I have been bringing my kids to comprehensive pediatrics since my oldest was born over 8 years ago. The practice has deteriorated since that time. I think it speaks horribly on your customer service philosophy when you ask patients to come in to wait for 2 hours or longer. I believe the girls at the front desk do this in order to close up earlier. Nobody is ever there until their published hours. They stop answering phones well before closing time, and don't get me started on how long it takes to get NY DOH forms for your child's school or daycare. You can easily wait a month or longer. In the interim you're expected to call every few days to harass them for the paperwork. I wouldn't be surprised if they are out of business at some point. Worst customer service experience I've ever had. We're finding a new pediatrician. read more

I highly recommend this office, my son is a new patient and is 3 months old now, Dr. Pinedo came to see him everyday we were in the hospital after he was born. My son was also diagnosed with pyloric stenosis, Dr. P recognized his symptoms immediately and within a day was scheduled for his surgery, he even came out to Long Island where the surgery was to check in on him. He goes above and beyond for his patients and its something I have never experienced with any other doctor (and I have a 10 yr old daughter). I switched my daughter over to this office to be under the care of Dr. P because he is truly amazing and extremely caring, patient, understanding and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dr. Pinedo, he is the best!! The staff here are also wonderful. Kim and Paola and the rest of the girls are the best! They are friendly, patient and extremely caring and my kids are always so excited to see them. Every time I need something they are always quick with answers and I never have to wait long to see the doctor. They really know what they are doing and my family always feels so welcome here. Kim in particular always goes above and beyond to help my kids feel safe and calm during appts and if I need anything. read more

The staff at the Targee office is the absolute best!! If it's not too busy, they do forms on the spot. They squeeze me in even if I don't have an appointment. The front desk receptionists are very kind to my children and the nurses in the back have the best bedside manner. I can tell Dr Faraci really cares about his patients. I have been a patient of Dr. Nick (Faraci) since I was a kid, my sisters went to him and all of our kids go to him. He is genuinely a genius I've come to believe and has a skill for knowing what to do to help children especially those who are sick. My family has a history of asthma and my 5 year old has been suffering from it the last few winters and Dr. Nick has him with a pediatric pulmonologist that has him breathing beautifully. The Targee street office has horrible office staff. I originally started going to this office because my baby saw Dr. Pinedo in Richmond University when her was first born. He is a fantastic Dr. My baby is 9 months now and the past few months my husband took the baby to the office for regular wellness checks have been horrible !!! They said we were having bad office experiences because we came on Thursdays and Thursday's are just busy because Dr. Faraci was in the office. So we changed appointments to a Friday. Well Friday was not any better. My husband was waiting 2 hours. One hour he spent in the room itself. Keeping the baby without clothing in a cold room is not fun! My baby does not even cry easily. He was crying the whole time. When my husband asked the staff how much longer it will be they acted like they couldn't hear him. I've noticed on all occasions I went the office staff go about talking about other patients and how their parents are so annoying in front of other parents who are in the waiting area with their children. They all have ghetto attitudes. The office staff act like they are the Drs themselves. They are clueless. I've worked in the medical & pharmaceutical industry a long time and have seen horrible staff at medical offices and have to say this is by far the worst. If you can actually bare to deal with the horrible service at the front desk then maybe you will be happy with this office. I feel bad for the Drs who work here because they lose so many patients due to the incompetent staff. read more

My daughter is 4 months old and we are planning on moving her to another pediatrician for her monthly visits going forward. We have been very dissatisfied with the level of service at Comprehensive pediatrics on Targee street. We actually chose Comprehensive Pediatrics due to Dr. Farachi, because he is a very good doctor and highly regarded...however, he is only available on Thursdays, so our child has never actually seen him. This practice is run more like an urgent care facility vs. a pediatricians office where you feel like you're receiving personalized individual care. It's a revolving door. No one will ever get to know you or your child. It's a rush facility, attention to detail is not a priority. The only good thing about them is they're open on Sundays, which is why I gave it 2 stars. There are a lot of concerns and problems with this office unfortunately and as a first time parent I feel like I need to speak up and inform other new moms. 1- The nurses are very unprofessional. They congregate at the front desk and seem very immature carrying on about their personal lives. On our very first visit, 2 days after the baby was born, the nurse who took care of my child smelled of cigarettes. I mean, she stunk of cigarettes...It was overpowering. I had major concerns about her putting her hands all over my newborn. In many hospitals and medical facilities where the patients are children, the medical staff are not actually allowed to smoke. Another issue with the nurses is that each time we go, the nurse is more concerned with what brand of shoes I'm wearing or how cute my baby is vs. providing us with relevant information about our child's progress. Without fail, every single time they ask me which vaccines we're in for. Thank god that I'm able to articulate our needs, but they put a lot of pressure on you as a parent to know all this stuff. They rely on the parent to feed them all the information. I'm not a doctor, they should be telling me what we're going to be doing with the baby that day. It's very unsettling that they're not prepared with this information. 2-My child has seen about 4 or 5 different doctors. There is no consistency, they have no idea who my child is and what her needs are, so for each visit, I need to give our entire background over and over. There is no historical comparison for the visits. For example, the doctor will never know if my kids head was more flat at the last visit and if it's improved, each visit is treated as a first visit where we need to start all over with going over things. 3- We had a 10am appt last time we were there, and waited for 2 hours to see a doctor. This is unacceptable when dealing with infants. I cannot plan for such things nor should I when I've done the right thing by making an appointment and arriving on time. 4- The doctors provide a general overview, but do not really take enough time to get to really examine the child thoroughly. Nor do they get to know the child. If you have major concerns about a particular issue with your child, you will not get a comprehensive evaluation here, you will just get a general physical. I recommend going to get a second opinion if you're unsure about a diagnosis. In my last visit, I told the doctor about a second opinion I got from a reputable hospital in Manhattan, and all he could do was ask me over and over "Well what did they say". When I asked his thoughts on the matter, he just kept asking me what the second opinion thought. I felt like it was very difficult to speak with him. He was relying on me to feed him information and pulling anything knowledgeable from him was extremely difficult. I left feeling like I did all the talking- explaining the diagnosis to him- which left me very unsettled. You take your kid to these people because you hope they will guide you, and know to find the things, you as a new parent don't know to look for. You look for their guidance and authoritative voice, but that wasn't the case- my husband and I don't have trust and confidence in this practice unfortunately. read more

I brought both of my children to this office for an emergency visit. I was greeted with a very warm welcoming staff that helped me promptly. We were seen by Dr Pinedo who was extremely knowledgeable and took his time explaining medical terms until I completely understood everything. The office manager was very helpful when I called back inquiring about the medicine prescribed as well as the bill I received from the lab. Furthermore dr Pinedo called me personally to follow up and check in on my children. I highly recommend this office!! read more

I choose this office based on referrals from friends, Dr Faraci's reputation, the facts that they have a separate sick and well room, the availability and that they do instant blood work in the office. However after going to this office for many months I finally decided to switch to a different practice. My reasons are: 1. When my son was a newborn he had reflux and chronic projectile vomiting. When I called to voice my concerns, I was told "it only looks like a large amount, but its just normal spit up" even though I needed a blanket to catch the amount being thrown up. He was a very cranky baby also and when I finally convinced one of the doctors to give him Zantac, everything changed. 2. The practice is so large no one knows who my child is. We can see doctors multiple times and they still introduce themselves like we've never met. I want a doctor who is familiar with my son. 3. My son had blood work done. The nurse/med assistant left the results on the counter in the exam room. While I waited another half hour to see the dr I noticed on the results that my son was very anemia. Doctor came in did a quick exam and said we were done. He never even looked at the results. When I asked about the blood work he asked "Do you have a concern?" When he finally looked at it he told us we needed to start giving iron drops. 4. Was told by the on-call dr that my child's hives from an allergic reaction was just "dry skin" and not to give Benadryl. (brought him to the office first thing in the morning. was told it was an allergic reaction and to give benadryl). read more

I picked this practice due to the high reputation of Dr Faraci. However, in the 3 months that I brought my infant son in, I saw five different doctors and always had a very long (1-2 hour) wait. Some were not at all thorough and one terrified my son. The one time I did see Dr Faraci, he told me to take Reglan to boost my milk production, and condescendingly dismissed my questions about side effects, after which I discovered the pills are quite terrible and sometimes have permanent effects. I've since switched practices (Dr Clifford Mevs) and my son and I are both much happier. read more

This office is absolutely horrendous. The first time we went they made us sit there for more than an hour to tell us they couldn't give us a shot. The following day we transferred our medical records to receive shots. We waited an hour and a half with one other patient waiting. The following time we went, an appointment was scheduled over the phone. After sitting there for a few minutes. The staff told us they didn't have our medical records again but if we wanted we could pay out of pocket. There were many sick and well children in the waiting room. The staff is terrible at their job, good luck trying to get through them to see a doctor. It's also any doctor in the office. read more

Oh Dr.Donati!!! I hugged him after he gave my 4 year old 4 shots. That's how amazing he is!!! He is the most amazing doctor to give a 4 year old 4 shots in under a minute so my son wouldn't "suffer" the anxiety of them. His bear hug method was impeccably effective and the best I've ever seen. Not only did it make my son feel secure it made me confident when he allowed me to be in the hug for my son to feel safe in the arms of his mother too. The only reason my son complained was because he was looking at what he was doing. Not a tear was she'd just an "owie, no more boo boo shots mommy" You are incredible Dr. Donati!!! You truly deserve an award for how amazing you are with your patients!! read more

I read the last review and was pretty surprised by it .... We've been using this office for quite some time and while nothing in life is perfect, this office provides pretty good care. If you want to see Dr. Faraci all you h ave to do is say so and he will be booked for you. I have never been told I cannot see Dr. Faraci. I've been told I could come in sooner perhaps than I wanted to, if I were agreeable to see another physician. Our kids were seen in the office, our forms were completed in a timely fashion without a fee and we were scheduled for a followup appointment after we were to go to the foot doctor. All the staff seemed very helpful and we did get our lab results when we called back a few days later. I did not mind terribly waiting to see the doctor and it was pretty obvious while in the waiting room that lots of people want Dr. Faraci. I hesitate to rank on staff or complain about them because there are alot of people working there that are obviously there to assist the doctor and the kids during the exam. read more
