Steve was available on site or via phone throughout the entirety of the project. His response time was amazing and I always felt as though he was easy to reach for any questions that came up. I knew I wanted 7 operatories but other then that I was open to design ideas. Steve worked closely with Patterson to get an ideal configuration to make the most our of our space. He has tips and tricks to make little areas open up and to keep a professional space with a comfortable atmosphere. Steve and Lisa worked diligently to 1. keep us on our timeline 2. keep all the paperwork and reports as needed for the city and 3. make sure all rules/regulations were followed to a T. Lisa met with me multiple times and at different locations to pick the perfect countertops, flooring/tile, pain, waiting room furniture etc. She was patient, helpful and a wealth of knowledge. She made me an awesome "Color Board" with each item as we picked it and brought the board to each meeting location. So I could visually see each part of the office come together on the board. I can not say enough about Steve and Lisa and what they did for me. The office I work in feels like home and I love going to work every day. Despite doing my due diligence and obtaining quotes from multiple companies, Nathan ultimately oversold and underdelivered. I want to be clear that my expectations were reasonable. I understand that construction timelines can shift and that costs sometimes change as a project progresses. The issue was not the delays themselves -- it was the lack of transparency about what was actually happening. Instead of straightforward communication, I often received vague or roundabout answers, and when problems arose there was little accountability or clear explanation. Looking back, an early red flag should have been the urgency and pressure he put on me to sign a contract within a short time frame in order to receive a "reduced" price. Once he secured my business, his involvement dropped off substantially. He appeared more focused on pursuing new customers, leaving my project poorly managed and completed with work that did not match what was agreed upon. When I asked for direct updates, the response felt defensive and conversations often came across as condescending rather than collaborative. Even while the project was delayed, he attempted to sell me additional services in a way that felt pushy and unprofessional. Overall, this was a very challenging and stressful experience, especially given the cost of the project. I would not recommend this company to others.

After going to Del Mar home show and interviewing 4 contractors, and then interviewing 5 at our south-west (Clairemont Village) home, we chose KCo-Construction. Yes... That's me. I need to talk with everyone, have my questions ready and am very choosy. And to make it more challenging, you hear so many bad contractor stories. Our neighbor hired a guy who left ¾ the way through. Can you imagine? The point is, I am very picky and even then... Ya just don't know.... We made the best decision choosing Chad Gardener and KCo. And like us, you are now looking. I could write a story as to how well this went but will try and keep it short. We have built a residential home and a commercial space and have a medium good idea as to what we need in a contractor. For me, communication, competency and integrity are very important. Through this whole project, KCo maintained the most professional, communication, work ethic, integrity, capability that I could ever imagine coming from a construction company. We did a complete remodel. We switched the kitchen to the back of the house, added a master bedroom wing with a master bathroom and master closet. We added a garage, made 2 beautiful bathrooms. We literally designed the house and KCo refined it, and built it to our specs. The relationship first starts with Chad, the owner of the company. Chad has been in construction most his life as KCo is a family business. One thing very cool about this and KCo, is that they are very community and family oriented, supporting many events in the Clairemont community (and that made a difference for us). They live here and support here. Which is another interesting thing about KCo, is they don't take projects to far from here. What this means is when something goes funky, (as will happen in construction), the project manager is very close to deal with it. This happened several times and BOOM, he was there to manage it. You don't have to wait. Chad knows construction. I appreciated the way he looked at our house and talked us through what needed to be done. He worked with us on our design and his guidance was invaluable. Once we had our drawings and we agreed on the price (which was fair and reasonable), we met our project manager Brian Beagle. I cannot say enough how great Brian has been. I think one of the most important things a PM needs to be able to do, is manage the client. We asked a lot of questions and were on site almost every single day. He managed us well. He managed his subs well. I am speechless to how well he understands construction, the process and the little details that I would have missed. One of the coolest things is we felt he always had our back and wanted us to have what we wanted. And when something was off, or the price not right, or we were going over budget, he was able to offer alternatives and catch us before we went off the track. Brian is amazing. He was also very fun to hang out with as the house was being built. Their internal team, David, Trevor and Nick are also great, ethical and professional. We have now been in our house over 2 months. We love our house. It came out GREAT. What I am most impressed by is the level of construction. As I said, we have had a couple builds and have some idea as to what we are looking for. This house is solid. As you look around town at the houses KCo is building, you will notice this. The design, construction and livability. And they have been building some very cool houses. They really are the best and our experience was awesome. My wife is happy and was comfortable working with them. We highly recommend them. PS.... One more thing... Our house was being completed during the time of CornaVirus. They were a month away from completion when the shut down orders started coming. We were living in an apartment and I am immune-compromised. I felt we needed to get home to feel safe. KCo busted their butts to get the house ready a month early so we could move in before we would not be able to. That is dedication to your client. I cannot say enough good about these guys.

During the pour John was focused and paid attention to every detail. Needless to say the stamped concrete came out amazing and other vendors working on our home were amazed by his work and have never seen stamped concreted look like wood plank . The Nordstrom of Asphalt…read more Two years ago, we got several quotes to re-asphalt our driveway, but took no action due to general dread. We weren't looking forward to spending the money or having heavy equipment on the driveway. A few weeks ago, Patrick Ferry of Aztec Paving called to say he'd driven by and noticed our driveway still needed repair. We marveled at this incredible feat of salesmanship - that this man would circle back on a bid from two years prior. We've had instances where we couldn't even get a company to respond to a request for a quote, so this level of follow-through blew our minds. This, plus the fact that Aztec's quote was the most reasonable, helped us decide to move forward. We love our glorious new driveway, which took a mere two days to complete. The Aztec crew was fast, efficient, respectful of our property, and were great communicators throughout the process. Even our neighbors commented on how courteous "the guys working on your driveway" were. Thank you, Patrick, and the whole crew at Aztec Paving. Your customer service is on par with Nordstrom.

Had a very bad experience with this company. Specifically the scheduling staff. This is the…read morecompany Lowe's uses for counter top installs. I was anxious to get my counter tops measured, and had not received a call, so I called them. The person that answered seemed irritated that I called. She said she had called me three times already and left messages, said she had 8 (she counted them off) people ahead of me, but since I was on the phone now, she would schedule me. I verified that she had correct contact information, as I had received no calls or messages. This seemed very strange, but I was happy to get going on this project. She told me I would get a call the day before to narrow the arrival window. Again, I had to call them, and I again verified they had correct contact info. The next day I'm waiting at the vacant house and waiting...waited several hours after my time window before I called, because I didn't want to seem inpatient. To my shock, the girl said that after she had given me the arrival window yesterday, I had immediately called her back saying that time no longer worked for me, and I had rescheduled for two weeks later. I said that did NOT happen, you must have me confused with someone else, as I am out of town for surgery on the day you claim I rescheduled for! She said it absolutely did happen, and that was their first available appointment. I told her I'm not available, I will be out of town for two weeks. She looked at her calendar again, and came up with and earlier date?! Not at all feeling confident that this new measuring date would happen, I asked to talk to her supervisor. The supervisor had just left, so I got her email. I immediately sent an email with the whole crazy story of the employees claims regarding phone calls that never happened. I attached screen shots of my phone's call log, from the start of this fiasco, proving that her employee had never initiated calls to me, and that I did NOT immediately call back and reschedule. Supervisor immediately emailed back, saying yes, I really was on the schedule, and she "would talk to the scheduling girls". I thought about it over the weekend and decided that the supervisors response was inadequate, and this was not a company that I wanted to do business with. I cancelled the appointment, and I went to a local company Granite Planet. They had a similar product and business cards for fabricators. My counters were measured that same day-Monday, and the install was finished mid day on Wednesday! And, it cost me 1/3 of the amount Lowe's had quoted (product and install!). That's why I gave them two stars. Thanks to this companies crazy behavior I ended up getting a much better deal elsewhere.
