I found loose bolts on critical parts and they wouldn't even own up to the mistakes and make it right. The owner agrees to compensate me for the parts that I had to purchase. Nearly $3,000 bought us failed brakes, unauthorized work, and a gag agreement. When we refused to…read morebe silenced, My Auto Works told us to call the police in order to get our truck back. I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience with My Auto Works was too concerning not to share. This place is dishonest, untrustworthy, and will try to force your silence when their work has been challenged. They lack in communication and are extremely overpriced (as a plethora of reviews below confirm). A more detailed account of our situation is included below with an attachment of the agreement they tried to force us to sign to stay quiet: We originally paid approximately almost $3,000 for brake repairs. When the truck developed brake problems again while that repair was still under warranty, we expected the issue to be addressed. Instead, we were quoted another $2,300 for what they claimed were entirely new problems, with little explanation as to why the original repair had failed. We paid their diagnostic fee and sought a second opinion. Then a third. Both independent shops concluded the issue appeared to be the same warranty-covered repair, not the new repair My Auto Works was recommending. After asking us to bring the truck back so they could "make it right," the communication was terrible. We constantly had to call for updates, despite repeated promises that they would do better. The biggest issue was that they performed work we never authorized. We had made it clear we were waiting on pricing before deciding how to proceed, yet after days without any communication, we called and were told the work had already been done and the cost was even higher than the original quote. We never approved this work. When we declined the additional repair and asked for our truck back, they initially tried to charge us another diagnostic fee. After reviewing their own recorded phone calls, they admitted we had never been told that fee would apply and agreed to waive it. Then came the most unbelievable part. When my husband went to pick up our truck, he was handed a "Mutual Release and Non-Disparagement Agreement." They wanted us to agree not to post reviews, discuss our experience publicly, or have anyone else do so before they would release our vehicle. We refused because we believe customers have every right to truthfully share their experiences. They initially refused to give us our truck back unless we signed and told us we needed to call law enforcement to make that happen. Only after another employee admitted, "Roland f***ed up. He was supposed to have you sign the non-disparagement agreement first, but you signed your invoice first. So you're getting the truck back. Take the win and leave," were we allowed to leave with our vehicle. Mistakes happen in the automotive industry. What matters is honesty, communication, and accountability. Unfortunately, our experience was marked by poor communication, conflicting diagnoses, work performed without our authorization, and an attempt to condition the return of our truck on signing away our right to speak about what happened. Poor communication, unauthorized work, conflicting diagnoses, and an attempt to prevent us from sharing our honest experience is not how customers should be treated. Based on our experience, we will never return. Head to "My Mechanic" for honest and reasonably priced work.

He never addressed my issue and I had to go to another Auto Repair as they quickly identified the problem and took care of it. The new Mechanic admitted that this owner from Camas Washougal exhaust Automotive scammed me. Shame on them. I trusted this Jamie character owner because he had Christian paraphernalia all over his office, and he claimed to be this God-fearing man. But the truth is he lied to me and scammed me. He suggested I bring cash in, without any conscience. Knowing, that as I drove off, my van was still suffering from the same issues . The repairs he did were absolutely unnecessary. And he led me to believe that he was resolving the problem, addressing my issue with the car. this owner was uncaring, unprofessional, and I didn't have the bandwidth to battle with him. So I went to another mechanic. But I lost $1200 This happened in January 2026. I warn everyone not to use his services. He and his wife should've immediately said we can't repair your car but here's what we can do. Instead, they took advantage of me as a single working woman, they lied to me and charged me the $1200 ....for nothing! I was unaware until I actually drove off and realized my car still had the same trouble and what he repaired was unnecessary. $1200 cash is a lot of money. Shame on them. Go to Trutech in Vancouver, they are honest and skilled. Also, this guys work on my car does not show up on the Carfax report. all my other repairs since I bought the car new 10 years ago are all on my report except for his. So obviously, he didn't want to claim his dishonesty or have record of it. Don't go to washougal Camas exhaust and Automotive.

I went off the yelp reviews and this is my 1st visit to any shop in this area…read more It's a small, old building, has a small waiting room with a huge TV you can watch, small nice bathroom you can sneak into. Idk if this is a regular thing but they had 4 huge German Shepherd dogs roaming around pretty openly, along with a cat. I came in right at 9am for an alignment. They were cleaning the insider pretty extensively, so they do pick up after their pet and pet hairs. Stuck around and waited for the car, had another customer that kept coming in waiting for his vehicle. The owner was complaining about the new guy who was installing a door switch, "3 hours into a 1 hour job" yet my alignment took all day, it was 3pmish by the time I got my car back but the alignment issue was fixed. I was brought back and shown the stuff found wrong on vehicle, during the process, so I understood why it took a while. Idk if this is how it's done here but they did not use a machine to do the alignment, I saw posts with strings running along the side of the tires, being used as a guide to align them. Grant it, my car has oversized tires so alignments have to be exact or my tires rub. But I've had my car aligned using an alignment machine before, even with the over sized tires. I got charged $350 for an alignment because of the man hours, and was given a discount and charged only a portion of the hours. Though I am happy with the work, the pricing was just a tad too high. I get it though, the guy is very knowledgeable and knows his stuff, but they charge work by the man hour, estimated. It's $100 an hour. For example, I have a oil leak in my car and he found it and estimated $430 to fix because it'd be "half a manhour to disconnect this" and "another hour to do this" so it added up when it honestly doesn't take that long to do certain things they claim take half an hour. They do good work, the guy seems to know his stuff, very friendly, talked about an hour to me, the entire time I was waiting on my car, not sure if that was included in the "man hours he didn't charge me for" or whatever. Got an estimate somewhere else with more work to be done, for $270 when I got quoted $430 for 1 thing here. Wish I could afford their pricing system but I can't right now, time will tell if I made the right choice by going somewhere else but I feel bad because they seemed like good, honest people. Just out of my price range at the moment. They quoted me a cheaper price on parts here, than the other place, but with them charging $100 a man hour and other place charging $50, it adds up.

I told the mechanic several time to please repair my radiator, first it took the guy two extra weeks to even look at my car, second he went behind my back and just poured water into my car instead of coolant. He stated "I think you were just low of fluids" (mind you, that water leaked out within 5 minutes of him telling me that), after that I went back to him and he quoted me a reasonable price to actually fix my radiator, I again waited too long to get a response about my car just for the guy to ONCE AGAIN not do what I asked but instead replaced my radiator cap and said that was the problem. THAT SAME NIGHT!! My car breaks down in the middle of the freeway and when I called his "office" his daughter picked up, I told her the whole spill, she then says "I'll let him know, he's in the shop". Doesn't call me back at all. If I could give this place zero out of zero, I'd rate -100. Repair: Differential Gear Shaft Replacement Repair entails: disconnecting brake lines, reconnecting, and bleeding them Cost: $5,335.00 Summary: 3 repair visits and 24 hours out of state emergency brake failure repair Repair 1 p/u date April 14th - failed at 70 miles an hour in Oregon on my way to San Diego, Ca, by the time I got back to Vancouver, WA it was worse than when I first brought in for the repair. Repair 2 p/u date June 4th - failed at 25 miles almost immediately June 9th went into the shop One Last Chance and I Demanded Toyota OEM parts since I learned I paid too much for none OEM parts and they were trying to pressurize the pinion gear themselves, the reason for the immediate failures. Also, stated if this replacement failed, I'd expect all my money back. Repair 3 date July 9th - my brakes lost pressure in early Sunday morning of July 12th on my way to San Diego, Ca. failed in Bakersfield, California at about 8:30 am after driving all night. Paid $395.91 for a 24-hour emergency mechanic to bleed my brakes. Brake Failure Cause: bubbles / air in the rear brake line. Why didn't it fail sooner - low traffic cool night driving, used cruise and to keep myself alert slowing through curves by shutting off cruise and accelerated then restarted cruise while driving through the Oregon and California mountains. What happens when bubbles / air gets in the brake lines: brake fluid heats up and the air expands causing no pressure to your brakes and the pedal goes to the floor.
