However, over time, probably since the move to the new office, he became quite brief w/ exams. While wait times were never more than a few minutes, the time he spent actually examining was minimal at best. Appointments were like revolving doors- patient in patient out. His body language said it all- feet and shoulders pointed to the door during any conversation, as if to say, "lets hurry this up, I have more patients to see." Again, this was not the case in the beginning but occured after the move to the new office. This all came to a head when I took my daughter to him (3 yr old) when she was sick. We didn't know what was wrong. She was running a fever on & off, complained about stomach aches. She was very, lethargic- not the usual illness. Leuzzi did an exam, checked her belly etc. When I mentioned the lethargy, he questioned if she was just tired. I said I didn't think so. He replied, "Well the physical exam doesn't show anything." He wasn't rude but his dismissive tone was clear. The next day was worse. My daughter could barely walk. We took her to a walk-in. They told us to take her to the ER-that it could be her appendix. After getting a bunch of tests, we were told it could be a # of things (cancer was one possibility ) but they didn't have the expertise to deal with it, so they sent us to Cohen's. To make this part brief, our daughter had surgery that morning to remove a cyst that was wrapped around her ovary. She ended up losing about 20% of an ovary. She made a full recovery and that ovary is still functional. The whole experience was just emotionally draining for all of us Where Leuzzi was concerned, we didn't get ANY call from him thereafter until Monday. The surgery Sunday am. His 3 yr old patient had surgery, but he couldn't bother to check on her until the week started. She spent all day and night Sunday in a hospital bed, connected to tubes, etc, w/ nary a word from dr... what is more, the message he left when called Monday afternoon seemed & once again, brief. Something to the effect of "It's Dr. Leuzzi, call me back." This was a MAJOR disappointment. We were more hurt than angry. Getting a diagnosis wrong was not our major concern. The issue for us was the quick exams w/ rarely any time to ask questions. We changed drs. We agonized over it b/c we liked him. That event was the final straw. Changing pediatrician's was not borne out of this event alone but the culmination of months and months of... neglect during exams. When asking the staff to send the records to our new pediatrician they sent wrong material. After months of back and forth, (including phone calls from our new pediatrician, myself and my wife), one of the staff member's told my wife that the doctor's notes are only sent at the discretion of the doctor, that the files were in storage so would take some time. They were insensitive to the fact that we needed them for school. I mention this because another review said the exact same thing was told to her. In fact the secretary told my wife, "In 30 years I never had issues like this with former patients." It was as if their attitude was punitive. While not sending notes is certainly his right, I think it is also reflective of a hostile attitude--one that perhaps puts money over the patient. Because our money was no longer going to them, we became more dispensable than ever. And yes, Leuzzi was never rude to us directly, but his staff is a reflection of him and his practice. The issues are systemic. It is clear to us that Leuzzi's way of doing business became just that--a business. If this review were just about likability, it would be five stars. If you want a Dr. w/ a friendly face & an amiable, easy-going personality, go w/ Leuzzi. But if you want someone willing to spend time with you and your kids, to answers all questions, and truly listen, I would strongly suggest going elsewhere.

Pediatric health care always gives same day sick appointments and even has Saturday hours until 2pm. My daughter's first well visit here at the age of 3 was the most comprehensive one she's had. I love that they take you right into the exam room so you are not waiting in a gross waiting room, and the longest we've waited in the exam room was about 25min. The doctor is actually listen and answer all questions, and we never felt rushed. Give them a try- truly a unique gem in the pediatric world

When my son started experiencing strange side effects from a minor injury Dr. Lebron (correctly) forced my wife and I to take him to a hospital. Dr. Lebron would not stop harassing the hospital over the phone until we were able to make an appointment with a top Doctor in the correct field (harder than you would think)! She most likely saved my son from needing his foot to be amputated. More recently, I called the office @8PM expecting to leave a voicemail. Instead, Dr. Lebron picked up the phone herself, and facetimed me as soon as she heard the issue. Her demeanor truly sets her apart; while I never want to call her, I am always relieved after speaking with Dr. Lebron.

Dr. Lebron was always quick to send us to another specialist causing these first-time parents a lot of anxiety. When we thought he was having a flat head as a baby, she sent us to a helmet specialist because it might affect our son's "facial asymmetry". My wife took him to North Jersey only to be told to wait it out and come back if the head does not improve. It did improve. When our son had some level of speech delay, she sent us to an Early Intervention and Developmentalist. She said she was not going to perform a diagnosis but suspects it could be autism so she made a prescription to be seen by the specialists. Due to the long wait with in-network providers, we went straight to out-of-network practitioners to have our son evaluated. The occupational therapist and speech therapist performed a 1 1/2 hour comprehensive evaluation and he was interacting pretty well, although we had to address the speech part. At the next late afternoon check-up with Dr. Lebron, she used the word "not normal" when he was not making eye contact. Take note, she was seeing her for 3 minutes without being playful. It was a long wait before he could see her and the boy was already cranky. She was quick to speculate that something was wrong with our kid. We eventually found a developmentalist and he tested negative after a comprehensive evaluation. Bottom line, if there was a cause of concern, perhaps she should be mindful of communicating with the parents. I understand the need to cover all bases but it wouldn't hurt to brush up on some bedside manners as a doctor. It would be best not to cause any unnecessary panic to the parents. Our son has caught up with his developmental milestones and we have been free from any unnecessary worries after transferring him to another practice. We pulled him out after he turned 2.
