My desktop computer crashed, well I call it a crash because it would not bring up my icons or give me any screen so I could sign onto my computer. The computer doctor said the hard drive stopped working he didn't use the term crash. I dropped off my computer on Wednesday July 22, 2020. He mentioned that it would take at least a week before he could look at it and determine the problem. Wow! That was the last thing I wanted to hear because I had just come from orientation to start work for the 2020 Census Bureau and they mentioned we will be training from home on our own computers. My desktop was my only computer and my significant other was working from home on his notebook, which wasn't going to work for me anyway. He also has an old outdated laptop that he plays video movies on which most definitely wasn't going to work because they gave us some computer requirements for an update computer, which mine would have handled but not his. Therefore, I had to purchase a laptop to complete my training which we had a deadline date to complete. Since I had purchased the laptop, it wasn't that much of a rush, rush situation but I was curious to know if I had become a victim of a Spyware virus or something since my granddaughter use my computer on occasion. So there is a $36.00 deposit to determine the problem and if you choose to have the computer fixed then the deposit is applied towards your final bill. Since it had been almost a week and a half from dropping off the computer, and no one had me, I decided to call him to get an update. When I called the receptionist stated he was with another client and he had checked out my computer and she will have him to call me back. David, the owner and technician said he had just gotten to my computer over an hour ago and he had two suggestions for me. Honestly, I don't think he told me the second suggestion because after hearing the first which was replacing the processor to a much faster and better one than what I had, I jumped on that. Which I had to give him $107.91 to get started. I believe it only took two of his business days to complete. I say his business days because his operating days were Monday, Wednesday and Friday's due to COVID. No weekends. When I pick up my computer, I owed an additional $179.00, bringing my over all total to $322.91.
David was very professional and he sat down with me to explain everything that was done, installed my MicroSoft Word, using my key and answered all of my questions I had. I am very pleased with the outcome of everything! The reason for the Four stars and not Five is that his hours of operation, being three days a week and no weekends hours and that the contract states thirty day guarantee on hardware and a minimal fee for other issues--I think. However, I have Not had any problems and my computer is operating and performing better than when it was new. He mentioned that I have a new computer now and I am very PLEASED. read more
