called Conditioned Aire last month because my AC System was spewing out warm Air. I called Conditioned Aire because earlier this year, through another building resident, Bryan Martinez of Conditioned Aire did a service call for $128 for a neighbor of mine whose furnace kept tripping the circuit breaker, and for just the fee of a service call for around $125, I forget the exact amt, he replaced some frayed wiring, and my neighbors furnace and A/C continues to work Fine. I called Conditioned Aire, telling in no uncertain terms who ever in their office I spoke to that, due to some unexpected recent other large bills, I only wanted the A/C Unit repaired, and I was willing to invest a few thousand dollars if necessary, but I was in no position to replace the entire unit, both the A/C & Furnace, at the present time. I made arrangements for the roof to the building be opened and Bryan Martinez cam in a day or two. He went up to the roof himself, did not even take up to the roof with him the A/C diagnostic equipment, the ones with the red and blue colored hoses to do some sort of check on the A/C system from the compressor. He comes down to me a little while latter, saying that I needed several thousand dollars worth of repairs, never told me an exact dollar amount, and reading the exact wording from the invoice, due to cost of repair, phased out refrigerant, and age of unit recommended system replacement for roughly $14,000, and even offered me financing for the 14 K cost. I declined, paid him the service call of $128, and called in a different HVAC Company I had used previously. The other HVAC Company I called after Conditioned Aire, went up to the roof , bringing with him the A/C testing Apparatus I previously mentioned here, the ones with the red & blue colored hoses. He came down to me shortly after, and said I didn't need a new A/C & Furnace, but rather all that was necessary was some new refrigerant, and sealant for $679, and a 2 month guarantee, that if the refrigerant didn't continue working or leaking, I'd get a credit towards a new system for only $10,000, not the $14,000 that Bryan of Conditioned Aire wanted to fleece me out of. I asked the Tech from this other HVAC Company, why Conditioned Aire didn't even suggest adding new refrigerant rather than replace the entire system, he told me a HVAC Company would rather sell you an entire new A/C & Furnace System for $10,000 Plus rather than just perform a service call & add new refrigerant & sealant for around $700. My advice to you is BUYER BEWARE, Do not even considering calling Bryan Martinez/Conditioned Aire for Anything! read more

After being stood up for confirmed appointments by two well known AC repair companies who advertise on TV constantly, I was driving up Laurel Canyon behind two Condition Aire trucks and figured what can I lose and called for an appointment. Was a great decision! Victor showed up right on time and after completing an inspection concluded the loud nose was due to multiple failures. The AC condenser was beyond repair. With the significant replacement price I had many questions and Victor and his supervisor promptly answered all my concerns. I scheduled the installation as soon as possible since we are in record heatwaves right now but nothing was available earlier than a couple weeks away. We have a PureAir system that requires additional steps to replace the filter and UV Bulb so some company's claim they are familiar with it but they either struggle figuring how to service it or even ask for pictures. We have been satisfied customers of Conditioned Aire for 25 Years. They replaced our air conditioner in 1995. We had their bi/yearly service which is so worth it. The air conditioner was still working but our 41 year old furnace gave out. We decided to replace everything. Unfortunately it was at their busiest time and we had to wait 2 weeks before they could install the new system. I have COPD and I'm on Oxygen 24/7 and I also had a sprained ankle. Tristan suggested that they buy a portable air conditioner for my room. Bret approved it and I was comfy in my room at 72 degrees for the waiting period. Jo did the installation and all went well. We now have a more efficient air conditioning system. When Tristan came out to remove the portable he even vacuumed where the heavy chair had been for me. These folks are great! They were referred to us a while back when we owned our previous house. It had a funky dual system that other HVAC techs couldn't figure out. Brett took one look at it and figured it out. We subsequently hired them to add some registers and re-balance the airflow in our bedrooms. They were neat and tidy and made sure we were completely happy with the changes. Fast forward two years and we are in another house. My AC stopped working just when it was forecasted for a week of triple digit heat. I called Conditioned Aire and Tristan, one of their technicians came out and was able to diagnose the issue in less than 15 minutes. He said he had to check if he could get the part but after calling around said that he'd have to order it and it may take 1-2 weeks, which is not something you want to hear going into August. He said he'd call when the part came in and left. Fifteen minutes later he was knocking at my door and said he was a able to find the part and he'd go pick it up and be back at 4:30ish to do the repair, if that was ok with me. Uh, yes please! We had a problem with our air-conditioning not blowing cold air, which is why we called this company. They came with Jojo Salamanca. The couple of times I asked Jojo a simple question about the air conditioning and how to fix it, Jojo became verbally abusive and would hurl out verbal insults--clearly misogynistic. Afterwards, he had a smirk on his face over insulting me in front of multiple men, looking very pleased and proud of his ugly behaviors. My male landlord acted as if Jojo's behavior is ok and continued with their services. As a tenant renting a room I was not able to terminate the service call and send Jojo away. But like to share with other potential customers that he behaves in sexist misogynistic abusive manner towards middle aged woman so please do not hire him. Our air conditioning stopped working about 6 pm Fri. I left a message Friday night. They called back about 8:15 am the next day and said someone would be out between 9-11. Bryan came around 9:00 am. He diagnosed the problem as a short circuit. The furnace unit is very old. He tried to use the power cord as shortened but to no avail. He went back to the office and got a new power cord and fixed the problem. The A/C is running well. After receiving a $1,500+ estimate to repair my Lennox A/C unit (or $9,000 to replace the system) from my existing provider, I contacted Conditioned Aire to satisfy my due diligence with another another estimate. Vic, the technician, arrived as scheduled and quickly assessed the situation. Repair was the way to go, I was told, and the cost was to be $730 with a one year guarantee on parts and labor. Brett and team installed my air conditioner several years ago (2005/2006). They also have been servicing and maintaining said unit until recently. On 7/6/18 my air conditioner failed and temperatures inside the house rose to uncomfortable levels (95 degrees at 11pm). At 10:00pm on 7/6/18 I was able to schedule as service call for 7:00pm the following day. The service technician, Jan, arrived (on time) and inspected the air conditioning unit for about 20 minutes. I was informed by Jan that the compressor was bad and the air conditioning unit needed to be replaced. He was recommending the entire unit and not just the compressor because the unit was an older unit and it would not make sense to simply replace the compressor due to the fact that the system uses R22 refrigerant which is being phased out by 2020. Jan was going to have the office send me a quote on Monday, 7/9/18. I immediately ran out to purchase a couple window units ($538) to get my family and I through the weekend. After a couple reminder calls it took 3 days to get a bid. 3 extremely hot days of 95 plus degrees INSIDE the house. The people I trusted for so many years quoted me a price to replace my air conditioning unit and furnace. Total price $8,369.98. OPTION #1: LENNOX ML14XC1, ML180 & COIL TOTAL INSTALL COST: $8,369.98 Replace existing furnace with new Lennox furnace model #ML180UH090XE48B, with matching evaporator coil and Lennox condenser model #ML14XC1-048-230. Adapt to all existing refrigerant line, condensate drain line, gas piping, electrical and plenum. After the sticker shock for this second time investment wore off, I began asking questions. I got a second opinion which ended up saving me over $8,000. The unit did not need to be replaced. The compressor was fine. The start capacitor was bad and needed to be replaced. Total cost $220. On 7/13/18 I called my friend Brett to let him know how disappointed I was that his technician failed to check the capacitor and misdiagnosed the problem. Hi yelpers- for just a little background information I want to let you know that my family had used the same air conditioning company for 56 years for our HVAC needs. I live in my childhood home and growing up I knew our family never had to woirry about finding another HVAC company because the one we used could be trusted to take care of our system. Then out of nowhere the son who took over the business from the father who started it, closed up shop in the fall of 2016. He left their customers high and dry without so much as even a referral. For the last three summers I experienced problems with our air-conditioner as it was not operating as it had. It was a 24 year old Lennox system and it was always very reliable. Then this past April we had a bit of a hot weekend. Went to turn on my AC and it wasn't working properly. Come to find out after scrambling to find a reliable repair man that I had absolutely no Freon in the system. Had it recharged but was told it probably had a leak. Last year a friend recommended their repair man who added Freon to the system which took him three hours for some unforeseen reason. The old system was struggling for the first time ever to keep my home cool. The repair man that I used last summer insisted there was nothing wrong with my unit and that my home was unable to maintain the temperature set on the thermostat because I needed to put insulation behind the thermostat which is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard of and was completely untrue. So you may wonder what does this have to do with Conditioned Aire. I decided to give you a little background as to the struggle I've had the last two years to find a reliable HVAC repairman. In April 2018 my old unit had absolutely no Freon in so i figured it was time to replace my 24-year-old lennox system that had worked so reliably. I didn't want to be in the middle of the summer and have it go out completely. When the old unit was removed it was found to have a leak in the evaporator coil!! So my search began to find a new company for my HVAC needs who could both install and service a new system. I got bids from four different companies, two Lennox representative companies and two Carrier, as I decided those are the brands that I would look at. One of the Carrier companies was a referral from a neighbor and the other I found on yelp. Then i looked for two Lennox Dealers since I was partial to the brand because for 56 years we've only had two Lennox systems in our home and never had any issues with them at all until it was time to replace them. So I went to review various companies on yelp. I found Conditioned Aire from Lennox's premier dealer recommendation on their website. I made an appointment with all four companies and received bids. What I like about Conditioned Aire is that Brett the owner of the company is the one who came out to my home to give me the bid himself. He didn't send out some salesman. After I received the bid I did some research on his recommendations and I had quite a few questions which I emailed back-and-forth with him for awhile and then he said to me that he would like to come back out to my home and go over my questions with me. He satisfactorily answered all of my questions and concerns. He understood that I was a very loyal customer in that my family had used the same company for 56 years and we had a special relationship with the owner of the company and that I was looking for that same level of the service. Only Brett and one other company recommended that I change all my air registers in order to improve the flow in my home and his bid included that cost. The other company that recommended this too was going to charge me an extra $400 to do the same thing. Brett's bid also reflected the Lennox rebates that I was entitled to from the manufacturer and no other company did that. When I met Brett he did not try to hard sell me on any particular unit or recommend I upgrade beyond what the needs of my home are. He told me about his company and his 30 year background in the HVAC industry. His knowledge, professionalism, expertise, and kindness put me at ease so I knew if I selected his company, I was making the right choice. Mind you he had a very high bar to live up to because of the long standing relationship my family had with the other HVAC company we used for 56 years. I made the right choice in choosing Lennox and in choosing Conditioned Aire to install and maintain the new HVAC system in my house. The installation day was extremely organized and efficient. There was a crew of about eight guys headed up by Jojo the installation supervisor. The crew worked fantastically and efficiently to replace the heater, thermostat, compressor and all the registers in my home. They definitely are well trained and knowledgeable!! Beware! I've been a Conditioned Aire customer for years. Up until now their service and honesty has been great. But recently there has been a change in the company and in Bret, who used to be reliable and caring. That reliability and caring is 100% gone. Because of this I have fired them and removed the company from the community list of reliable service providers. Most of the time there is only an answering service, and they don't return phone calls left on that service. This becomes a crisis when the HVAC, which they originally installed, breaks down during a heat wave and the temp inside the house has risen to a life threatening 102 degrees. The desperation to save my family was very real and immediate. When I finally reach a live Conditioned Aire service rep, which took hours of calling and leaving messages, the rep said she would call back with a service date. If not immediately then the next business day. That person never followed through with the promised return call with a service date. I had to move the family to a hotel to save our lives. I continued to call Conditioned Aire, but could only leave messages because no person ever picked up the phone again. No person ever returned the original call to give me the day and time they would be out to fix the HVAC. It's one thing for Conditioned Aire not to be able to service a customer on the day an HVAC breaks. But to totally ignore a customer, and not even call back to set up a service date is not forgivable when lives are at stake. I'm a long time customer with a service contract and not a newbie caller. The situation wasn't just an inconvenience. It was a life threatening nightmare. All they had to do was call back with the service date, whenever that could be. They couldn't or wouldn't even do that. Their total disrespect, and uncaring if we lived or died, is the opposite of what they used to be. So I understand the previous good reviews I've read here on Yelp. Some people may still get good service from them. But if they can treat a long time customer this way I'm sure they're doing this to many other customers too. If you want to save yourself serious future problems, especially during a crisis, then don't do business with Conditioned Aire. They can't handle it. Excuses, should they ever come from them, are worthless. They are now a failed company as far as my family and I are concerned. It took a couple of days, as a new client during a heat wave, but I found another HVAC service company who was more than willing to answer the phone and repair the HVAC. On the day that the HVAC was repaired I was able to move my family back into our home. I'll miss the old Conditioned Aire. I wish they hadn't have done this to my family. But they did. For so many reasons, skip Conditioned Aire!! Get a second estimate and you will see that they tend to be more expensive than the average, and their service and customer service is VERY poor. There was a serious noise vibration issues on the walls (also bothering another adjacent neighbor) just after they installed a brand new AC. But their response was to say that I am a very "sensitive person" - very unprofessional - oh and they gave me an estimate of $900 to have some rubber pads under the AC unit replaced (it was not a repair estimate as they never came over to check what the problem was). read more

These guys are great! They just redid the HVAC system in my entire home from the ground up, including multiple furnaces, condensers, coils, a zone system, new ducts, thermostats, etc...and I can't say enough good things about the quality of workmanship and professional service I received. Brett is a stand-up and honest guy that will not BS you and oversell you or try to pile on useless marketing schemes and rebate offers. These people are wonderful, professional and honest! They put in my unit ten years ago and have maintained it ever since. When my air conditioning went on this past Sunday I called and left a message and they called me back 8AM Monday morning and had a guy here by 10AM. Sadly the motor needed to be replaced but they had it over nighted and he was back and ready to fix it on Tuesday...they bad news was I was past warranty and was going to be very expensive. The lady at Conditioned Aire said she would try again with the manufacturer to see if there was anything she could do. Imagine my surprise when I got the bill today and was only charged for labor! Went from $1600 to $230! I am a customer for life! read more
