My Condo, Daybreak in La Mesa, CA hired these guy so do some asphalt repairs, and they were to replace 2 speed bumps to the original specs as the original. THEY ENDED UP PUTTING IN A MONSTER HIGH BUMP THAT MAKES SUSPENSION BOTTOM OUT AT A VERY LOW SPEED. Several people complained about it and the sent the "project manager" out to investigate. I ran into him and he was literally arguing with me how they were exactly the same. He refused to listen to the people who know (the residents) and just pissed people off. The Nordstrom of Asphalt Two years ago, we got several quotes to re-asphalt our driveway, but took no action due to general dread. We weren't looking forward to spending the money or having heavy equipment on the driveway. A few weeks ago, Patrick Ferry of Aztec Paving called to say he'd driven by and noticed our driveway still needed repair. We marveled at this incredible feat of salesmanship - that this man would circle back on a bid from two years prior. We've had instances where we couldn't even get a company to respond to a request for a quote, so this level of follow-through blew our minds. This, plus the fact that Aztec's quote was the most reasonable, helped us decide to move forward. We love our glorious new driveway, which took a mere two days to complete. The Aztec crew was fast, efficient, respectful of our property, and were great communicators throughout the process. Aztec Paving-DO NOT HIRE. They completed paving work for our neighborhood, did not complete the sealing of the work that they did so we have ongoing issues, and the worst part is that their unsecured IT network was hacked and our HOA received wire instructions to make our payment once the job was supposedly complete and were scammed. Aztec does not carry insurance to cover cybersecurity issues or wire fraud so after the hacker went into their system and defrauded us, Aztec sued us for non-payment breach of contract and tried to add 10% interest to the unpaid amount, plus a 1.5% monthly interest expense for non-payment. They have a long history of suing customers for various reasons and trying to bully the customer into settling to avoid years long attorneys fees. The typical big bank take little bank mentality. Shameful business practices. They will never do business in this neighborhood again, and for anyone considering hiring them, you will be held liable for their lack of customer protection and their unique inability to ensure the proper security systems are in place to prevent cyber attacks. Unbelievable the measures they go through to be sub par in their work, frivolous with customer information, irrevocably damage long standing relationships, and simply move on to the next victim after suing their last victim. read more

Terrible customer service. My HOA hired this company to repave our driveways and parking spaces. I reported on Monday that I believed they had damaged my garage door and wall outside on Monday with black marks. They didn't reply until Friday and denied any responsibility. They didn't even have anyone come look at my house and the damage. Instead they just showed pictures I sent of the damage to their workers, and of course all the workers denied doing it and didn't remember my house. All the houses look the same, so why would they remember my house? Our HOA probably just went with this company because of the cost, but remember you get what you pay for. Hopefully they do not use this company again and choose quality over cost in the future. read more

I posted on here before about Aztec and I just wanted to post again about the amazing job they have done again for me and my street. We had our private street ripped out and replaced a few years back. We scheduled to have the street resealed to give it back the fresh black look we all like, just regular maintenance, for our street. The estimator that came out was a very professional young man with a large beard. He was there for us from start to finish. The week of our original scheduled maintenance it was raining, but they more than made up for it by being apologetic of things out of their control and scheduling us ASAP again. Again they placed notices everywhere you looked. They were on time and did everything they said they would per their contract. I highly recommend Aztec for any of your asphalt needs. read more

Its been over a month since they did a paving job at my condo. They leave a layer of Sand on the surface after the new ashphalt, I am aware this is necessary. I called the company and spoke to "Brian" to ask when it was going to be cleaned up since my wife slipped and almost fell due to the sand. He began to lecture me that is wasn't going to be cleaned, it would just wear away. I tried to tell him my association said they would clean it after 3weeks, it's been 4, when he yelled at me and hung up on me. I can't believe in this economy, companies would talk to customers like this. Our complex got bids on this job and I guess Aztec was the least since the hire rude, unprofessional, jerks. read more

The did a paving at our condos. Horrible! Can't do anything right. The manager (or perhaps he is a supervisor) is rude and obnoxious, doesn't want to talk, and demanding an additional payment for redoing their own (bad) job. Stay away from these guys, find a decent reputable contractor. read more

Aztec paving was awarded a contract to pave the asphalt streets on 5 streets in condo association where I live. I expected dust, dirt, and tremendous noise and smell. I heard little noise with my windows shut, no jack hammers, they have this quiet machine which grinds the old asphalt which is hauled away. vert little dust & dirt. they were on time every day and left when they said they would . They also left everything clean. It was very organized. Crew was polite and more than willing to answer questions. Signs are posted regarding no parking on which days, I dont understand the complaint of one reviewer (Bill.B) stating a contractor drove on freshly laid street because he was told he could drive in and out. I was also told I could drive in and out if out by 7AM in morning and back after 4:30PM. Paving was not done till last day and anyone with half a brain should be able to figure out that one should not drive on freshly laid paving especially a contractor. I am not a contractor and I can tell the difference between ground asphalt and fresh asphalt. I made the decision to park my car on street during this work. Because I am retired and have no intention of being out of the house by 7:00 AM. I found this entire matter far more pleasant than I expected because I was dreading it.I am president of my HOA and this has been a very positive experience read more
