I stayed here…read moreduring my trip to Paris and absolutely loved the welcoming, slightly eclectic vibe--it felt more like staying in a stylish friend's pied-à-terre than a typical hotel. The location couldn't be better: just a quick stroll to the Eiffel Tower and incredibly convenient to public transportation, which made getting around the city a breeze. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every single person I interacted with was over-the-top friendly and genuinely helpful, from check-in to recommendations for nearby cafés. It's the kind of hospitality that makes you feel instantly at ease, even in a city as grand and bustling as Paris. If you're looking for a place with personality, comfort, and a truly kind team behind it, this little gem is hard to beat.

Hôtel Waldorf Madeleine was a convenient hotel near L'église de la Madeleine and just a few blocks…read morefrom the Seine and Rue Saint-Honoré. We found it a perfect home base for seeing many Paris landmarks. You can easily walk (and we did) to the Opéra de Paris, Musée du Louvre, Jardins des Champs-Élysées, Musée d'Orsay, Musée de l'Orangerie, Jardin des Tuileries, Les Invalides, and just a little bit of a hike to Tour Eiffel, Champs-Élysées, or Arc de Triomphe. The hotel is also very close to the Madeleine Metro station if you're heading further like Montmartre or Château de Versailles. The best part of staying at Hôtel Waldorf Madeleine was the front-desk service. The multilingual team was helpful no matter who or when we stopped with a question or seeking a suggestion. We only enjoyed breakfast one day in the hotel during our week stay, but it was fine (about $22/person) with a small buffet of French, British, and American breakfast options. Like the hotel itself, the space is tight. Our room was small, but fine although the bathroom and shower were quite narrow. It's definitely one-person at a time in there. The only real complaint I had with Hôtel Waldorf Madeleine was the loud noise in the room (day or night) from the street. We stayed in a guestroom facing the street and the thin windows did little to keep out the construction or traffic noise. Luckily, I brought earplugs which made a huge difference. We enjoyed our stay at Hôtel Waldorf Madeleine. I recommend it to anyone seeking a small boutique hotel convenient to Paris landmarks and the metro.

Super cute boutique hotel located close to major areas of central Paris…read more Huge Positive: This hotel is near so many attractions. If you love shopping, it's within a mile walking distance from Avenue des Champs-Élysées. It's also walking distance to Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. There is always the option to get bus or subway from near by as well. Neutral to this: As far as the rooms go, they are decent sized. The bathroom is small, compared to other European countries I have been to. But, hey you are in the city of Paris. And like most hotels in this city, the room/bathroom sizes are small. Decent: The breakfast is simple but good. It was a good way to start the day with fresh juice, fruits, cheeses, eggs etc. Biggest Positive: I loved the employees in this hotel. They were so sweet and nice. They definitely make the guests feel welcome. A huge thank you to Mark, who got my postcards mailed/delivered for me. I would give this hotel based on rooms and breakfast a 4 star rating. But, since the employees are so great, this hotel is 5 star in my view. ~

After a lot of researching and back and forth I selected Hotel Diana for my 4 night stay in Paris…read more I booked directly through their website which was super easy. I selected the queen size bed room - my close friend selected the full size bed room. We arrived in the early evening and check in was quick. Fortunately the lift /elevator was working as we had a lot of luggage it all fit as well as myself . The room was small and basic, which I expected being in downtown Paris. The bathroom was simple with a bathtub shower combo. The bed was comfortable and there was a working a/c however it didn't really get the room super cold but kept it comfortable for summer. Fortunately the heat wave was over by the time we arrived. Tne bathroom did get very warm if you were styling your hair or doing your makeup. I would suggest bringing a small portable fan with you if coming in tne summer . The location is the selling point of this hotel. Walking distance to so many cute restaurants and cafes. 5 minute walk to Notre Dame and the Sienne River. Felt perfectly safe walking around day or night even solo. Usually there were young men working the front desk. They were always polite however I wish they were able to provide a little more suggestions where to go or how to get around for a first time visitor. Great budget hotel in the 5th.

When reading this review, you must consider the typical budget Parisian hotel: small, cramped…read morebathroom, lack of AC, etc. This hotel more than adequately addresses them all. The room that we had was relatively spacious, with a double bed and some room to move around. The mattress was very comfortable and linens were perfectly clean (no gross bed covering that you typically find in hotels). There was also a relatively spacious bathroom with a nice bath tub (a good find in Paris). The room had quiet, perfectly-working AC and the Wifi was free. There was also a safe in the room. We were basically on a roll. The room also had double windows, which eliminated the noise from the adjacent street (this was amazing). The location is also quite nice. It's in the Latin quarter, walking distance from Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, and the Sorbonne. Metro access is easy as well, in fact it is on a direct RER B line from CDG airport (station St.Michele) Plus, I haven't even gotten to the best part, which was the breakfast. It was 8 euros, and there was a plentiful selection of breads, jams, cheeses, yogurts, fruits, and cereals. All was super tasty. Plus the coffee and hot chocolate were delicious, brought out in small cute pitchers so you could have a nice servicing. We went all around France during our trip and I still remember the drinks there. Yummy. Overall, the price was right, the location was good, and the rooms were great. I would recommend it to anyone.

I never understood the concept of "tiny European hotel rooms" because we had such large and spacious hotel rooms in Italy, London and Amsterdam. Apparently square footage in Paris is very expensive, even if you are several miles outside of Paris. We decided that we just wanted a safe, clean room in the St. Germain area and took our chances and purchased a hotel room from Hotwire.com. The Holiday Inn would not have been my first choice in hotels, but the hotel was safe and clean and the location was absolutely fantastic! Another perk was the free wi-fi. I had no problem checking my email and facebook account. TIP: Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. The toiletries were horrible! LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! Our hotel was down the street from the St. Michel Metro stop, the Fontaine Saint-Michel, and a ten minute walk from the Sainte-Chapelle Church and the Notre Dame Cathedral. There were so many restaurants, bakeries and wine bars near our hotel. Skip the instant coffee in your room and the overpriced mediocre, breakfast buffet and check out the nearby bakeries. We had breakfast at three different bakeries nearby the hotel: Pâtisserie Viennoise, Eric Kayser, and PAUL. All three bakeries had wonderful pastries and coffee. In the evening we walked to nearby restaurants Au Père Louis and Fish la Boissonnerie (reservation recommended). The hotel staff was polite, but many of the front desk attendants were unfamiliar with the area. The first day we were given the wrong directions to a nearby restaurant. Later that afternoon another desk attendant told my husband that we should walk to the Arc de Triomphe because the walk is so pretty and the arc is only a mile from the hotel. Luckily, I had mapped out all of the attractions in Paris prior to our visit so I knew the arc was actually three miles from our hotel! The rooms are very tiny, but if you are here to see the sights of Paris then the Holiday Inn Notre Dame offers a great, convenient location.
