Giving just a one star rating is one thing I think over several times before I hit one. This place…read moredeserves one not for the Doctor but the way he/ his front desk runs his clinic. I took my wife here for a general consultation for cold after spotting this place to be a premium care and also within her network, through her insurance login. To our dismay, everything started falling apart right after we started interacting with the front desk person. It was an old lady who interacted with us and what we thought was a formal way of asking us where we were from, turned out to be a nightmare when she discovered that her sons were doing business in our hometown in India. She started recollecting the business holding name, places that she knows in our state and everything else other than getting us in. These were certain things that hit the sour spot- 1. Icebreaker speech cannot become a lakeside conversation 2. If they cannot accept credit or debit card just because they don't have a card reader, they cannot direct the patients to walk across to an ATM to withdraw the deductible money to pay them. 3. There needs to be a separate front desk to take calls. With no exaggeration, there were at least 10 calls on their intercom that the front desk receptionist was trying to juggle between them and while interrogating us (mind you, the paperwork hadn't started then) 4. We wondered why they had a computer in the first place as the details collection all happened on a piece of paper. 5. While we were starting to feel uneasy on every passing minute(we were 25 minutes past our appointment time already and my wife's name was hardly written on the paper), another patient turned up and she right away abandoned the paperwork and walked to the weighing machine to get his weight checked. 6. After getting back to the paperwork, she finally started writing down the symptoms, other medications that my wife takes and finally asked for her SSN. This is when we thought No more and decided to leave to catch up for another personal appointment that we were already late for. Again, this review is by no means to judge the Doctor's expertise and only the way our registration was handled and our unpleasant front desk experience.

Although she knows her insurance carriers, she has way too much on her hands, so many things fall through the cracks and calls/correspondence go unanswered. Due to this, we are seeking proper care elsewhere. I have had to wait 45-60 mins. each time I arrive for a scheduled appointment. Papers have been lost, phone calls not returned and excuses made about office machinery being 'broken'. Never again, nor can I recommend anyone use him as your primary care provider. A rude office manager who sits and chats all day whilst patients wait, is unacceptable.

I don't care what reasons you have for closing the office, you have a cell phone to notify the patients if you have to close! Unbelievably careless!

He made sarcastic comments about my families medical history, and interpersonal issues, that were highly triggering and upsetting. For a first impression it was pretty jarring. He knew things about my family, that I hadnt discussed with him myself, and for him to bring them up with lack of consideration for my feelings on our first meeting... It felt invasive, unprofessional, inappropriate, insensitive and out of bounds. I felt super uncomfortable, and violated and was shaking when I left. I haven't been back since the first visit. The office hours make it pretty hard to make appointments, and the behavior of the woman at the front desk is highly unpleasant - she was awfully rude whenever I inquired about refills on medication or to make appointments. I went once and never went back. Horrible, and traumatic experience.

They unfortunately don't take my insurance but I go here anyway and pay out of pocket because when you find a Doctor you trust , you don't leave. The current office staff is excellent as well. Dr Savino listens , cares, and takes as long as you need with each visit. The other plus is that you never really wait a long time for your visit. I think generally, the wait is maybe 10-15 minutes , if that. Obviously, things happen when it's longer but that's very rare. I always recommend them. Best Doctors on Staten Island as far as I'm concerned.

He's extremely thorough and listens to his patients, which I think is sometimes lacking with many medical professionals. He recommended testing for something just by looking at me and turned out he was right but thankfully it ended up not being something very bad (I prefer not to give my medical history which makes this sentence read awkward lol). Basically, he's just an awesome doctor and I can say easily the best I've encountered in years. I travel from Brooklyn to see him bc I will no longer trust anyone else with my medical care (I realize BK to SI isn't far but there are tons of doctors in Brooklyn)

However, Dr. Mancino and the other doctors in his same office, please take action with your front office staff by getting them proper customer service training since most reviews on the internet of your office, not the doctors, are negative. I called on June 4, 2020 to make an appointment and spoke to Donna. She was very pleasant while explaining that since we are in a pandemic virtual calls are scheduled. Totally understand. She then goes on to request my insurance which is Aetna Core Plus. She stated she is not familiar with it and needs to check if they accept this insurance. After putting me on a brief hold she comes back onto the call stating 'the girl" (no name, doesn't tell me who the "the girl" is in the office, etc.) "The girl" said she needs to see the card. You'd have to fax it. First, let's start with the obvious....fax....archaic. Email would be more up to date and better faster choice to view the card. Was not given that option. Second, as she stated, we are in a pandemic. Keeping that in mind, not many people working from home these days have fax machines. I know i don't. When I stated that I was told well sorry, she needs to see the card. Getting past that, I offered to give her my Aetna Insurance Group number, ID number and telephone number on the insurance card so "the girl" can call Aetna and get whatever information she requires (I don't know what's needed so I can't call) so I can make the appointment. Donna then states, "no, she has to see the card." Really? I don't think I need to say anymore because it's quite obvious the level we are dealing with here. Dr. Mancino, I heard good things about you. Too bad most of us will not get to experience your expertise because you lack competent staff and due to that will be going elsewhere.
