I've had my car to Conant a handful of times now. They are honest, to the point, and don't charge an arm and a leg. Unlike other places, they don't try to push every service under the sun on you. They tell you what's wrong, how to fix it, and what it's going to cost. There is no run around with them. I've been so happy with their work and completely trust them with my vehicle. Additionally, they are amazing members of the community. As someone who lives in Stoughton, I can appreciate the investment they put back into their city. They are sponsors of so many amazing organizations, charities, and events. Highly recommend! read more

After 27-years of going to Conant, they are no longer reliable. They don't do the work I ask because they never have time to finish or can't get a part or some odd excuse. They are now employee oriented at the expense of the customer. They fixed a flat tire for me, it leaked so I had to go back. I don't have a spare tire so they had to give me a loaner car. Three days to fix a tire. Couldn't fix my gas cap, couldn't align my front end, I asked to have tires rotated, they didn't but charged me. All they did was check my brakes, change my oil and didn't have time to do the other things I asked them to do. THATS WHY WE MAKE APPOINTMENTS. I end up going to Stoughton Tire to get the other things done. Long gone are the days of Joe. So we are taking our three cars somewhere else. Service just sucks now. read more

Robbery I Do Not Recommend! I made an appointment for an oil change and I was told the oil change would be $50 because of the make of my car. The oil change took more than 45 minutes and cost $80. The fellow at the desk told me that the quote on the phone hadn't included oil disposal! Then they estimated (and strong armed) a gigantic list of repairs that are not needed for 800 dollars! I will not be back. read more

Trust is a scarce commodity in the car business. I'm lucky that I found mechanics I trust at Conant. Combine their integrity with the fact that they really know what they're doing and you get consistently good results. And even when things don't go perfectly, they do their best to make it right. I recently bought a new car and asked them to look it over. They did a thorough inspection and wouldn't accept any money for the service. In the past, they have charged fair prices for parts and labor. I'm convinced they're not in business for a fast buck. Instead, they want to create relationships that result in the kind of loyalty that sustains (and profits) a business for years. read more

Took my vehicle their to get diagnosed told me it was my fuel pump and they said it would cost me $2800 to fix I declined them to fix fixed it myself and my vehicle is still running the same I called and talked to Joe which is the owner of the place and I told him I wasnt happy with the diagnosis and Joe proceeded on inviting me to a fist fight when I was talking to him like a human being and wanted to resolve the issue needless to say I will not take anything to him again and will highly not recommend anybody to go there read more

Reliable work. Great about prioritizing what needs to be done so I can decide when to have maintenance or repairs completed. Reasonably priced. Have taken my vehicles there since they opened & have always been happy with their work. read more

This is by far the most honest mechanic I have ever dealt with. I had been having issues with the brakes on my car. Randomly, the ABS light would come on, followed by my brake light, thus killing my ETS and cruise control. This would happen with no rhyme or reason, disappear randomly (when turning the car off or sometimes while driving) and I was having some noise with the brakes. After giving this to Conant, they took a day to drive it around, had the problem recreate itself, and then hooked it up to the magic machine and reset the sensors which were all (seven of them) reading fail. The diagnostic showed no actual issues, and they drove it more, trying to figure out where the glitch was. They kept it another day because they couldn't get it to happen, and still had no luck. When I came to pick up the car, they refused to bill me because they felt that they didn't actually fix anything other than resetting the computer and that the noise with the brakes was just noise and they weren't grinding or needing work. Please, someone find me a mechanic that spends time over two days tinkering with a car, fixing the issue (because the errors haven't happened once in the two weeks since) and then says they won't charge you because they don't think they really did anything worth charging for. I'm still shaking my head over this, and will absolutely bring back all future work to these guys. read more

I have been nothing but impressed with Conant from the get go. They are honest and upfront about the problems with your car, what it will cost to fix it, and whether or not you should fix it. Pricing is very reasonable. For example, we had a Chevy cavalier that had a cracked head. He told me it would cost $1200 to fix it and that it probably wasn't worth it based on the mileage/year of the car, but they would fix it if we wanted. We decided not to fix it. You could tell he felt kind of bad for us, and said maybe for $700-$800 he could get it running for another year or so.....which we did decline. He has also done some work on our Lincoln, thoroughly investigated the problem, and replaced the rear axle for us, but raised the spector that we should be careful as it was unusal for the axle to rust and he was concerned the car had been flood damaged. This car also needed a few new cylinders, and again he advised us they could repair it, but it might not be worth it cost-wise for us. So my point is: a) they do good work; b) they give good advice; and c) they won't fix your car just to make a buck off of you, when the car might not be worth it in the long run. read more

They have always been honest with me. Multiple times have given advice that had helped. Priced well, and again honest

Very happy with Conant. We live just down the street so we thought we'd give them a try. Requests were to check the brakes, the electrical system and the suspension. Needless to say, we were expecting a pretty expensive visit! They checked everything over and said only the brakes needed work. I always think that's the sign of a good mechanic - they don't fix it if it's not broken! They also gave us a loaner car for the two days ours was in the shop. This was a big benefit since we're a one car family and would have had to get a rental. Granted, the loaner car left a lot to be desired (very old, VERY dirty, no A/C), but never the less...it got us from A to B! We'd use them again, no hesitation. read more

Very happy with their service. Repairs always based on what we need, not for their profit! Would not go anyplace else! Karen Seaton and Dennis read more

When I can't fix our cars myself I only bring them to Conant Automotive. On two occasions I expected to pay more than I did because I expected the job to take longer than they completed it in. Conant Automotive is a good, honest, locally owned and operated service center that has won my loyalty. read more

I brought cars there several times and also had my daughter work with them on her Jeep Grand Cherokee. Great attitude, very helpful, great feedback and on -2- occasions wasn't even charged. First, let me say from my recent experience and the many conversations I have had with people throughout Stoughton, Joe Conant is a very honest, upfront, friendly and professional business owner. The success his business enjoys, in my opinion, is a direct result of how knowledgeable he is and the way he respectfully treats and communicates with his employees, customers and non-customers. I am one of those non-customers (until the time comes when I need work/service done on my car). More specifically, I am a sales representative who walked into his business to propose a marketing opportunity I thought would greatly enhance his already very positive image in the Stoughton market and surrounding areas. My timing was unfortunate as Joe had already committed himself to several partnerships throughout Stoughton. It was clear he supports this community in very meaningful ways. You may ask yourself, "Why would someone take time to write a review when no partnership was ever formed or work had yet to been done on his car?" It's simple: Joe treated me with incredible respect. We had a very honest and upfront exchange. I came away knowing that if he treats a sales representative who just walked into his establishment (without an appointment), how terrific he must be with ALL of his customers. I have recommended Joe and Conant Automotive to all of my family members and will do so with everyone else when an opportunity presents itself. Thanks Joe. I'll call on you in six months and see if we can be marketing partners then :-) -Mitchell read more

Since a change in personnel , I have myself experienced a incorrect diagnosis, and know of 2 other people who were told they needed new parts that had already been replaced and were working fine. I would not trust their work at all. read more

My truck was shaking a bit and I knew I needed to have suspension work done. I went to Conant partially because of the positive Yelp reviews. I should have gone somewhere else! I had the work done on New Year's Eve day with plans to drive across the state to celebrate New Years with my family. Imagine my surprise New Year's Day when one of the new tires was totally flat. Yup, they hadn't checked it to see if it held air. After dinking around with my spare tire and discovering it was frozen in place, I pumped up the flat with a bike pump and drove it back to Conant for fixing the day after New Years. I put the truck key into their door slot. Guess what? They decided to be closed that day, which was a Friday, and they were closed on Saturday and Sunday too. I went four days without my truck because of their mistake. When I finally got my truck back, five days later, they blamed the tire distributor and didn't offer me any credit for four days of inconvenience caused by their LACK OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL. If you put on a tire, make sure it actually holds air. read more
