I came in with a laptop to get a cracked screen and broken hinge repaired. I was given a quote which I accepted. When I picked it up he had replaced the screen but not the hinge. When I asked why he hadn't repaired the hinge he said he didn't remember me asking to have it repaired even through it was very obvious it wouldn't close properly. I was told it would cost me more to get the hinge replaced and that it was usable the way it was. After 2 weeks the screen cracked again because of the broken hinge. I went in to see what he could do for me. I was willing to pay for parts if he would do the repair. He went thru the motions of looking for the hinge only then to let me know he couldn't find the hinges. read more

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience at Computers Corner. Bassem is a highly professional, efficient, friendly, and honest business owner. I was looking for a place to get my cracked iPhone screen fixed, and I am SO happy that I ended up coming here. Bassem quoted me a reasonable price, replaced the screen before my eyes, and even gave me a screen protector to keep it safe from future tumbles. When I left, just 15 minutes later, my phone looked good as new. As I was there, someone came in and asked about getting his laptop fixed. The screen was barely held to the keyboard by duct tape. Bassem took time to carefully look over the laptop and speak with the customer. He ultimately explained that he was not comfortable repairing the computer, as he feared that even the slightest movement could cause more damage than good. The customer was sent away following this careful assessment, and I admired the time that the owner had taken to offer this honest evaluation without charge to the patron. The next day, I noticed a tiny gap between the phone frame and screen and returned to inquire about it. Bassem promptly took a look and explained that this was due to my phone's bent frame (yes... I am guilty of sitting with it in my back pocket). Nevertheless, he still proceeded to unscrew the screen, try to bend my frame into shape, and put the screen back on. I was referred here by Best Buy when they could not fix my laptop. My niece accidentally pulled the charging cord out of the port and it broke pieces inside. So one night my laptop decided it would be a great idea to drink a cup of water...well, it wasn't, and it shorted out and wouldn't turn back on. I went out and bought a new MacBook Pro so we could use the old laptop as a nice paper weight. We wanted to at least get all the data off the laptop so I called three places that were Mac certified: Computer Corner in Vallejo, a place in SF, and a place in Concord. Computer Corner: Said they would take a look for free to see if all the data was salvageable. The other places were going to charge some initial fee for looking at the laptop so right off the back Computer Corner was a better bet. When they called back I was more than happy to hear that the data was salvageable, but not only that, it was an easy fix and the laptop would be back in working order. On top of all that, the screen was slightly cracked and they said they could package that into the price and fix everything. Their price was so cheap that I literally called back a few days later to make sure i was charged the right amount. I felt a little guilty if I would have ripped them off because it's a local business and not a big box store, but, with some confusion in their voice, they said that it was the correct amount they charged me. All in all i feel my karma is in line because I know the cost was correct, but mind is blown because it was incredibly reasonable and I was able to return the new laptop I purchased. These guys are completely worth your time and you may be surprised at the outcome. They have a lot of integrity within a business where most of their customers probably don't have a clue what needs to be done. read more

I went here after bringing my fairly new computer to office max and geek squad, both places told me to buy a new computer. I took it here and was help by someone who truly understood computers. He asked if he could keep it since the easy fix, of course wasn't the answer. I told him no rush, I only use this computer for one work program that won't run off my mac. He called me a day or two later, informing me what he tried and what the next steps will be. Picked up my computer yesterday, about 5 days after I left it. Remember I told him no rush. Installed windows again back up all my documents, re installed them and charged me what I thought was an extremely reasonable fee. Stay away from those other repair options and come straight here. I was referred to Computers Corner by AppleCare advisors. They gave me a choice between waiting three days to get an appointment at the Genius Bar or visiting this place. I called, and was told that I could be taken care of in a matter of minutes. Made the drive from Travis AFB, and easily found the shop in the Target shopping center. Bassem took about three minutes to CORRECTLY diagnose the problem, and another 10 or so to fix it. All the necessary replacement parts were in stock, and in no time flat I was signing the paper, stating that I was satisfied with the repair (was I ever!) and on my way without a penny out of pocket! I regret not writing this review sooner. You know how that goes. It is one of those things you have been meaning to do but . . . Bassem is an honest, hard-working family man. True, his shop is old school with no fancy chairs or lights or seemingly any tidy organization--cords, computer parts and such are scattered all around--I am sure there is an order to all of the chaos, however. I came in here earlier this year thinking I needed to replace/reseal the glass on my iPhone since it was lifting up so much the light from the screen was visible all around the perimeter of the phone. I found out through Bassem, the quiet, gentle, generous owner, that it was my battery that was PUFFING UP LIKE A BALLOON (see pics) underneath pushing the glass up! Whoa! He, in a matter of minutes, and while engaging in pleasant friendly conversation, simply replaced the old puffy battery with a brand new slim one and charged me all of $20. That's it! He said all cell phone batteries do this. I had no idea! It seemed like a considerable safety hazard to me since eventually the batteries corrode and EXPLODE. WHAT?! I am sure no cell phone companies want to acknowledge this, so be forewarned, people! Also any other repair shop would have charged me a fortune to lift and forcefully reseal my glass rather than fix the actual problem with the battery. Thanks Bassem! You are a true gem of a guy! It warms my heart when fathers brag (albeit very modestly, but with much joy and pride) about their kids. Bassem very warmly, and sweetly shared a video of his child scoring an awesome goal on the soccer field.
