This place is huge . They have an array of pastries , Cookies and croissants. You can buy their coffee tins. We ordered Cappuccino and Machs tea lattes. My matcha was a bit on the sweet side.Cappuccino was rich and flavorful. We also ordered Almond croissants Applewood smoked bacon egg and cheese sandwich. It was good. I was hoping they would serve it on a biscuit .The sandwich was on a bun pre made sandwich heated in microwave . Didn't much care .

I wish there were more Compass Coffee locations near me! I've been to the Fairfax location several times now, and haven't been disappointed. I've visited this location several times during the holidays and have enjoyed drinks such as a gingerbread latte and a peppermint mocha latte. My order has always come out perfect. And the best part is that Compass doesn't charge for alternative milks, either! The dining area here is fairly large. I just love the huge open space, it's warm and inviting. On a few occasions, maybe literally a bit too warm -- they had to open the door to make it not feel too hot inside. Plenty of parking nearby. Look forward to coming back for more coffee!

Go-to place for locally roasted coffee in the DC area. The place always seems to be packed on the weekends and parking is hard because of Andy's pizza right next door. Love their cherry blossom cold brew in the spring season! Hope they open a new location in Loudoun County!

12oz turmeric + honey latte, 8oz sugar free vanilla latte

SUPER sweet and helpful barista, overall clean and spacious atmosphere, a bit of a confusing menu (digital screens with rotating information), various quality snack options available. The coffee was honestly disappointing. The milk was not steamed properly in either drink and the espresso flavor was just decent. I loved the flavors the honey + turmeric added, but the SF vanilla wasn't enjoyable in my opinion. I loved that it was made with monk fruit and was excited to try it, but wasn't thrilled at the taste.

Walked in to try the cherry blossom latte and immediately noticed the colorful menu. Contemplated on getting other pretty drinks but got what I really came here for, the Cherry Blossom Latte. I ordered it with almond milk and less sweetness. It was tasty and so pretty! I'm looking forward to trying the matcha and others.

I came here right after work to try out Compass Coffee. I recently saw them at the DC Coffee Festival but never had a chance to try out an actual store location until now. They had their Cherry Blossom Cold Brew and that was enough to entice me to try it out. Upon walking in, there are a lot of tables that were occupied by GMU students. It's a popular place I won't deny that. Walls filled with coffee beans and merch that I think adds more of that chill, relaxed, cafe vibe that people like when staying to do their work, etc.. The Cherry Blossom Cold Brew is an interesting taste. Coffee is really smooth and definitely not too bold enough for you to grab their nearest sugar. The syrup they used adds that flavor gives it a semi sweet taste but enough so you don't feel like you are drinking a candy bar. I wasn't really here for long but I will note that the prices here are a bit high.. I think I paid like 7 bucks for the drink but oh well. It's a seasonal drink but then again I'm also in the city of Fairfax. I would come back for more. They also have a rewards system that'll keep you motivated to venture out of your way for their coffee.

For a strong cup of coffee, I like to stop by this location in Fairfax, VA on my way to the GMU campus. Have been coming here for a year. Lots of pluses. First, the interior is open and filled with natural light. Second, the baristas are really nice - though I have started to use their mobile order-ahead feature. Third, it has 4 short-term parking spots (10 minutes for grab-n-go pickups) - which are shared with Andy's Pizza next door. Fourth, dogs are welcome outside the cafe. Overall, I enjoy stopping by here for coffee. Although it is a bit more expensive for drip coffee than your local Starbucks, in my opinion, it's worth the higher quality taste and buzz.

Definitely expensive coffee, but loved the vibe of this location! The seating is pretty plentiful and nice to sit and do work/ read at for a little bit. Lots of windows and natural light too.

Have not been through the City of Fairfax in a loooonnnnnggg time! I grew up the City of Fairfax - specifically my pre-High School and High School years. A lot has changed in the City in terms of buildings being torn down - and new buildings going up - and that includes Compass Coffee. The business and the building did not exist back then when I used to live in the area. I checked them out today - my brain cells needed some Cold Brew - I note they offer a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew - so I tried that - it's very tasty - and color-wise - it's very "orangey!" There is a ton of seating here inside - and some seating outside. Service was good - paid with Apple Pay. #CompassCoffee

This place has amazing service, ability to pay with Apple Pay, and the inside was so cute with ample seating. The noise level is loud so I wouldn't wfh here and it gets packed. I really wished I can put this higher. But my food/drink was very mid. I got a pumpkin spice ice latte with oatmilk ($7). They don't charge extra for milk alternatives which is a HUGE plus. However, my latte was not the best. It was really condensed? Not sure what the word is but the barista whoever made my drink did not put the correct amount of syrup. Felt like I was drinking the actual syrup bottle. Besides that, they're somewhat like Starbucks and have frozen breakfast sandwiches they heat up and they don't really give condiments. I felt bad for my friend who ordered one saying the bread was cold and wanted ketchup/hot sauce. Love the concept of this place but I don't think the food/drink was up to standard.

Checked out Compass Coffee the other day. The ambience is trendy with sleek decor, friendly staff and the coffee is pretty good, but the prices are a little high for what you get. Still worth a try if you're in the neighborhood and want a decent cup of coffee.

This is a really nice coffe shop! I had a sausage, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich and Iced vanilla late. Service was really nice, polite and surprisingly quick. The cool thing, you can watch them make your coffee drink because they're making it directly in front of you. This place was busy! And the guy was patient and described a few things on the menu. I wanted to give 5 stars, but.... The only two negatives, was the bread on the breakfast sandwich was tough and difficult to bite through. Like after you microwave bread or pizza for too long, it can change the texture tremendously making it chewy and tough. My sandwich kept falling apart after I bit into it several times because the bread was tough like beef jerky. The sausage patty was cooked, but not browned, flavor was sorta bland. In my opinion, the sausage egge and cheese from Starbucks is way better. -1 Star Also, they desparately need to deep clean the floors alongside the windows. Very yucky to see remnants of old food, crumbs and spilled stuff while dining. - 1 Star Other than that, very nice vibes, well lit, open and inviting atmosphere.

Caramel macchiato. 2 % milk. Light ice.

So happy to see compass here. Great coffee and an inviting place that doesn't smell of big box, like Starbucks .

I saw Haraz on Instagram right around the time they opened, and the photos and videos of the interior and the food are spot on. The designers knew exactly what they were doing with the color pallet, lighting, and furniture to design an open, welcoming, and relaxing space reminiscent of the Middle East. You order at the counter either through a tablet or with an employee, and if there is a line you get a few extra moments to gaze into their pastry display that also features my favorite pistachio milk cake. It makes a lovely, light dessert or midday treat. Another pastry-specific highlight is their bee bites. It looks like a bubble waffle but is a toasted bread with cream cheese and honey. They are busy pretty much at all times of day and on the weekends especially. Morning coffee, early afternoon, and even late at night with large groups hanging out and enjoying coffee. Haraz is a chain/franchise, but they know what they're doing to make it feel local and like something special. They employees are always polite, patient, and helpful.

This time I had to order their Zatar Grilled Cheese sandwich, because majority of the other sandwich options were out or no longer being sold. The quality of the sandwich was poor and too basic for the price. With my small latte and the Zatar sandwich, the bill came to ~$17 (without tip). If the quality was great or unique okay, but it's not worth it. If you come here, only come for a drink something - not the food. Either they need to lower the price of the sandwich significantly or make it better to justify the price; I felt like it way too basic to be price-justified. 3/5

I can finally say that I've tried these viral fruit desserts and I was not disappointed!…read more Layered seems to have a few haters based on previous reviews, but I don't understand why. Are the fruit desserts pricey? Yes. I paid about $42 for 3 of them. But I can also acknowledge that a lot of skill and time goes into making these - from the multi-layered fillings to the airbrushed coatings on top. They're a work of art! And every single one looked perfect in the glass display. As for the flavor? I really enjoyed the ones I tried - mango, pistachio and orange (pictured). Mango was by far my favorite. The crunch when you bite into these is so satisfying, and the fruit purees in the middle taste like fresh fruit and not artificial at all. The pistachio one had a Dubai inspired filling with kadaif. They look small but honestly one is more than enough for dessert. I also appreciate that there seems to be a ton available throughout the day now and they aren't selling out like they were months ago. I'll be back!

Stunning visual masterpieces that unfortunately belong on a grid, not a plate…read more I was highly anticipating trying the famous fruit desserts that dominate everyone's social feeds, especially since they advertise a Michelin-rated chef. Walking in, the aesthetic is immaculate and the service is completely on point and easily a 9/10 for the venue and presentation. These treats are genuine works of edible art. But at a premium price point for what turns out to be miniature 2-to-3 inch pastries, the actual culinary execution simply didn't deliver, making the Michelin pedigree a massive disappointment. The fruit desserts get a 4/10, strictly out of respect for the visual artistry. They completely lacked that transcendent, eye-roll-inducing flavor you expect from high-end patisserie. Instead of wanting to savor every bite, we couldn't even finish them and heartbreakingly had to throw them out. The strawberry and raspberry variations lacked any exterior structural crunch, resting on a soggy cookie base that tasted like a stale gingerbread biscuit. The biggest offender was the filling; the cream felt heavy, flat, and reminiscent of standard, grocery-bought cream. When a pastry relies this heavily on cream, it desperately needs elite ingredients and texturized, solid components to balance the richness. Compounding the disappointment, the heavy ingredients left my entire family with serious stomach issues later that night. Even the mango which was relatively the best of the flight was still completely weighed down by too much cream versus actual solids. As for the mango smoothie? A definitive pass (3/10). It was pure sugar syrup that left a thick, parching coating on the tongue. It is a beautiful conceptual experience for a photo op, but if you are seeking a refined flavor profile to match the visual grandeur and the culinary credentials, the substance just isn't there.
