This is a terrible service. Do not waste your money. They bought out a two-person operation in our neighborhood, Lonetree composting, and things have steadily gone downhill. The problem is missed pick-ups and miscommunications. An example, our normal pick-up day is Thursday; this year the day after the Christmas holiday. So no pick-up on the day after Christmas; okay, I can live with that. But no pick-up on January 2nd? And they had sent out an email saying that there would be a pickup. Now, I have garbage piling up at my house that I easily could have sent off with my trash hauler if I had known they weren't picking up. But they still charged me for 'zero' pickups over the holiday period. Another thing, their 30 lb 'finished compost' dividend. Don't believe it. Lonetree compost gave me beautiful rich compost that I used to enrich my vegetable garden. Compost Colorado gave me something that I didn't want to use anywhere. I gave it back to them. It was not compost. If I had to guess, I would say it was cement dust mixed with wood chips. It would not even wet when mixed with water. I didn't dare use this on any garden on my property for fear of what might be in it. read more

Missed service last week so I filled out a missed service form. No response to two other attempts to reach someone. Very unprofessional not to have set up a voice mail for customer communication. Zero customer concern or service when you need assistance. I'm cancelling my service today. There are local drop offs near me that I can use for $0 and a lot less headache! ***Update*** I am changing my 1 star rating to 3 because Compost Colorado's operations guy contacted me and arranged for a driver to pick up my compost that day. Stay away. Not worth stealing your money. Since Compost Colorado is expanding their service area the quality of service as gotten worse and worse. 1. Still impossible to get a hold of anyone. Customer service is non existent. Phone and email do not work. 2. Instead of swapping out a new, clean bucket they just dump your bucket into their collection bucket, and they do not wipe it down or even attempt to clean it out and get all the remaining food scraps. Be prepared for a build up of mold and left over food scraps. It happens weekly. 3. We do not have a curb, live directly across from school, on busy street and therefore leave our bucket on our porch so that parents will not hit the bucket when picking up or dropping off kids. CoCo leaves the black bucket in the street, at night where other cars can hit. They left it behind our car once, which we did not see and proceeded to hit. Our porch is only a few steps away from the street, it honestly isn't that big of an ask. If anything leave it on the grass! read more

Started out great, but then we needed to talk with someone and that's where we fell into the void of silence. Don't expect to be able to talk with a person or have someone return your numerous calls and emails if you have any issues. Leaving for a new composting company who has so far been incredibly responsive (and a better deal). Wanted to like this service but it's just become a frustration. read more

We joined Coco, not by choice, but because our prior compost service (Lone Tree Composting) was bought out by Coco. We were perfectly happy with Lone Tree, but Coco has been nothing but a headache. Their service is undependable and you CANNOT get a hold of customer service if there's an issue. I have called them multiple times, sent emails and filled out online forms, all with no response. There is, literally, ZERO way to get a hold of a human to help. The only reason I've stayed with them thus far is because there are no other compost services available where I live. read more

We have been subscribed for a year and as of June 2022 our compost has not been picked up and we have not been able to contact a single person in this organization or cancel online. When we call the line goes to voicemail and when we email help@compost-colorado.com we receive an automated reply with no follow up. WTF guys. read more
