PROS Excellent location…read more $200 night/4th floor room was not bad for Aspen (between seasons). A/C, gas fireplace(we did not use). Sliding window for cool night air. Front staff was friendly (Karen & Matt). Room was a good size + balcony. Even though we were on the street side and a block from bus terminal, you could barely hear outside noises. Free breakfast. Decent choices. One different hot entree daily. Clean room, but very outdated. I was told that the property was sold and eventually will be renovated. Cleaning lady said they thoroughly clean the window screens on a regularly basis - impressive. CONS Small bathroom, tight door access was hard to get around. Mis-matched room furniture (a few pieces could have been removed). It would have been nice if the hotel gave us an information sheet about the hotel (garage, street parking, pool, bar, etc.) when we arrived. Tight garage, only one entrance for in/out. Make sure you use the keycode at the top street entrance of the garage. Door opens automatically when exiting. Bar was closed. The whole place is in need of paint job, carpets changed, etc. Does not look like it has been cared for in a long time. Carpet and furniture stains found. Limited street parking. Parking sux in Aspen - everywhere. Public parking garage is several blocks away. One elevator for guests and house cleaning.

It's old but well maintained. There's underground parking for guests. Location was exceptional. Walking distance to everything. Saturday we walked to their farmers market The guest services were all fantastic and attentive. You definitely feel like your at home and on vacation at the same time. They let us check in a lil early. Had some complimentary coffee/tea/hot cocoa. The room was spacious with a kitchenette. There's so many amenities in this hotel like a heated pool, sauna, jacuzzi tub, library, etc. and don't forget their complimentary breakfast which changes menu daily. For Sunday they offered Eggs Benedict. They also had side dishes like a variety of fruits, yogurt, oats, muesli etc. such a treat! I see why so many people here stay for a long time. Highly recommend if you're in Aspen

A bit rustic but nice and have everything I needed. What is truly fantastic is the Staff. Tracy and David are simply top notch. As someone who has traveled extensively over the years, I must say that this was one of the nicest and most pleasant experiences I have every had with Staff. Truly, left feeling like I had new family. I will always stay at the Annabelle.

My experience at Jay's Cabin was in the winter. I was part of a group that snowshoed in from Vail…read morePass, about 4 miles. The trail is well marked and we had a great walk in. There are two other cabins at Shrine Mountain Inn. Jay's was the first cabin built of the three, which sleeps a total of 12 people. The cabin is fire wood heated, has hot and cold running water year round, as well as two indoor bathrooms with flush toilets, one with a bathtub and the other with a shower. This was almost too nice of a cabin for what I expected when I arrived. There is a shared kitchen on the main level with all the amenities (pots, plates, silverware & glasses) including a propane cook oven and stove top. Very very nice. The upstairs of Jay's Cabin has 1 bedroom with a double bed, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, and a single bed at the top of the stairs. The main floor of the cabin has 1 bedroom with a queen and two day beds in the common area. Downstairs has 5 single beds in a communal sleeping area. Our group of 7 arrived to an empty cabin, later a group of 4 showed up. As the cabin is so large, we did chat a bit, but they ended up moving to the basement. The only thing you need is your sleeping bag, really. Well, food, spices and drinks. But, this cabin is completely ready to go. Our group brought a little too much, but it was better to be prepared. The cabin comes stocked with plenty of firewood. I myself am a bit of a pyro, an Eagle Scout pyro that knows what I'm doing. I right away carried in plenty of wood and split a few logs into fire starter pieces and started the main fireplace to warm up the cabin. I then went back to the wood burning sauna and got that going as well. I knew the sauna needed plenty of time to heat up, so I did that for the group. I also, made a fire outside of the main cabin in the fire pit to hang out next to, roast some marshmallows and be outside after the sauna. Our group rented the cabin for $43 a person per night. We signed up online and booked individually through 10th Mountain Trail Association. This cabin is quite popular, so make sure you sign up almost a year ahead of time to guarantee the dates you want. I hope to do a similar trip in the summer at a different 10th Mountain Division cabin. Such a great experience.

AWFUL RESERVATION EXPERIENCE…read more It is a nice property, walking distance to all shops, restaurants in Aspen. I was in Aspen over July 4 week. We made reservations for this property to return over Labor Day weekend for the JAS Music Festival. I physically went to this property looked at it, and reserved three nights. They took 50% deposit. Later that evening, I got a voicemail that they had to cancel my reservation because they oversold their property over Labor Day weekend. I called Scott, the property GM. He confirmed that they did oversell and his employee should have never made reservations for Labor Day Weekend. He offered no apologies, no discount for future stays. It was very unprofessional. They have yet to refund my 50% deposit (about $1600).

All employees were very friendly and accommodating. Property is pretty. Apparently a student of…read moreFrank Loyd Wrights designed this building. It has the look of a FLW building. The lounge is really nice. Breakfast was great! Unfortunately the rooms are dated and need a facelift. They do there best to keep them clean. It looks like the last facelift was at least 25 years ago. The walls are paper thin so don't plan on sleeping in past 6:30 AM. Everything in Aspen is way way over priced. We knew that coming in, but we didn't expect the upkeep and maintenance to be so deferred. Aspen is the typical destination resort. Getting you once is the goal. Hoping you will come back is not. So for the reasons above I cannot recommend this property.
