This is an excellent shop for your computing needs. I took on a project to help my son build a gaming computer, I had to go to them to help us TWICE ! Each time they were very patient and unpretentious about addressing my issues and gave great recommendation on next steps! I will definitely return with my computer needs. read more

Older Iphone, cracked screen, great price, lickity split repair... Like New!

I brought my desktop in and I needed a new hard drive. They replaced it and installed windows on it. But I wish they wouldn't have installed all the unnecessary software. Also I tried to upgrade to windows 10 while Microsoft was giving away upgrades for free, and it said I didn't have a license key for windows 8, so they must have used a cracked version of windows 8 when installing it. Edit: I called Justin, the owner, and he was very helpful. He's giving me a windows 10 product key free of charge. Offered to fix everything himself, but I moved recently, and I don't want to drive all the way down, so I'm just going to do the install myself. read more

I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for small or big jobs. I came in a few weeks ago with an emergency. I needed a new program installed to take a required certification test for an employer on that day. I wasn't sure if they would be able to help me, considering my computer already had other issues and I spent hours trying to install the program myself. Computer Prodigies were able to download the program so fast I even had time to shop for a new mouse. Big thanks for your help!!! read more

Excellent, professional customer service. My total turnaround time from quote on the phone to picking up my laptop was less than 24 hours. The proprietor gave an honest, accurate quote based on the actual labor involved, not some predetermined price sheet for specific services. This is a service that you hope you never have to use, but I'm really glad that this place is here. After one visit, he has my trust and my future business. read more

Great customer service, quick turn around time and quality work on both my laptop and phone. Highly recommend!

came into the shop after having spilled water all over a friend's laptop. The computer would not even turn on and I thought for sure I would have to buy a brand new one. Justin took a look at it and within a week compeltely repaired the computer like new for 1/3 of the cost of a new one! It was a miracle! Justin's shop is one of the best I've come across. 100% will recommend him to anyone looking for great computer repairs. read more

Fast/Quality service. My 2 yr old hard drive was shot, so I decided to research to find a place that wouldn't rip me off. I wanted a straight, simple solution. Most of the shops (Geek Squad, etc) I went to took like 3-4 days to diagnose the problem and then they would try to upsell by advising to repair with unnecessary solutions. Thank God I found Computer Prodigies. Same/1 day diagnosis, 1-2 days service; only replaced what was needed; inexpensive; The owner, Justin, gained my complete trust from the moment I dropped off my laptop and my instinct was right! I will never go anywhere else for my computer needs as long as they are around. 5 stars read more

Dropped in to fix an iPhone screen that consequently cracked from accidentally dropping it. We were in and out in 20 minutes. They were upfront about only having a black screen available to replace our shattered white glass. In that time, they provided a quote, offered us water while waited, and performed the replacement. True customer service professionals and great work. They even offered us a tempered glass protector and in showing us, we fumbled it and dropped that on the floor, cracking that! We are so sorry guys! But we appreciate your quick and professional work. I would definitely recommend family and friends to you guys. Thanks! read more

Super fast and knowledgeable staff. I took in my iPhone screen to get fixed and was thoroughly impressed, would recommend to everyone

Justin at Computer Prodigies has done repair on my husband's lap top computer and I have purchased a refurbished desktop from him as well. His service is always professional, timely and fairly priced and he's able to explain issues very clearly. Justin set up my desktop exactly how I wanted it and all I had to do when I got home was plug it in. I would HIGHLY recommend Computer Prodigies to anyone. read more

My $1500 gaming/work laptop was hideously infected with malware, adware, trojans, the lot. I looked up some good tech repair shops in the SW side and this place caught my eye because of the consistently perfect ratings. And for a good reason. I brought my rig on Wednesday and got it back by the end of the next day running like new. No more popups every time I browse the web, no more annoying hyperlinks in all the wrong places, and best of all, its as fast as when i first got her. And for a VERY reasonable cost with no gimmicks or hidden fees. I highly recommend these guys to anyone in Chicago with a computer full of problems. They sure live up to their motto, "Loyalty through Honesty" Ill definitely come back when i have another computer or smartphone problem. read more

Shattered my iPhone 6Plus screen. Found Computer Prodigies on Yelp - one of a few phone/computer repair shops on Yelp in south Chicago with good reviews. They offered to finish my phone that day, but I was in a rush. They called, and texted, my work number the next day to confirm pick up. They work quickly and it's quality for a reasonable price. read more

The best place for repairs. Great service and advice. I've taken in my cpu, bought a cpu and laptop. I've referred friends. CP always the best service and very helpful and affordable we are repeat customers.

Add another great review to the list. My husband originally brought his Samsung phone in to replace the screen. His screen was replaced within 2 hours and he's very happy with it. Also, we were having some cooling fan issues with our laptop. We brought it in and Justin and his staff were friendly, helpful and upfront with pricing. Since we'd brought the laptop in more than once for the same issue in 30 days we were only charged for the part; not the labor. We received the laptop back in a timely fashion and Justin was always easy to get a hold of - and very friendly! Thanks, Justin! Hopefully we won't need to bring our laptop back for service but if we do we know you'll take care of us! read more

I called in tonight to get pricing on replacing my iPhone 6 plus' screen. Unfortunately, I didn't get the mans name that picked up the phone but he was extremely helpful and offered a great alternative since the replacement of the screen was very expensive. I would definitely trust this shop with any phone repairs and will be sure to recommend them. It's great to see there's still honest helpful people out there. read more

In January my laptop crashed so I brought it to my IT guys at work. They handed it back to me after 2 weeks and said there was no way they would be able to fix it. After waiting 8 months, I decided to give it one last try before accepting the fact that all my files and pictures would be gone and buy a new one. Did a simple Google search and found Justin at Computer Prodigies....then I read the reviews!!!! Needless to say in a only a few days Justin fixed my computer, recovered all of my files and it was very inexpensive! Very happy customer! read more

Trustworthy, accountable, knowledgable, and reasonable. I highly recommend Computer Prodigies! I recently had a cracked screen on an ipad 2 and contacted Apple to ask about the cost of this repair. Given that I did not have a service plan, I was quoted a price that would be half that of a new ipad. This made me wonder if it was time to replace the tablet, but I decided to look into other options for repair, and I'm so glad I did! After a lot of research into computer and tablet repair in the Chicago area, I came across Computer Prodigies. Given the many positive reviews posted about CP on various online resources, I called them for a quote on this repair. Over the phone, Justin provided a very reasonable price and also stressed that CP provides a 6-month guarantee on their work. Given the price, the guarantee, and the positive reviews referencing a trust and confidence in this business, I chose CP for the repair and am confident that this was the best choice. The tablet was functional, though a bit slow in operating. Justin and Jorge both reported that along with the screen replacement, an analysis would be performed on the tablet to diagnose any issues that might impact the speed or quality of operation. I left the ipad overnight and was contacted the next day to inform me that the repair was complete and that the slow performance was due to the ipad needing updates. Upon bringing the tablet home, I discovered a few issues; the screen was not securely fixed, the tablet was unresponsive to any prompt of the power buttons, and the ipad required a complete restore of its original settings. I returned to the shop the first thing the next morning with my ipad. Without hesitation or question, Justin took the tablet and assured me that the issues would be assessed and appropriate corrections made. Within a day or two, Jorge contacted me to report that the ipad needed a replacement part that was likely damaged in the repair process. (I had learned during my initial research that damage during this repair is common.) He also reported that the shop would absorb the cost of this part and the additional labor to make the ipad functional. Within another few days, I was contacted about the repair being complete. This time around, the screen was very secure, with additional glue and a few pieces of safety tape. I brought the ipad home, restored it again (I needed to correct an error I made on my initial restore), and have been using it for the past few days with absolutely no issues. In fact, the ipad works better than before it was brought in for the initial repair! In my experience working with this business, they stand by their work and can be trusted to do what they say. I highly recommend CP for your tablet repair and will use them as my first choice if I encounter future computer-related issues. read more

This place fixed my cracked Iphone screen in 20 minutes! Walked right in, dropped off, got a coffee, and was done before I came back. They put a shatter-guard screen protector on as well and give you a 6 month warranty to bring it back in- if the protector is coming off, it cracks, or you can't swipe on your screen. Good deal! Great service! Def recommend read more

I got my iPhone fixed twice here took me a while to pick a place since I wanted something close and I saw all their reviews were great. The first time I had to go 3 times before actually getting it fixed because the first time they didn't have enough time even though I went an hour before they closed, the second time their tech guy was out, the third time he went on an errand but at this point they knew it was the third time so he offered to keep my phone and drop it off at my house which I thought was nice he gave me some business cards I love spreading the word of a great business but my phone was returned with a corner dented and a bubble on the screen and I still had to press the screen down you can tell the glue was still there but what bothered me was the air bubble which was very noticeable and annoying. I took it to repair because I had called to let them know about it and for my luck it cracked so of course their charging me again I decided to tell them the touch wasn't working I wanted to see if they would be honest. I dropped off the phone and was going to pick it up at a later time. By the time I went back when it was ready sure enough they told me they were charging me additional because there was a problem with the touch I was laughing inside because it worked fine I just wanted to see if they would rip me off, oh and that time I got it back with out the little 2 screws at the bottom. My phone recently cracked and I definitely did not choose to go back even though they are close to me I decided to go all the way to the North Side where they did an excellent job at a better price and I've definitely warned all my people about this place. read more

I brought 2 laptops (one for my mom) and my pc in to Justin to fix. All three are working great now. One we needed the same day because my mom was flying out the the next day and he took care of it. Justin took the time to load certain programs that we needed. He is very resonably priced and he gives you the personal attention you wouldn't get from best buy. We just received a call last week just to see how they were working. Small business is the way to go! read more

Found out it wasn't my actual adapter that had stopped working, but the actual charger port inside the computer. So I rushed to the library to get internet access(my computer was dead) to look up computer IT techs near me, came across 2 and went with Justin's company Computer Prodigies and was very happy that I did. The reviews from Yelp and his actual website won me over! I called him and even though he was about to leave due to a personal matter, he actually was patient and heard me out and we scheduled a meeting for that Sunday of Memorial weekend and he worked on the holiday so I didn't have wait too long to get my diagnostic results! My computer is now chargeable and I even took him my Sony e reader and he let me know, it wasn't worth fixing. My own actual laptop is next! Thanks again Justin! read more
