I have been on hormone therapy for the last decade, which the Dr. immediately made clear she disagreed with because I looked like I was in "good shape" and didn't need it. I found her to be condescending ,disinterested and worst of all judgmental. At one point I mentioned my quality of life without the hormone therapy as well as the impact on my marriage/sex life, her response was "yeah... you'll feel like shit for a few months! ... no options , no step down plan , just tough luck And oh come back in ten week. So if you've got a sensitive hormone issue that you'd like to be taken seriously Dr. Reddy isn't for you.

I told her the…read moretesting I had done with an endocrinologist, what she thought may be going on, my concerns about fertility (I am 24 and soon to be married), if she could refer me to a fertility specialist, etc.. she asked me if I could be pregnant, which of course I would've had the baby after missing all my periods over that span of time, my cycle history, birth control history..then more or less shrugged her shoulders, said "sometimes this just happens and we don't know why" but that she could prescribe me birth control or we could wait it out, also since I'm not trying to get pregnant "right now," a fertility specialist will ask me "why are you here?" I explained I would want to be proactive about fertility, not wait until I'm actively trying to address a clear issue. I questioned that birth control does not give you natural cycles which she agreed with... so how would that solve my issue of not naturally having a period? No testing was suggested, no hypothesis of her own as to what could be happening, what I should do, nothing helpful or even remotely empathetic. I asked for a blood test to be done, which she complied with, which I received no call back for almost 2 weeks on the results. Then after I called again, she told me everything seemed normal. I asked her what should the next step be, the fertility specialist? She asked me a few follow up questions like "you said you're married right? Oh not yet -right, but you're trying to conceive? Not right now, oh okay..." then said it was up to me, or yet again, try birth control. Maybe she had someone else's chart in front of her or simply wasn't paying attention when I told her my story. I know it may seem foolish of me to go back after all this, but being new to the area, I didn't have time to start all over again with telling my story, waiting for an open appointment a month away, etc. But then I had felt a lump in my breast. Anxious, I went to her and she got me in promptly that same day. First, she said she didn't feel anything until I physically put her finger on the lump, then asked me if I had cut myself shaving my underarm because that can cause my lymph node to swell. She said she wasn't alarmed, keep an eye on it and come back if it doesn't go away. I waited a couple more weeks, developed some concerning discoloration near the lump that felt "off" texturally. I went back to her, she said the discoloration was probably dry skin and gave me a script for a breast ultrasound that didn't have all the requested information the radiology facility asked me for. She told me to let them know my age so they don't give me a mammogram (in my head, I'm thinking why wouldn't I want one if it'll tell me the overall health of my breasts) so I asked her "why would someone my age not want one?" She looked at me blankly and said "I don't know, excess radiation?" Yes, I later found out you usually start mammograms around age 40, but a true professional would have explained that politely since it was evident I didn't know. I grabbed the script and left. Shameful bedside manner. I felt she expressed no sense of compassion. I did not feel heard or taken seriously. Hopefully, my experience is not the norm but being that it was not just one time... I am doubtful.

I figured this one was closest to my home in Staten Island and made an appointment. Everything was pretty good until the appointment date. I walked in and no one was at the front desk. Literally stood there for 10 minutes after saying "Hello, hello hello?" and a doctor came out and told me, "She must have stepped away". Then I waited another 15 to be seen. OY! But it's a doctor's office. Who's really surprised by the wait at any doctor's office?!? During that time I noticed that the office was severely outdated and a little bit dirty. 1970's explosion. They don't do email. Only Fax. Who does fax in today's world? The older lady is indifferent to the clients and slightly rude. Hello, we bring you business and our insurance pays you to STAY IN BUSINESS. But I didn't say anything because I told myself this is NY and my only care was that they knew what they were doing. I met with Dr. Quyyumi. While I was there, he was nice, Looked at my records, prescribed my medication and I was out of there. Easy enough. The first appointment I didn't feel like he asked me enough questions. Did not look at my hands or feet. Nada. But I always give people the benefit of the doubt. Even though for a doctor's office first impressions should be key. But after that, it just went downhill from there. After a month I tried to renew one of my medications. Couldn't do it. Apparently, I had to call the office MONTHLY to discuss the new medication I was taking. Just to see how I was tolerating it. I understood. But.......... THEY NEVER EVER EVER answer their phone. And I mean NEVER! The first time I asked for a renewal of my medicine I had to leave two separate messages before someone called me back. This time I've left 4 messages and no one has returned my call. So I'm left without my medication and I was supposed to take an injection this past weekend. This is completely irresponsible to your patients. What if this was a life-saving medication? Wait. I'm diabetic. It kind of is! Now I'm looking for a new doctor.

Though it can be a bit hard to get a person on the phone line (a robot answers) their office responds well to messages left. Even if they don't leave a reply on your phone or call back if it's not necessary your concern will be addressed promptly. The office is open and clean, and wait times are relatively good and seemed to improve recently with staff additions.

She is the only doctor that has been able to get me off if not all, most of my diabetic medications. She also helps with keeping my thyroid medication at the correct dosage with blood work that I have to get every 3 months. I would refer family and friends to Dr. Chen, that is how much I trust her with my health.

I was referred to Dr. Pamela Stimler by my endocrinologist…read more Her Brooklyn office is in Bay Ridge. I found a pleasant office. The waiting room was comfortable, with nice music. I wasn't there long before I was taken into an exam room for my vitals and EKG to be taken. Dr. Stimler came in and we talked and she examined me. She told me her approach is preventative. Music to my ears. We went to her office and talked strategies. We set up some non-invasive diagnostic tests. I feel like this one is a keeper since she's got a working knowledge of supplements and other alternative treatments. My father was a doctor and medical researcher and I've gone holistic and don't want any pharmaceuticals if they're not warranted. I fully recommend Dr. Stimler.

They were incredibly unprofessional, and their follow up phone calls are incoherent. I do not recommend this office for a person under 75.
