Yes it is a mom-and-pop owned business. very small however ..the food is very tasty.... very hot ...and very well made. Hubby and I had a Pizza, the chicken parmesan(I didn't like it as much as he did. I thought that the chicken was greasy and over cooked) and the lasagna..The sizes aren't huge but could easily be shared..if one doesn't have a vivacious appetite..(we had quite a lot of left overs!) Their sauce could have used a pinch more sugar (I like a sweet sauce!) But it was definitely well seasoned with garlic and various Italian seasonings. The waiter was very friendly and attentive and we received our food in a timely manner. There were just a few other patrons in the tiny restaurant...at one of the tables someone was celebrating a birthday and the staff sang them a heart felt birthday song. This is an easily missed hole in the wall Italian restaurant. Keep an eye out for 7-eleven or a dry cleaner's. Compari's is in between both. Tiny parking lot with a few spaces for street parking. Heavy aroma of garlic. The inside dining area is quaint but very small, so not great for large groups. I tried the pizza here and they do make a pretty good pizza. The sauce is much more robust and rich then brand name chain pizzas. The dough is soft and tastes like it was made with more care. The pizza is more expensive then your large chain places, but this is a small family run business and it has been in business for many years. You will get solid Italian here. read more

My husband and I just went to this little gem for lunch today,it's almost hidden in a small parking lot and little hard to find if you don't know about it.This food tastes authentic, it was absolutely delish! The sale was fresh and you could tell the pizza was made from scratch. My husband had the meatball sub and he loved it. I randomly stumbled upon this nugget of Italian Gold. I read a review about the anti-pasto salad...so I decided to order it. I also went for the fried Mozzarella cheese which were fantastic & ordered a large house pizza which was amazingly tasty. I ordered takeout but will definitely try to dine-in next time. I've driven by this place many times and finally stopped in to pickup lunch to go. I ordered the large italian sub. It came out quickly and I was on my way. Once I got the chance to try it--It was perfection--the bread was lightly toasted and still very soft (not like Bay City Deli where the bread is so hard you will cut your mouth) and the first bite was perfect, soft bread, tangy dressing, italian meats, grated cheese and a little crunch from the thinly sliced lettuce and onion. I was only going to eat half (It was about a foot long) but I quickly ate the whole things and was completely satisfied, I will be back! The portions are enough for seconds but you try not to leave any because it is that good. I recently had the lobster raviioli in a pink cream sauce. The raviioli was nice and stuffed full of lobster and when it was all done the side of garlic bread was perfect for dipping in the pink cream sauce. I found this place when I first moved back to LA, it's in a weird location, so if I hadn't walked past almost everyday I probably would have never noticed it. I love Italian food so I figured I had to try it. I was impressed, the food is great and I love the atmosphere kind of romantic, it was a really good pick for a date when my boyfirend and I decided to go one night, it's a great spot. Two different orders: one day carry out lasagna and garlic bread, 4.5 out of 5 stars. my 4 year old liked it as well. parking was very difficult next day they delivered a small 10" pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms, as well as a small eggplant sandwich, i live relatively close to them, but was pleasantly surprised at how hot the food was when it hit my door.
