I came to meet up with an old friend, only to realize I was a week early! ‍ I opted to have breakfast alone. It was relatively quiet, probably because it was a Wednesday morning. Anyhow, I decided to try an Americano and their Breakfast Croissant with roasted potatoes. As a lover of sharp cheddar, it was fantastic. The Americano was good too. Since I was heading to my mom's house after I asked if she wanted anything. She and my sister wanted the same thing I had. I went to order and they were out of croissants 45 minutes into opening. When I come next week I want to try the chilaquiles. read more

Starting off with the parking lot. There were 2 other couples here and the parking lot was almost full so good luck trying to park inside. 2nd and the reason I will not be back is, you are forced to order and pay while standing at the counter quickly or you will hold up the line. They do this so they don't have to pay waitresses and waiters and if you don't like the food you're SOL. You never see the person that brought your food again, you're on your own. I ordered the chicken and waffles and got 3 microwaved frozen chick fingers with one waffle cut in to 4 pieces, which which was cold even though it was pretty much empty. The food tastes horrible, 2 hot pockets would have been a better breakfast.... Shame on this place and I urge you not to spend your hard earned money here! I hope the owner reads this! DO BETTER! read more

Concha's Cafe - Terrible chicken and waffles - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Montebello, California

Well to start off we went to have some conchas and to our surprise they don't have any and the only sold or gave Concha's when they first open so false Advertising because all they video and there advertising states they have them , then they didn't have pancakes for children and the pancakes we ordered were soggy and even the French Toast were all wet from Orange slice the added well over I would never go back at all it was not a good experience and if you have small children nit recommended at all. read more

They closed 4 hours early we came at 2pm and closing time is posted as 6pm. They said the ran out of food

Today I visited My Concha Café, formerly known as Mr. Temple Cantina. It looks like they've transitioned from a cantina to a breakfast focused spot. I have mixed feelings about my visit. First, the customer service was excellent. The staff greeted me with a smile and were very attentive throughout my visit. That alone makes a big difference. I ordered a cafe Americano, and it was just right, great flavor, perfect temperature. A small but nice touch: they offer you a free concha when you arrive, which I really appreciated. For food, I ordered the chilaquiles with steak. Presentation was great, I really liked the way the dish looked. Unfortunately, the chilaquiles didn't quite hit the mark for me. Being Mr Tempo's chain of restaurants, I had high hopes for this dish, I try chilaquiles everywhere I go, and these were about a 7 out of 10. The tortillas used didn't have the right consistency (kind of dry) , and they appear to be bought packaged chips., and the salsa lacked any real kick. On the bright side, the side of beans was excellent, super flavorful and something I'd definitely eat again. The steak was also really perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The remodel looks great too. They've done a good job transforming the space, and it has a fresh, inviting feel. Final thoughts: while I probably won't come back when I'm craving chilaquiles, I haven't tried the rest of the menu yet, so I'm open to updating this review in the future. Today you get 4 stars because the chilaquiles fell short of my expectations, but everything else was great! I'm also happy to see the support from the community, restaurant is almost full on a Friday morning. read more

The service was slow like really slow but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited for the food and the food was like a middle school cafeteria food and after all of that they made it a headache to pay they don't let you split checks or any thing like that DONT COME HERE read more

First time here! I saw tons of videos on social media so my sister and I decided to try it. Overall food was great! I loved my chilaquiles. Spicy! But delicious! My sister enjoyed her eggs Benedict. Def recommend the food. The concha situation; they did offer my sister Conchas after she ordered. They did not tell me anything, could have been because we came in together. Conchas were 10/10. Coffee was good. Honey Vanilla Latte was sweet but we both liked it. Vanilla latte is a bit stronger so if that's your preference then go with that. Parking was full but we were still able to find parking in the parking lot. There was no Valet. Service is good at the beginning. They are super friendly and very nice. I read reviews before going, and I did see a lot of yelper's mention that no one is checking on you after you sit down. This is true. There aren't any waiters, therefore after they brought out our food no one came back. Water is always a necessity at the table, I wish they had some kind of self-serve water station. If this is the service they're going to be continuing with. It is self seating. You order when you walk in and then find a table. The food was the best part! read more

I have visited this restaurant multiple times and, unfortunately, they often do not have conchas available despite advertising them. I would encourage management to maintain more consistent availability to meet customer expectations. That said, the food overall is good and enjoyable. read more

Did early breakfast at 9:30 on a Sunday and we were not given the complimentary conchitas. It does not owned up to the restaurant name.

We need more honest reviews on this place. So here's mine. The environment of the whole restaurant is disorganized. Here is why I'm giving this restaurant one Star. I wish I can give zero. 1) the valet parking person was unapproachable. When we came back to our car we notice the valet left it unlocked. 2) to wait in line and order, the waitress just gives you a number then you have to look for your own table. 3) we order a banana smoothie, it tasted like water down baby food and the latte looked weird. Overpriced 4) IT took AN HOUR to get our food. AN HOUR. 5) No napkins and the tables are super close together you can barely walk between tables to get to your seat. 6) In the video inside the restaurant they promoted free conchas. There was none of that. 7) You have to ask for condiments, napkins, utensils not only that, it took serval times to get attention of MULTIPLE servers to ask for it.. which none provided. I had to go up and ask for these things at the bar. It took almost 10 mins to receive a fork and a butter knife. 8) The food was cold and the scrambled eggs were under cooked, I can see the goo of the eggs. Small portions and to pay so much. Absolutely not! 9) The atmosphere of the restaurant is confusing i don't know what kind of theme they were trying to go for. 10) There's no ac in the building, the whole restaurant felt musky. The only air that was coming in from the restaurant was from the back doors. So imagine on a hot day. 11) The service: no service at all. The just bring the food and drinks. Once you pay for your food they're all done with you. They do not ask if you need anything else. The hype of this restaurant was no where to be found. The food and service were terrible. The people who promote this get paid to get you to come and waste your time and money. Overall: SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!! Go to your local mom and pop restaurants where you know the food will come in at a proper timely manner and hot. Such a disappointment. Never coming here again. read more

Went on Sunday brunch, didn't get the concha's . The food & lattes were delicious . Got the steak/egg/chilaquiles the sauce was good , the croissant breakfast was also tasty: potatoes well seasoned, the pancakes were surprisingly good as well not too sweet. The prices were up there as expected, the only CON is the flies everywhere ! They disgust us and won't eat my food once I know a fly landed on it. I took half of my food to go for lunch and discovered a fly in there. Had to throw it out, so I hope they can somehow manage that since we want to come back bc it was delicious. Service was great as well, got seated pretty quickly . read more

The food was great! But the service lacked. The waiters were not attentive to our needs throughout our meal. Including when we did ask for somethings, the staff took long to bring those items to us. Nonetheless, we saw that other customers were treated with more attention than our table. What made this even more disappointing was that I chose this restaurant to celebrate my mom's birthday, and we expected a much better experience. That is why I rate it two stars because a restaurant should prioritize and focus on their customers needs equally. read more

We went a Sunday around 10am, it wasn't too packed and we were able to find seating for 6 right away. You do have to order at the register and pay first, then choose the seating. But the food came out quick and I thought the portions were decent, at least for me. I really enjoyed the cafe de olla latte, it was delicious. They do cute little designs on some drinks too. They don't give out conchas as you wait as I had heard but nonetheless, it wasn't a bad experience. I'd give it a 7/10. read more

Soooo good! Just come here! Our first visit and we were not disappointed. Greeted with soft, well covered conchas. Vanilla latte-half sweet, was perfectly strong and flavorful. Chilaquiles rojos plate with those yummy beans and pancakes with eggs and bacon plate so delicious. The service was attentive and friendly. Note, we came on a Monday. Ambience was perfect with beautiful music playing and decoration that made you feel as though you're on a vacation. Great place to come with family, on a date, with girlfriends. I've been to Concha's Café in Montebello twice now, and both times I really enjoyed my food! The croissant sandwich is so delicious--definitely a must-try. I also had one of their fruit smoothies, and it was super refreshing and flavorful. The service has been good, and parking was easy enough. I also love the cute little complimentary conchitas--they're such a nice touch! My only small complaint is having to order before sitting down. For the prices you pay, I expected more of a dine-in experience with table service. Still, the food is great, and I'll definitely be back! read more

We were iffy about coming in because of the reviews, but the reviews seriously don't reflect the amazing experience we got today at all! They were pretty busy and seemed to not have as many staff and they probably should, but everyone was working hard with smiles on their faces, which I know could be hard to do in the service industry. All our food was amazing, my eggs Benedict in specific was soooo good and my coffee was just WOW. Our server Iveete was super sweet and had great service as well. I wish we lived closer so we can come all the time ! read more

Concha's Cafe - Matcha pancakes, eggs Benedict, pancake deal - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Montebello, California

Came here 3 days ago for breakfast and to be honest the service is disappointing and I was watching the staff and they just stand around and walk past you while you wait for a long time either for a check or a refill on something, I had to get up and walk to the front desk to ask for a check after waiting more than 30min..the steak i got tasted as if it had no seasoning to it not even salt and pepper only thing I enjoyed was my hot chocolate with whip cream after all that I still tipped them $40 because I understand the work that goes into making these meals..ill give this place another try soon maybe I just went on an off day read more

Good food, great mimosas and the servers are very friendly. I recommend there coffees

First time here, this place kept popping up on my feed. The food was ok. You order upfront before sitting. The restaurant is spacious and clean. They play music and sports on the TVs My fave was the matcha pancakes and the dulce de leche latte. We had the steaks and eggs, salmon avocado toast and red chilaquiles. I wish the salmon cut was a bit thinner and fresh, it was slimy. The red chilaquiles were not spicy it was more like a pasta-tomato flavored. I previously asked the cashier which were spicy the red or green sauce, she recommended the red. Not my fave. But the roasted potatoes were good. It is a bit pricey for the type of food you're getting i paid $158 for 4 meals/ drinks and pancakes with the 18% gratuity. Tbh it's more like picture food, the savory foods need more sazón. read more

Writing this review during our third visit here in the last two months. The first two times here, the food was hot & delicious and we all got our different dishes out at the same time. This third time around we sat as we watched bigger tables who came after us get served - their complete dishes, while our plates came to our party of 4 individually like we were some kind of after thought. The food was also tepid. My cousin's salmon benedict's had fishy slimy salmon, we asked to get the plate exchanged - which they did free of charge. But while we were waiting for her new dish to arrive, I took a bite out of my eggs only to chew on egg shells. To make matters even worse, it was like someone cued the flies. There were flies everywhere. Needless to say, we won't be returning for a fourth time. read more

Wanted to try this new local breakfast spot. Inside what used to be Mr. Tempo. Arrived on a Friday morning and there was a line of about 6 people. You have to order first and then sit down. Nobody gave us a menu so I grabbed one from the front to see their options as we waited. Felt rushed to order since there was a bigger line behind us. The services was not good- we had to wait over five minutes to find an employee for napkins. Food came out within 15 minutes. It was not good. Unfortunately the matcha waffle did not taste like matcha at all and it was very dry. The dulce de leche iced coffee was watery and not sweet at all. The French toast was so thick that the inside was mushy. They do give you mini conchas while you wait. The waffle combo, waffle and two coffees was about $45, not worth it. I would not recommend or return. read more

Coffee was good, food was good. The service was slow, though friendly. Main issue was the noise level in there. Crazy loud and over-stimulating, with multiple TVs on at once, music and acoustics that make all the conversations bounce off every wall. Not relaxing. If it were calmer in there, I'd go back. read more

Still hungry after $60 Breakfast. The potatoes were over saturated with Garlic tasted nothing like a potato. Ate 30% of the pancake was not cooked. The eggs were thin and not worth my bite. Went in and got a great greeting and seated fasted then we waited....and waited, people got seated next to us and IMMEDIATELY got their order taken when we haven't even been seen by a server yet and then another group got sat and was helped again. Visited for the first time on Mother's Day towards closing. We went not having much expectations due to the holiday. Just was looking for a quick spot to eat. On Sundays this place has a valet service. Parking is a small lot but if they park your car that's a thing you don't have to worry about. I appreciated that service. We waited in line about 20-25 minutes before we sat down. Before you sit, they will take your order. They have some Mexican staples, cafe de olla, huevos rancheros and chilaquiles. They also have some waffle, pancake, and French toast dishes. I was surprised by their cafe de olla martini. Wow!!! It's delicious and kicks the traditional espresso martini out of the way. The ambience inside is very cute, it reminds me of cafes in Mexico City. They have a gorgeous bar in the middle and love their coffee set up. They have high and low tables, and it's definitely ADA accessible. My family ordered a few dishes to try: mascarpone French toast, and huevos rancheros. The presentation is beautiful and you get a nice portion of food. I didn't think I would finish my place but it's soooooo delicious. The mascarpone was yummy! Due to the holiday we didn't get to try Conchas. The waitress said they give some free when they open but they do sell them. Next time I visit, I plan to try one of lattes and a concha. The vibes are relaxing and it's a good place to be with friends and family for conversation and it's not too loud. read more

I came across this place on my Instagram feed and it definitely looked delicious. Despite some hiccups, I had a good time. First thing I'll mention is there was a bit of a line to get in but it didn't take too long. You wait in line to order your food. They give you menus to look over while you wait and once you place your order, it's self seating. They give you a number to place at your table so they know where to take your food. Every person gets a free concha and I should hope so since the prices were a bit steep for being its self seating and you don't have a waiter. My sister ordered a veggie omelet. And when she got to the table she noticed on her receipt that they added a side of bacon (no idea why). I went to tell the girl at the register but she kept insisting that my sister wasn't charged for bacon even though it said plainly on the receipt, side of bacon: $4. But a lady I assumed was the manager came over and assisted me and provided a refund. Then we got our coffee first which was so delicious and definitely my favorite part. The concha's were delicious as well. The perfect pair if you ask me. After that came our food which was amazing as well! I love when you take a chance on a new place and everything is good. But another hiccup was that even though we had our conchas, coffee and food- My husband hadn't received his mimosa. I asked a girl working there if we could expect it soon and she said she would check on it. A few minutes later I saw her assisting other tables but giving to go boxes. When she passed by some time later I asked her again and she said are you sure you ordered a mimosa? I said yes and then she went again to check. After a few more minutes, the bartender came and brought it but by that time we were already done eating. The food and drinks were great. I think their service just needs a bit more work. Maybe since it is a new restaurant they are still working out kinks. My order was eggs Benedict, honey vanilla latte, one mimosa and chilaquiles with steak and the total was $56 plus the tip. read more

I have no complaints with the food! The breakfast burrito was great and the chilaquiles were superb as well. Where I'm most frustrated is the service... I was here early so I ordered and was seated quickly but the line as out the door and it took forever for people to even order food. Once inside, the service was fine. Nobody ever checked on us, but we didn't really need anything. We did have to ask for utensils and napkins which I found strange. What's most frustrating was the marketing that everyone gets a concha, and we most certainly did not get a concha. We ordered coffee as well, but maybe we missed the secret password for the free concha or something. Overall, the price was slightly high for value of food, but not enough to turn us away. It's a place we may return to in the future, but it's not a priority return. read more
