Great place to use for your storage needs. The employees are always helpful and willing to accommodate as needed.

1/5 Our experience with the U-Haul location in Elsmere, KY,…read morehas been nothing short of a nightmare. We've extended our rental multiple times and tried to renew through the app and the 1-800 number since the store line rings endlessly without anyone answering. Every time we extended, we were overcharged, with no clear explanations, and were met with the manager's rude and dismissive attitude. The lack of professionalism, unnecessary hostile comments, and disregard for customer respect are unacceptable. After emailing U-Haul's customer service directly about these issues, they didn't bother to contact me but referred my complaint back to the general manager, who called me. Unfortunately, this call was even worse. The GM was incredibly unprofessional, taking my complaint personally and speaking with a noticeable level of aggression. He repeatedly interrupted me, questioned my honesty, and insisted that the fluctuating charges were just "estimates charged based on what the system felt was appropriate." He seemed to use the fact our card was declined as vindication for the attitude from "Jeanne" He even suggested that because we weren't allowed to renew through the app, we were somehow being dishonest "because that just doesn't make any sense" By the end of the call, I was left in tears. Luckily-I've recorded the call this time and shared it with the Better Business Bureau and my substantial social media platform, so others know what kind of customer service they can expect from this location. It's clear where the employees have picked up their disrespectful approach. I would strongly advise avoiding this location if you value respect, fair treatment, or clear communication from your rental provider.

I was told that I was going to have to go to another U-Haul location upwards of 25 to 30 minutes away to secure the equipment that I requested. Next time in the future I will not choose U-Haul to rent song I will choose Penske each and every time in the future.

By far the worse experience I have had with any company. They let boxes fall and did not secure the…read morecargo in the truck. When they showed up, I saw many lamps and boxes had shifted during transit and had fallen. Most importantly, they destroyed my $650 computer monitor, by allowing it to either be stacked with other heavy boxes (when it clearly had fragile written on it) or had let it fall when they were walking it in with the handcart, and of course have refused to pay for it. They also constantly complained about having to move boxes upstairs. And today, while trying to use our pull-out couch, we noticed it was broken from them struggling to move it. We used the Erlanger, Kentucky branch. Also, the customer service representative and supervisor both were incredibly rude people. I would never recommend this company, steer clear.

I was under-quoted for my move, despite providing them with an itemized list of furniture, and items, and describing the square footage of my home. A one-day 10-hour move turned into 2 days and 16 hours total. 2. I was told that I would not need to empty drawers to prepare and that the drivers would take apart beds and wrap items for me and then was told that I was not fully prepared for the move by the drivers. They ran out of time and space on my first day, which resulted in furniture being left in my driveway for me and my family to get moved into the house at 9pm. 3. The movers did not move items to specified areas despite being asked and provided with pictures and I also had to remind them to take things repeatedly. 4. I was not provided with detailed instructions on how to properly prepare for the move, including cleaning out my deep freeze, the fact that they cannot move any paint, chemicals, etc., and that they cannot take apart exercise equipment to move it. I was not told until they were driving away that they could not move a treadmill because it needed to be taken apart and that they could not do this. Had I known this information, I would have taken it apart myself and would have been better prepared. I had to call a manager to come out to help resolve the issue which led to further delays. It comes down to poor homeowner education on their part to help prepare for the move and overall poor communication regarding what they can and cannot do. For larger moves, a on-site visit and estimate should be a requirement to avoid issues such as this as well as a pre-move call to go over the items and ensure that they are all prepared. This move was extremely stressful and was extremely expensive which may have been avoided had the company done their diligence in their estimates and in preparing the homeowner for the move. Terrible experience. I will not use this company again.
