He explained that the pop-up drain was doing what it was designed to do, but the excess water had found an easier path underground, which also explained a soft depression nearby (this was causing a lot of soil erosion on my neighbor's property). He then spent a great deal of time walking me through the remedy: where to dig, how deep and wide to make the area, how to use gravel and plants, and how to install deeper edging so the water would disperse properly instead of gushing toward my neighbor's property. His reply was, "Normally, that would be around $200 labor". He said he could have someone come over same morning. I agreed on the price and timing. Plumber and assistant arrive and begin working, 45 minutes into job Jerry texts me to clarify that it is $200 per hour. So, 45 minutes in I get hit with a bait and switch. Mid job I understand I am screwed. Turned out some valves and supply lines would need to be replaced. Home Depot price on these is $6.45 and $12.98. I got hit with a bill charging 35 and 45 respectively. $470 for parts that cost $110.06 and $537 for labor that was quoted at $200. After letting them know that I would be providing accurate reviews and supplying the information to the BBB, plumber came back with a $170 discount bringing the margin on parts down from 77% to 63%. Basically from obscene to slightly less obscene. Flo Right operation runs off bait and switch with margin on parts that is basically theft. My fault for not inquiring on the cost of parts. He was going to leave the sewage dripping under my house without telling me, it was lucky I was watching. A few days later I ran the garbage disposal and a toilet in a different bathroom overflowed with sewage all over the floor and the bathtub and kitchen sink all filled and clogged with dirty sewage water. I called and asked the owner to send someone out and fix it, at least get it back to where it was before they came out. He said it was a coincidence and didn't have anything to do with what they did. I said it's not a coincidence,I've lived here 16 years and this never happened and suddenly it happens 2 days after you come out? No chance. I ask for the lead tech and he refuses saying the guy who came out will be familiar with the situation. So the same guy comes out and does the same damn thing- drains it not fixing anything, because apparently this time it will magically work. He tells me as he's leaving I can wait a few days and adjust the pipes under once all the sewage under my house drains again because he looked at them and that should work.You know, the thing I actually hired a plumber for. He also tells me they did cause it pushing the clog farther in without fixing it.
