Excellent to da max. I just received the hydro facial treatment for the 1st time but it won't be my last! I'm not one to go to beauty care places but this is the second trip to this establishment. The first was for facial treatment only. I was not familiar with the hydro facial treatment but, I will be after today's visit. I now know the difference between a facial treatment which is very relaxing. However the hydro facial treatment cleans out the deeper pores of the skin by using heat, light scrubbing, and some form of a bright light in the process treatment. Janika was superb! I have always wanted to try lip fillers and my experience here was amazing! I wanted a little volume, but mostly I wanted to smooth out my upper lip and make everything really symmetrical. Thomas P Young, PhD, NP and Lia Miller, Esthetician did such an amazing job with my lip fillers! It was a bit painful, but there is anesthesia in the injections, so the pain starts to become easier to handle as the procedure continues. Immediately following the procedure, my lips were a bit bumpy, swollen, and bruised. You can see results right away! I went home and applied arnica gel topically to the lips as well as took arnica supplements to help with the bruising. I iced my lips each morning and evening for about 15-30 minutes and this really helped with the healing process. Massaging the lips is also really helpful. You can't wear makeup during the healing process, but Aquaphor can be used for any dryness. After about one week, bruising and swelling had gone away entirely and I love my new lips! After going to brow bar at Macy's, the wax company at mccully shopping, and countless other salons around the island, I have finally found the ONE ! I called that day after searching on yelp to find yet another place to find someone who can actually do eyebrows. I spoke with Lia who is very pleasant, helpful, and warm. She got me in the same day ! Upon my arrival I am greeted with friendly smiles who already call me by name. It's a very professional and clean office. I was promptly put into a room with a comfy recliner and offered a blanket. By the time Lia came in, I was snuggled like a bug. But my wonderful experience didn't end there. I got to witness an artist at work. Lia has a very delicate touch and she works with a masterful hand. She really listens to what you want too. She performed a mix of waxing and tweezing while she told me tips on skin and using natural products to kill bacteria on my skin. I love this place! I've had several Brazilian waxes, eyebrow waxes and a couple of facials. Mary is amazing with wax. I have never left disappointed or in pain. Everyone is very professional and extremely friendly in that only-in-Hawaii way. The offer some of the best skin care products on the market, from Dermalogica to Jan Marini (a personal favorite) to Dr. Grandel. The prices are VERY reasonable compared to some of the bigger salons on the island, but without sacrificing quality. It's a smaller salon, so they only have one room, which means pre-booking is very important. Compared to other big name salons, there is less of that spa-ambiance, which is why I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5. read more

I don't like to write reviews. I only do so when the place has either really impressed me (or as in this case) severely disappointed me. All I really want to say is DONT BE LATE, and if you are, DONT GO. Was hoping to get a deep bikini wax, when I asked I received a look that read "WTF?" meh.. ookay.. maybe I'm just a idiot and thats not a real thing.. The wax was a little scorching, but the job was quick and painless. But the end result was lopsided, and obviously a rushed job. (had baby powder everywhere yet felt sticky afterwards) also The whole reason I got a bikini wax was so hair wouldn't stick out of my bathing suit, now I will be attempting to fix the job myself at home. Now please understand, I was late. I'm sure she was in a hurry so she could get done before her next appointment (although there was no one waiting when I left.) But I must say I didn't leave feeling confident and satisfied, instead I left feeling 50$ lighter and ashamed/embarrassed. Therefore the two star (meh i've experienced better) rating. read more

Dale did a fantastic job, she was really friendly and made me feel comfortable, as if I'd known her for years, and took her time to make sure she did it right - experienced. It was my second time getting a Brazilian and she was really gentle. Almost PAIN FREE compared to the other girl who did my first one ouchh! So I won't need a shot of whiskey next time before I go ha. A lot of good advice about skin care but not pushy to buy products which was nice, not just after your money. Everyone knows getting waxed isn't the most pleasant experience. With that being said, it's hard to find a place that will make you comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation. I've been to a few other places on the island, many with high yelp reviews, but never really stuck because I never felt at ease, or I found that the esthetician's technique wasn't for me. I've been here at least 4 times now, and I don't plan to leave! Janika is the absolute best! She knows that getting Brazilians aren't very fun, and she says she feels like a "German Helga torturing people." But I assure you, she is thorough, gentle, and the only tears I shed here are from her and I laughing so hard at the conversations we have during my appointment! I also have sensitive skin and am prone to ingrown hairs, but I've never had an issue here. I felt completely at ease, and I'd highly recommend them to someone who is nervous about getting waxed. They also have a loyalty membership that costs $25 annually, that gives you 10% all visits and products, so it's definitely worth it if you find you enjoy their services! I've also had an acne facial done once here, and Lia did a fantastic job! Clearly, all the ladies here are incredibly skilled! Seriously though, 5/5 best "torture" ever, will wax again! I finally found a place that ignited my very first pleasant yelp review. Complexions Skin Care is definitely a hidden gem. The only reason I discovered it was because I happened to be coming back from a friend's place that was in that area. So the ambiance is very clean and organized but it does not have the usual spa like feel like the waxing co. So if that matters to you might want to consider that piece of information. But if your looking for high quality. Knowledgable and curtious services that is what I recieved from my esthitician, Lia. She was so curtious because she adjusted her schedule so that I could have a late appointment so don't let the hours of operation be a factor of not giving this place a try, they will be more than happy to accommodate the time to your schedule. She was also very patient and considerate of my sensitive red skin.She put so much time into making sure my eyebrows came out just the way I wanted it while keeping my skin soothed. I have been seeing the owner Mary many years for facial waxing services....long before she was at this location. She is FANTASTIC and makes my eyebrows look amazing! As Mary has started to reduce her hours (good for her!!!!) I have seen Lia as well who is also amazing! I spoke with Mary during my last waxing and inquired about a Brazilian which I have been wanting to do for years. I got brave and schduled an appointment. I saw Dale for this service and I was COMPLETELY anxious about it. It was my first and despite the ULTIMATELY PERSONAL nature of this service, Dale and I laughed and talked and before I knew it (and through SEVERAL moments of asking myself, WHY AM I DOING THIS??), this almost painless procedure was over. Dale "help my hand" so to speak through the whole experience. I had a lot of questions about careof the area after the fact and she was knowledgeable, helpful, encouraging and definately wanted me to have a great "after" experience.
