Stayed here this week at the recommendation of a friend from France. It did not disappoint! 46 rooms they told me. Ours faced a quite courtyard.
Pros:
Very good location, not far from river and Galleries Lafayette and Opera, etc.
Room size: For Europe, our room was huge (it literally had a walk in closet). Bathroom was huge and well-appointed with tub AND separate shower stall which may have been one of the biggest/tallest/nicest ever (although no shelf for toiletries! had to put them on the floor).
Nicely decorated common area and mini-restaurant for breakfast which was excellent. Loved it every morning and the service was excellent and quick. Tea/coffee and eggs/omelets where excellent. Fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh baguette AND croissant, which were all excellent.
Staff: quite professional and polite/kind.
They have a French Bulldog! Huge points for that in my book.
Bed was very comfortable (pillows just ok)
AC worked well (important in Europe in summer or early September)
Reasonably quiet (except the one morning the folks above us were clearly scrambling to check out)
Price: I was satisfied with the price, especially for the size of the room
Cons:
Floors were SO creaky, but ok.
Towels were thin, no face cloths, but clean/fine and changed daily.
Elevator was tiny, could only fit one person and luggage or two people without. We took the stairs except with luggage.
Looks like they might slowly be updating the rooms (some had hardwood floors). All seemed large (for Paris/Europe). Another guest also commented on them. Seems to be a "business hotel" with a lot of business men/women (?) Not sure.
I would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend. So glad my friend recommended it. The friend I went with (who has been to Paris many times) was duly impressed with the place, as was I. read more
