Good selection. Geek…read moresquad. I have had mixed results with service knowledge. Not many locations to buy just TV and other electronics.

Extremely Disappointed With Best Buy's Third-Party Installation Service and Lack of Accountability…read more I scheduled and paid for a basic TV wall-mount installation through Best Buy approximately six days in advance. Best Buy confirmed my appointment for September 22 and, on September 21, provided an installation window of 1:30-4:30 PM. At approximately 1:48 PM on September 22, I received a text from Best Buy's third-party installer, FINN AV, stating they were about five minutes away and asking whether someone 18 or older was available. I was in a class and could not immediately respond, but there was an adult at my home who could have let them in. Best Buy also sent a message stating that its third-party installer was attempting to contact me. As soon as I got out of class, I responded to both numbers, confirming that someone was home and asking whether the installers were still coming. I received no response. At one point, I even saw the text bubbles indicating someone was typing a response, but nothing was ever sent. I then called both numbers, left messages, and again received no response. At approximately 3:30 PM--still well within Best Buy's scheduled 1:30-4:30 PM window--I contacted Best Buy myself to find out what was happening. Only then did I learn that the technician had canceled the appointment. I received no cancellation call, text, or email. Had I not contacted Best Buy myself, I apparently would have continued waiting for an installer who was no longer coming. I escalated the issue to a supervisor and was told that the installer had taken a photograph of my house showing the address as evidence that they attempted the service call. But a photograph of the outside of a customer's home proves only that someone was physically near the property. It does not prove that the installer rang the doorbell, knocked, waited a reasonable amount of time for someone to answer, or made a meaningful attempt to complete the scheduled service. Again, an adult was inside the home and available to let them in. What made this experience worse was Best Buy's response when I requested reasonable compensation for the inconvenience. I was told there would be no compensation, the issue had been escalated as high as it could go, I needed to reschedule, and I would still be charged full price for the installation. I got off the phone at approximately 4:00 PM. Best Buy's original installation window did not even end until 4:30 PM. That is unacceptable. Customers arrange their schedules, take time away from work, cancel other obligations, and ensure someone is home based on these appointment windows. When customers miss appointments, companies frequently impose cancellation fees or other consequences. Yet when a company's contractor fails to complete an appointment, provides no cancellation notification, and leaves the customer waiting, apparently the customer is expected to absorb all of the lost time and inconvenience. Accountability should work both ways. I understand Best Buy uses third-party contractors, but I purchased this service from Best Buy. Best Buy accepted my payment, scheduled the appointment, established the service window, and selected the company representing its brand. From the customer's perspective, Best Buy is ultimately responsible for the service it sells. I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I expect Best Buy to acknowledge that this experience fell below an acceptable customer-service standard, investigate what actually occurred with its third-party installer, and provide a reasonable remedy for the inconvenience. Large companies build customer loyalty not by pretending mistakes never happen, but by taking responsibility when they do. Best Buy had an opportunity to make this right. Instead, I was essentially told to reschedule, pay full price, and accept the inconvenience. That is not acceptable customer service, and Best Buy needs to do better.

We bought a little house in East Moline and it needed a fridge. We live in Colorado. Since we…read morewere only going back for a week, we had to purchase the fridge in advance. I went to my old standby Sears, purchased a really nice refrigerator, washer, dryer, and vacuum cleaner. I did this in May, with plenty of time to get it to Illinois for delivery in June. On the day of the delivery, five days before we were headed to Illinois, Sears called and said they don't have the refrigerator but maybe they could get it by the end of the month. OMG, I was freaking out! Now we know why they are going out of business!!! Whirlpool probably wouldn't supply them because they aren't paying their bills? Maybe, maybe not .... Anyway, I got on the internet, found Zeglins, found good google reviews, and called them up. The owner answered the phone and said his son Lee would call me back soon. He called me back within an hour! This was on Wednesday. They actually had the refrigerator in stock, the exact same one I was getting from Sears, they also explained that the washer and dryer I was getting had some problems like only one heat temp available on the dryer, and Sears had not mentioned this to me, so I upgraded and everything was delivered on Tuesday, the day after we arrived in Illinois. We only had to spend one day with an ice chest. This was excellent service, just excellent, and the boys who delivered did an excellent job, too. They were friendly, fast, and efficient. I really look forward to checking out their store next time we go back, and see what else they have. Maybe a TV? This is a local company with a couple of stores in the area, and they really came through when I was desperate. It didn't cost extra, either. Wonderful company. Plus, they gave me no interest and six months to pay. Sears was going to give me a year, but no fridge and lower quality washer and dryer, so the year meant nothing. No need for you to shop anywhere else for appliances. Zeglins. Yes.

Bought a Whirlpool frigerator last Nov had nothing but problems with it, especially the ice maker…read more It makes noise, LOUD noise all the time. Had a repairman come out 90 days later and he basically said; that's just the way they are nowadays. There's nothing we can do. Now 10 months after we bought it, it's so loud it can be heard over the television and it's all day and night long. So I called Zeglins and told them it's under the 1 year warranty, can you replace it since it can't be fixed or swap it for a different model. They told me we don't replace, we only fix. Since it can't be fixed, it's the way things are now, I'm stuck with it. It's not even a year old and it's obviously defective in my book. New appliances shouldn't make this much noise all the time. We will never buy from Zeglins again as they do not stand behind their products.

I've been to this store twice to try and sell my Xbox. The first time they said I needed to bring a…read morecontroller to test it so they couldn't buy it. Why would a store that sells and buys console, games, controllers, etc, not have a test controller in order to test consoles and games? It makes no sense. The second time I went there I had brought a controller for them to use. Then they said it was turning on but it wasnt displaying on the screen. They pulled out another cord that they called the "test cord". The worker told me that "if this cord doesn't work then we know it's the Xbox because this is the test cord." They then told me it must be my console's HDMI port that is broken. The last time I used it, it was working just fine. So, I go home and the first thing I do is plug in the Xbox to test it myself. The console starts up just fine and starts displaying on my screen just fine. NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CONSOLE! I called the store and told them that I just got home and tested the Xbox myself and it was working just fine and told me I would have to come back tomorrow and try again. So now I've drove all the way through town on two separate occasions to try and sell the Xbox at their store and the expect me to do it a third time! Both times ended with me leaving the store upset and confused.

The associate took the tool set and spread it out behind the counter. I then, was interrogated on how I acquired the tools, where they came from, if I had a receipt, and even more. It was horrible, I was treated like criminal being interrogated by a detective. I should not have to nor should there be any reason for me or anyone to have to go through such questioning to the point I had to call the person who gifted them to me in store causing me to have a emotional breakdown and distress. This behavior is totally unacceptable from anyone in any situation especially a business transaction. I asked $150 starting as the set at retail goes anywhere from $299-$399. Resale value at least $150. I tried to get possession of my tool set back when they offered $45, ha. The associate refused to and put the $45 on the counter. I just walked out. I'll be reporting this transaction to multiple government agencies.

ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!! Took my iPhone 7plus to them on 11/27/19 for battery…read morereplacement & cracked screen (screen cracked due to battery expansion). Total cost $200+ . Tech said everything checked out good & battery bursting had no internal effect on phone. FF to last week...I noticed a hairline crack on the right corner of the earpiece. Hadn't dropped it or been abusive with it (it was my mother's until she passed from cancer in 2018) because I keep it in pristine condition. Crack begins to spiderweb across glass before I could go back to Batteries Plus. Checked my paperwork and saw the 180 day guarantee on parts & service with the disclaimer. Returned to store this afternoon & same tech told me it wasn't covered under warranty, how does he know i didn't drop or abuse it, what can he do it's been 3 months since replaced, said the company has come down on them real hard since the first of 2020 about warranties. Told me he would talk to the store manager, went to back room (while store manager was at the front counter the whole time) came back up after a few minutes and was told no one would approve the warranty replacement. For clarification, I asked if I would have to pay another $119 on top of the $200+ I initially paid & was told 'yes if you want it repaired'. I work in management for a 40 year old entertainment company. I know that the warranty covers my situation. There was an obvious defect in the replacement glass, which could have been replaced & returned to the supplier for a return credit to Batteries Plus. Customer & Company both satisfied. If I (or any employee) ever told a customer, 'How do I know that it didn't work? How do I know that you didn't do the damage? Sorry there is nothing I can do, you just have to spend more money." it would be immediate termination. And that is for $1-$3 movie/game rentals. I will never return & will relay this unfortunate and unacceptable situation to the several hundred people that I interact with on a weekly basis.
