A working man diner to be sure don't get any misconceptions that this is a fancy spot. This is the spot you're more likely to fit in if you are in uniform or working. You will be treated with the utmost kindness but you will encounter looks if you take a photo of your food. As a working man in civilian clothes I don't give a dam what people think . Been here many times and every time you can get the south's favorites. Liver pudding is a specialty here and they actually ask how you want it prepared cooked crispy or just regular. A sign of knowledge as I've spent 40 years in the south I've seldom heard that request from a waitress. Diners like this are few and far between. I make my pilgrimage here at least once or twice a year. True southerners will like the breakfast special last available all week ! Opened early everyday.

This is the last of the dying breed of restaurants that have a meat and three veggies for about $8. There are 4 or 5 meats to choose from along with veggies. The veggies are fresh sometimes when they are in season. Can't beat it even though it is a hole in the wall.

Since the manager Monica left, the place has gone downhill. It's dirty, the service is lacking, and the food is inconsistent. Very sad.

That gave me the perfect excuse to finally stop at Zesto--thanks to everyone who's nudged me toward it. Your recommendations were spot on. I ordered a fried chicken dinner at the window, though the handoff system was a bit of a mystery. After paying, I wandered into the dining room and found a seat. A few minutes later, the food arrived--no buzzer, no shout, just a quiet drop-off--and I was ready to dig in. The chicken was fresh from the fryer, piping hot, and fully cooked through. Not spicy, but flavorful and juicy in all the right ways. I polished off every piece with enthusiasm, leaving only the dinner roll untouched. The two little tubs of cole slaw didn't stand a chance either--crisp, creamy, and gone before I knew it. I did linger a moment, debating the chocolate-dipped ice cream cone that Zesto's known for, but tonight wasn't the night. Maybe next time, when I'm not so full or so close to a food coma. Customer service was excellent. They were friendly and provided consistently great service. The smash burger was on point. Although they have some appealing burger offerings, I ordered the build-your-own. You choose your meat, cheese, toppings, and bun. The smash burger had a wonderful cheese melt, it was flavorful, the haystack onions were delicious, and the brioche pulled it all together. The other toppings were fresh. I ordered the truffle fries to go along with the burger. Fries only come with a few of their dishes. I wish the portion size of fries was a little more than what you get for the price; nevertheless, they were cooked well and were very good fries. Their ranch was tasty also. The food was served hot. I was so pleased with our experience.

Grill Marks Review…read more Walking into Mark's Grill, I was immediately impressed by the welcoming atmosphere. They offer both indoor seating and a nice outdoor patio. The restaurant was a bit busy when I arrived, and I was asked if sitting at the bar was okay, which I didn't mind at all. As soon as I sat down, the bartender greeted me and took my order right away. excellent service from the start. He was very outgoing and friendly. When the seat next to me opened up, he immediately cleaned the area, which was great to see, especially during a busy time. The place overall felt very clean and well maintained. I ordered the Smokehouse Burger with fries. While waiting, the bartender consistently checked on me and kept my drink refilled, which I really appreciated. He even came back to let me know that the food was taking a little longer than usual since they weren't expecting it to be that busy. I completely understood and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere while waiting. The food arrived in about 24 minutes and looked fantastic. The burger was cooked exactly how I asked which was well done and tasted great. I upgraded my fries to the bleu pimiento fries, and they were absolutely delicious. Everything was spot on. After lunch, I ordered a Cookies & Cream dirt shake, and it was amazing. The presentation was fun, and you could tell care went into how it was made. They also have a full bar with a good selection of alcohol, although I didn't order any drinks this visit. I spent about $36.00 total including tip. Overall, my experience at Mark's Grill was excellent. Great food, outstanding service, and a clean, welcoming environment. 5/5 -- I'll definitely be back.
