They were not shy with the turkey (which I love), and the Italian dressing took it to a whole new level! So flavorful and perfectly balanced. I didn't even get a chance to take a picture because it was devoured within minutes! I ended up sharing with my mom and she was wowed as well! Our waitress recommended the chicken fried steak, and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. I even downsized the portion, and it was still huge! The cashier helped me choose a sandwich and I picked out these cookies to try as well. I ended up going with the Dr. Laura Sandwich and the raspberry filled cookies, the sandwich was good only I wish there was more meat for the price honestly. It was a pastrami sandwich but I mostly tasted salami. On the other hand do your self a favor and get these cookies they're so soft and fresh, the filling is so good. Big plus that the avocado was fresh! and they didn't skimp on it (thank you ), and I really liked the shredded lettuce instead of the usual sad leaf situation. Now for the honest part: the patty itself was a bit dry, which is kind of a big deal when it's the main event. That said, the generous amount of sauce definitely helped counteract the dryness. And honestly, when you're starving, there's a moment where you just say "whatever" and keep eating--and I did . It wasn't horrible by any means, just not quite on the level of a couple other burger spots I usually go to. The patties are on the thinner side, but that seems to be the norm at most casual burger joints these days. I guess because it's a sports bar restaurant, and it's in Bakersfield. I got the shock of my life. It turned out, this was the best barbecue food I ever had. Not only that, but it's very affordable. I would say a bargain. I didn't have to spend 100+ dollars for 2 persons, like a lot of so called high quality barbecue restaurants. The briskets and ribs were amazing. Delicious, flavorful, and melts in your mouth. Sides were also delicious. The service was good too. You just go up and get your order. It took a little time, but the staff is helpful and friendly. I'll be back here again, the next time I'm in Bakersfield. Maybe I'll visit the Buck Owen's museum. Bakersfield is truly the Texas of California, although I've only been to El Paso, Texas.
