Craig was the best choice we could have made in regards to our inspection. He made sure he did not miss one detail, and explained every step of the process with us. He even mentioned what issues may come up in the future, giving us an idea of what future updates we may need to make to our budget. He did not miss one part of the house. He made it into areas where I thought it would not be able to get into. I would recommend Craig to my family and friends. Great job! read more

Complete Home Inspection - Home Inspectors Near Me - Leonia, New Jersey

Craig Lynch is the best home inspector a buyer could ask for. He was incredibly thorough, inspecting crawl spaces, the attic, the roof, appliances, and everything else (and many things most others would forget about). During the inspection, he pointed out issues with an AC handler tucked up in the furthest reaches of the attic which were caused by a missing water sensor - something I believe most inspectors would miss. Beyond just noticing lots of small details, Craig gave advice on home maintenance, down to things such as proper water heater temps, how to take care of appliances, etc. He was on time for the appointment and took meticulous notes which were detailed enough for us to argue for a number of repairs to be made (and which the sellers were kind enough to pay for). I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to buy a home in NJ. read more

Craig is THE BEST! I was truly impressed by how thorough his inspection was. He checks everything you can imagine--roof, windows, oven, retractable awning, fans, and more. Despite how comprehensive his inspection is, he goes out of his way to help you save money by cutting out unnecessary tests. He even offers tips on how to reduce your utility bills as much as possible! If you're looking to buy a property and want to save both time and money, Craig is the one to call--100%! read more

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARTS I WOULD! This home inspector is nothing but a fear monger. His "report" is full of catch all's such as "this could happen" or "if may be a problem at some point, but we don't know". Worse so is that he misdiagnosed so called "issues". For example, he wrote in his report that there was a buzzing coming from the electrical panel. Upon further inspection, it was a vibration that happen when the central air conditioner turned on. I would think that a "seasoned" inspector such as Mr. Lynch would know the difference. If you are buying a house i would steer clear of hiring Mr. Lynch. In my opinion he throws everything at the wall seeing what will stick in the hopes that the Buyer calls off the deal and he gets paid to come back and inspect the property an additional time. I have dealt with home inspectors and never came across one as awful as Mr. Lynch. Home buying and selling is an exciting but stressful time. Hiring Mr. Lynch will only lead to additional stress and anxiety. read more

Craig is very thorough and trustworthy. I would recommend him to anyone purchasing a home.

Had the pleasure to work with Craig today and wow! What an amazing person to work with. Craig walked my fiancé and I through our future home and truly examined every inch of it. It was noted that Craig not only was super knowledgeable but also loved his job. We spent just about 3 hours looking at everything and felt assured that our house was a great pick. Not only does Craig point out things that should be fixed but also gives recommendations of companies or materials to use to complete the job. Very thankful for our friend who recommended Craig to us! We surely will be sharing his name and number with our friends and family who are house hunting! read more

My brother, who famously hates everything, referred me to Craig after he had a very positive experience with him. But even without my brother's referral, I knew Craig was the right choice from the moment I heard his answering machine message: he doesn't pick up the phone while he's on an inspection, and I think that says a lot. He was extremely thorough and not at all condescending toward me despite my complete ignorance of all things house-related. He answered all my questions and even gave me some great recommendations for contractors and such. I could not recommend Craig more. If you're in NJ and need a house inspected, just use him. read more

I have used Craig twice now for home inspection services. He is exceedingly thorough and takes the time necessary to ensure that the home you are looking at is everything you expected. His reports are extremely well done. He takes more time than others because he is meticulous in his work. You will absolutely be grateful hiring him for your home inspection. He goes above and beyond! read more

Complete Home Inspection - Craig comes fully prepared! - Home Inspectors Near Me - Leonia, New Jersey

We used Craig for our complete home inspection on our very first home. Being a first time home buyer meant a lot was new to us and we wanted someone thorough. Craig was professional, thorough and early to the appointment. He explained everything to us and wasn't bothered in the slightest as we asked questions. The report helped us address and issues found with the sellers and helped us come to a great mutual agreement. Craig was referred to us by a friend and I would refer him to any of mine. If you want someone that will put your mind at ease, Craig is your home inspector. read more

I was introduced to Craig as a referral from a friend of mine in the city who also worked with Craig on the purchase of his home in Bergen County, NJ. I am buying a home up in Rockland County and was very glad we worked with Craig. Craig was VERY thorough in his inspection, going above and beyond checking things that weren't event part of a standard home inspection (like the chimney, different gas lines and things around the house like our retaining wall). Craig also checked every single window, every single power outlet and answer EVERY SINGLE question we had. If you're looking for someone to do a thorough job and don't mind the time and patience it takes to get through a thorough review, I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND Craig. He is great to work with, very very easy to communicate with and will answer any of your questions with patience. read more

Craig is very thorough and extremely knowledgeable about inspecting homes. I found him through a friend who referred him to me and I used him to inspect a home that I was ready to purchase. Craig is very professional and he takes his job seriously. He doesn't take short cuts and he goes out of his way to make sure he has reviewed things in greater detail than most inspectors. While most inspectors would take an hour or so to inspect a home, an inspection done by Craig will take a solid 4 hours. Craig is quite honest and straightforward and is a great person to have on your side if you are a potential home buyer. He helped raise issues for my potential home purchase and gave some solid advice on issues that really helped me as a new buyer. You will not be disappointed if you hire Craig. read more

This guy (Craig Lynch) has inspected my last two house purchases, and numerous family members of mine. He gave a thorough inspection, getting up on the roof, looking in the chimney, and climbing into crawl spaces and attic areas. No home inspectors do that anymore, and that is where all the problems are. He recommended that we get an additional sewer line inspection because of potential issues he saw. That saved us thousands of dollars in future repairs. He found mold that would have given my wife some serious health issues. That information helped us negotiate a deduction in the house price to pay for those repairs that might have been missed by other less experienced home inspectors. He took his time and explained to me and my wife the issues. I felt totally comfortable with him doing my inspection and trust his years and years of knowledge. After all, he is the teacher at the school where most of the other inspectors get their training. read more

Craig was highly recommended from a friend and I can see why. He was extremely thorough throughout the process and was very kind to explain everything to us in detail. I came out of our home inspection with not only greater knowledge of our own house but houses in general. He also gave us advice on how to upkeep certain things in our house. As a first time home owner, we were very appreciative of the time he spent with us. read more

I rarely give anyone 5 stars unless I am completely pleased with the work they provide. Craig is a great person, very friendly and easy to deal with, he gave us great tips on how to fix a few items in the house that needed attention. He very patiently answered all of our questions and concerns, he was also available and was very responsive after the inspection for questions. We got our Inspection report in less than 2 days, I reviewed it right away and did not find any discrepancies with what was discussed during the inspection. I would recommend him to anyone at any time, you will definitely not be disappointed. He was highly recommended to me by two colleagues from work and he also deals with people at my husband's job, he has been doing this for over 20 years and its not hard to see that he knows his job well, he will inspect every inch of that house and tell you everything that is/might be wrong with it. read more

Here's why I went with Craig and you should too: Craig will tell you he does not advertise. Does not have a website. He relies on word of mouth and reviews on sites like Yelp. To that end, I found him through a Bergen County FB group where he was mentioned repeatedly and with 100% positive reviews. 100%. He's also very thorough---4 hours vs customary 2, which I knew going in. My thought was he was writing the owner's manual to my house. :-) He answered all my questions before, during and after the inspection. When you ask around about inspectors, generally you will hear "they all suck." That's b/c for many of them, a bulk of their business comes from brokers-- who, whether they represent the buyer or seller, want fewer problems found rather than more b/c that can screw up the deal, right? And so you have a fun little collusion game between the brokers and the inspectors. After all, who gives the brokers more biz-- one happy homebuyer who buys a home once every 20 years...or the neighborhood broker who does a dozen deals a year? Who do you want to keep most happy? Hmmmmm..... So you have two choices in my opinion when hiring an inspector: 1) Look around for anyone who says the broker recommended them and they found problems after closing. Eliminate them immediately -- NO MATTER HOW MANY OTHER GOOD REVIEWS THERE ARE. These people know where their "bread is buttered" and will sweep through quickly and do NOT have your interests at heart. It's possible it was an oversight but don't bet on it and don't say I didn't warn you. (On the flip side, it's a plus if you can find brokers who complained that the inspector messed up their deal. Unfortunate and maybe even unnecessary-- but it shows they aren't aligned with the broker.) Also err on the side of more diligent rather than less. Some of these shops are factories and even if they have good intentions, don't have much time to give to each house. You want someone who is looking at the things that aren't "material" to the deal but good to know as a future owner of the house. 2) Save yourself a lot of time and just hire Craig. Or read the other reviews and tell me I'm wrong. (Go ahead. I'll wait. :-)) P.S. My broker knew Craig, knews he's "extremely good at what he does. Very thorough. But he takes a long time lol." He also hadn't recommended him. :-) read more

I cannot say enough good things about Craig, his professionalism and experience. He was recommended on a Facebook mom page and later by a friend of my mom's that's a municipal inspector. from the phone call down to the inspection, Craig showed how knowledgeable he is and explained every step in great detail. The inspection report was received Monday afternoon, after a Saturday inspection. The report itself was very detailed, and included pictures. Craig also does radon testing and isn't afraid to get dirty, climbing the roof and go through crawl space. I would absolutely recommend Craig to anyone. read more

Complete Home Inspection - Craig inputting information at a home inspection - Home Inspectors Near Me - Leonia, New Jersey

Tough to add any more that hasnt already been said in prior reviews. My father uses Craig for both his commercial and residential inspections, and today I had the opportunity to use him for my own home inspection. I spent the entire 3.5 hours with him, soaking in the details of his work and every single possible concern or problem he could identify. He is a very pleasant guy, and will take the time to not only perform his inspection, but go above and beyond the standards you'd expect, and provide you with tips and thoughts about how to care for certain parts of the home, based on what he sees. Craig is the best of the best. You can rest easy knowing he has inspected your future home. Receives my upmost recommendation! read more

Complete Home Inspection - Craig squeezing into the crawlspace attic to inspect the ductwork, insulation, and ventilation. - Home Inspectors Near Me - Leonia, New Jersey

I rarely write reviews but this one is well so deserved. Craig Lynch of Complete Home Inspection Inc was an absolute pleasure to work with. I am in the process of buying a new home and Craig came recommended to me. Now i can see why. I was able to schedule me for an appointment quickly. His inspection was thorough. He took his time and went through every piece of the house. He used photos and video footage to document his findings. And images were provided in the report which he was able to turn around in 24 hrs. I cant say enough good things. I was recommended to Craig Lynch by a friend of mine who had him inspect their house. This is the 3rd property I have bought, and I have never worked with a more thorough home inspector. Craig was incredibly knowledgeable and explained things to me throughout the inspection in terms I was able to understand. His turnaround time on the 34-page inspection report was 24 hours and the report is very detailed, yet easy to follow with specific action steps. I would highly recommend Craig to anyone looking for a home inspector and should we purchase another home in the future I would not hesitate to use him again. read more

When my former home inspector stopped doing residential inspections, he referred me to Craig. He said I was in the most capable hands & he couldnt have been more accurate. I made an introductory call to Craig, explained my situation, my concerns as I was home shopping, etc. Craig spent 45min on the phone with me explaining the inspection process, the items I should be most concerned about, when to walk away, what I could live with despite any initial hesitation. My next call to Craig was in a panic as I had just put an offer in on a home whose roof looked okay to my eyes, but the attic beams showed cause for concern. I took photos, texted them to Craig, overexplained my anxieties and he called me immediately. Again, he spent an hour on the phone with me, telling me why my concerns were valid and he patiently and carefully walked me away from that home & I later rescinded my offer. Craig truly cares for each client as if they were a member of his family. He understands each client's unique concerns, the bones, mechanics, environmental issues, age and different construction aspects of condos, townhomes & freestanding homes. He knows the housing the market & the power of the inspection during a crazy one. His inspections are methodical, his reports are in-depth, informative and he includes great photos to prove it. He takes time with the buyer while on-site so they understand his findings, what they are up against & where there money will likely go after a certain amount of time. Craig is the only home inspector I trust, would use and refer a loved one to. Thank you, Craig, for your expertise and care! You really are the best! read more

I was referred to Complete Home by a friend the moment she heard we were buying our first home. The best way I can describe it is "piece of mind". Craig absolutely gave me, as a first time home buyer, that piece of mind that we aren't walking into a mine-field. Of note, one of the things that made me most confident in Craig's assessment was when he shared where I needed a secondary/deeper review i.e. a Level 2 fire inspection because he wasn't able to do a complete inspection due to the configuration. I would recommend Craig to *anyone* - from my best friend to a complete stranger...no questions asked. read more

As first time homebuyers, we had no clue what to look for when inspecting a home, luckily we found Craig. He was very through on the inspection of our new home. Not only did he point out the problems, he also taught us easy fixes and how to address issues if it ever arises in the future. I almost felt like I was there for a "how to own a house" course but then again since he teaches home inspection on the side, I'm not surprised but ecstatic to get one of his lessons. He was quick on turning around our report as the sellers were pushing closing. We pretty much got the report in the next few days and the asbestos one later that week since it takes time to get the results . Craig is a very nice guy and great to work with. He charges a reasonable rate and was easy to get in touch with. He responds back quickly to emails and our phone calls which is a plus for me since I was dealing with a million phone calls before the actual closing process. I highly recommend Craig to anyone looking for a home inspector. read more

My sister recommended him to inspect a short sale I was purchasing. It was a condo in fort lee and he did such a thorough inspection of the property and showed me exactly what was wrong and gave me many pointers on how to maintain appliances like the heaters, about valves and switches. For a new homeowner, Craig is perfect because he explains everything to the buyer. I didn't end up buying the short sale but used him again recently for condo I'm in process of buying. Even the seller that was present was impressed with him and got his card for their new home purchase. He has integrity, honesty and good work ethic. You will definitely be satisfied and get your money's worth. read more

Craig Lynch is the consummate professional. In fact, my husband used his services over a decade ago and insisted Craig was the first name I call after attorney review on our next home. He is thorough, thorough, thorough, and he includes aspects in his home inspection that far exceed the state's requirements. For example, Craig checked every single window, climbed up onto our roof to inspect it, and sent material from the home out for asbestos testing. Craig's reports are easy to follow, even as a person who knows almost nothing about home construction (like me!) and include labeled photos as evidence of nearly all evaluations he makes. The lengthy and detailed report was emailed to us two mornings after our inspection, which was really helpful. I've spoken to him on the phone a few times since the process began and he is always helpful with my questions. Even my realtor, who sees inspections done weekly, was highly impressed with Craig. She said she'd be recommending him from now on! If you'd like a stress-free inspection process, call Craig Lynch. You'll be in great hands! read more

I'm glad that I found Craig. He was very thorough and explained things as he went along. I was purchasing a 1940's home. He spent about 4 hours. I got a 40 page report including a summary of major defects in the beginning and then it breaks out into each category (AC, Electrical, Plumbing...) with pictures. This made it easy to focus on the major vs. normal issues. I would agree with all the other 5star reviewers. I'd recommend Craig for all first time home buyers. read more

I found Craig on yelp and was not disappointed. He did an excellent job on our home inspection. Similar to the other reviews, he spent a long time on our condo inspection and was very detailed. We just had a great home inspection experience with Craig Lynch. We are first time home-buyers of a condo in Hoboken. We originally called another home inspector, Chris Burrows, after seeing his positive yelp review. Chris was very thorough on the phone but did not have availability-- luckily he referred us to Craig, who was able to see us for an inspection over the weekend on short notice. Craig also teaches home inspection courses in addition to being an inspector, and he clearly knew his stuff. He had great attention to detail and really took the time to test every thing (beyond what is required of a home inspector). He answered all our questions so we are now much better acquainted with our future home, and he offered tips on efficiency, etc. throughout the inspection. The best part is he was able to detect that the jacuzzi was leaking by looking into the pipes, etc. through a hidden panel. This was not something he was required to do, so we really appreciate that he did as it will save us money and trouble down the line. We expect to receive our report tomorrow (quick turnaround). The Sellers were also very impressed with Craig, we have already referred them to him. Very friendly and knowledgable, goes the extra mile. Thanks Craig, and thanks Chris for recommending him! read more

Craig is a one-of-a-kind home inspector. He eats, sleeps and thinks Home Inspection. He is incredibly detailed and thorough on his home inspections. What I really like is that he's not only a home inspector, but he actually teaches the state course for you to become a New Jersey licensed home inspector, that's a very rare find. He can talk about any subject in regard to Home Inspection. I've never met anybody that has that much knowledge as a home inspector. I've been doing construction for 40 years and met many different home inspectors. You can't miss by hiring Craig. read more

HORRIBLE!! BEWARE!! If you're a purchaser, and you know nothing about home inspections, you'd think this guy was thorough - but he's not thorough at all. We recently had a place inspected by him and he skipped analyzing the heating system, and the main heating system in the building, and instead filled the report with small things that weren't even accurate. The follow-up to the inspection corrected almost 50% of the remarks he made in his report, as they were just not correct! AVOID this guy at all costs! He won't guarantee his work, and then you're screwed if he misses something big and you trust his report! read more

I have to say Craig was the best! I called many home inspectors (over 12), half of them offered the poorest quality and minimal services (they sometimes didn't even know the sellers/buyers rights, you were just $$$ to them), the other half had so many complaints on the NJ State Website, where they were under investigation for corrupt activity. Craig was prompt, extremely through, polite, he took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions. Buying a house is a extremely stressful process, and Craig helped reduce that stress by addressing all of my concerns. I was even able to get a very large credit due to through inspection report (with pictures). I cannot say enough about Craig. Eveyone buying a home should call him, don't waste your time calling anyone else. read more

As first time homebuyers, we were given a list of recommendations of home inspectors by our realtor. One of these recs was Craig at Complete Home Inspection. I called every recommendation and got quotes from them all; Craig was by far the most reasonably priced (and also the friendliest to talk to). I also found out that he teaches a course on home inspection at a local school (which is great for us, I figured he could teach us a thing or two about our future home!) After reading the glowing reviews for this company on Yelp, we chose Craig. I would say this was maybe one of the best decisions in our entire home buying process! Craig was on time, an absolute pleasure to work with, and most of all: extremely thorough; he literally gets into every possible space of the home, no matter how challenging. He also explained everything he was checking and why. This was truly invaluable as my husband and I know nothing about owning a home; Craig answered all of our questions with never ending patience and even gave us some extremely valuable home ownership upkeep tips along the way. He also did a full termite check and instant radon test while inspecting the house. I can't emphasize enough how excellent of a job Craig did on inspecting our home and how great he was to work with-you can tell that he loves what he does and really cares that you feel comfortable, knowledgable and safe moving forward with your home. If you are like me and reading these reviews before making a decision, every one of these reviews is accurate; go with Craig from Complete Home Inspection. You won't be disappointed. read more

My husband and I were impressed with how knowledgeable and thorough Craig was during our home inspection. He was so friendly and went above and beyond explaining everything. We found Craig on ashi.org and read his positive review on yelp. I was impressed by his knowledge during the phone conversation and quite liked the sample report he sent. The actual experience was even better! He did go above and beyond to help his clients as promised - among all the inspectors I called, he is the only one who is willing and capable of getting on the roof when weather permits without extra charge and have a set of gadgets/tools for more accurate examination including as computer-based radon testing device. Since we are buying a home only 10-years old, we did not take inspection that seriously at the beginning. Cosmetically it looks fabulous, thus we never expected to find any major issues with it. Boy, we were wrong! Craig did an extremely thorough inspection and spent almost five hours on that 3000+ sqft house. He did not miss anything! The major issues he found for us include an ongoing basement leak, exterior wall crack (which is not that visible without climbing onto a ladder) and AC unit inefficiency. And a lot of the minor issues he found might be simply skipped from inspection by other inspectors, such as malfunctioning dishwasher/microwave, windows that are stuck/difficult to open, missing auxiliary drain line and etc. More importantly he did his best to help us like a friend and offered all kinds of home improvement suggestions whenever applicable. We learnt a ton just by being there at the inspection with him. No wonder he is teaching home inspection courses at the same time. On a side note, realtors do not like him...they think that he "takes too much time and mentions everything...". He works hard and sent us the report about two days after the inspection. But it is not only the speed/efficiency but his principle on getting things right that impressed us. He redid the radon test suspecting it might not be accurate the first time and sent the report to us the next day after the device was retrieved and sent to the lab. Another great thing about him is that he tries his best to take calls and answer questions even after the inspection. This gives us a huge peace of mind since we know that he is there supporting us from beginning to end (not just before the check was cashed.:) We would definitely hire Craig again for our next house and would recommend him to any home buyers. He is not cheap but can for sure help prevent costly future hassles. read more

Craig charged a fair price, and I found him to be very responsive and easy to make an appointment with. We chose him because we heard how extremely thorough he was, and he proved this was the case during the inspection. He checked every area of the home in painstaking detail, while always answering our questions and dishing out helpful information. At the end, despite significant rain, he made it a point to get up on the roof to do an in depth roof and chimney inspection despite the weather. Good thing, because he found (and photographed) a small deficiency in the chimney liner. We have worked with a number of inspectors in the past, but Craig was by far the most detailed and thorough. I highly reccomend scheduling him if you can! read more
