Hello everyone. I mainly writing this review so that people don't get screwed over. I almost bought a $36 part for my laptop from them, but was getting very sketchy vibes. The website name they use is Notebookparts.com which confused me because their company name is Compxp Inc. Which caused me to dive in and investigate further. I found them on Walmart and Amazon, which almost all of their parts have no reviews or show any purchases. Many of the reviews are quite terrible; ranging from receiving nothing, poor communication (or none). No refunds or accountability. Some people had their laptops catch fire from the parts they ordered! Many say they didn't get the part that was ordered or shown. I noticed shortly after many poor reviews, many good reviews would pop up right after. Usually saying something good about what someone complained for a week or two before! Also with reviews tied to no product or validation they bought the product. I really need a good part--and there's tons of the part for $6-$7 (it's a DC jack for my laptop) but after reading so many horror stories and noticing sketchy reviews ( in many companies) I began to get suspicious. Their website looks very poor and from what I've gathered across Walmart/Amazon/Their Website, it seems to be a one-person operation. I called the number and it went to voicemail but it was just some guy's phone. No professional business line or anything. Which you can't hate on a small business for that I know, but it just furthered the general sketchiness. Here are some places with reviews to this company with largely poor reviews. I ordered a part from them on Jan. 20th. They informed me it was "out of stock" and that it would ship, at the latest on Jan. 30th. This was of cours a lie and they finally shipped the part on Feb. 12th. The part was slightly off due to it being from a different version of the Acer laptop I have. Not a problem, I'll start a return and explain it's the wrong part. I receive a nonsensical request for "In order for us to process a return, kindly provide the following information: 1. Part number on the part we shipped you 2. Warranty number (holographic sticker (s) on the part we shipped you 3. Part number on the original part 4. Reason for replacing the original part This information is used for verification and quality control purposes. Once I have this pertinent information, I will be able to do the necessary research and get back to you with instructions." I take pictures and send everything they want except for the part number of the "original part" since I had fixed it with some JB Weld and I don't even think the palm rest on this crap laptop has a part number on it. And they still request a part number. I explain why I can't give that and don't hear anything back. Four days later I write them again asking if I can get an update. No response. These scumbags finally cancel the refund request. When I send them a nasty note threatening a chargeback they pretend like they're doing me a favor since I ordered it on Jan. 20th and requested the refund on Feb. 19th. It's very obvious the company isn't honest about what is in stock and what isn't, doesn't provide any of the customer support promised and then gives nothing because telling them to "cut the s@#$" gets a response of "Using this type of language will not get you anywhere in life." On 8/7/2022 I placed an online order from this company web site www.notebookparts.com (aka Com Xp). Company provided FedEx tracking number for their shipment. Their shipment charge was relatively high ($20) for my very light part. Company email included this line for charge detail: "Fedex Ground (Shipping Handing and INSURANCE) for $20.00 USD". As I didn't receive my order timely; I checked FedEx web site to see that this delivery was done on 8/12/2022. But I never received such shipment. I've been living at this location for 10 years and never lost a single package from any carrier. Specially and due to my job FedEx delivers to me parts from my employer every week. I personally know my FedEx driver. I emailed ComXp sales support on 8/25/2022, asking either for a refund or (on a later email on 8/26) for a replacement. ComXp said that they filed a FedEx trace on same tracking number, which (not surprisingly, I've been told) that it came as delivered. After several rude customer shaming and gaslighting emails; ComXp refused to provide refund/replacement. So much for shipment insurance they charged me for. After I filed a PayPal complaint next (my method of payment), ComXp repeated the same line to PayPal. At the end I filed a dispute thru my bank and got my money back. After receiving the wrong part, I contacted Comp XP Inc. (A.K.A. www.Notebookparts.com) and got the shuck & jive treatment from their customer service rep for over a week. The company has a ~policy~ of not answering the phone. They refused to speak with me. They refused to honor my request in writing for an exchange. They claimed they lost my emails and forgot what I was asking them to do for me. Ultimately I had to buy the part from another company and ate the cost on this order. These people are scam artists. Do not buy from this company under any circumstances! Worst experience I have ever had with any on-line retailer ever! read more

Ordered a hard to find assembly for a Lenovo laptop. The item arrived quickly and was in great condition, however a sub-component of the assembly was missing. I double checked their website and my order to confirm that I had ordered and paid for a complete assembly, which I had. I contacted their customer service via telephone -quite easily -and explained the problem with their rep. She verified the order and the shipment on their end and acknowledged that they had sent the wrong item. They offered to process as a refund, to exchange the item I received completely OR to simply send the missing sub-component for me to install. I asked that they send the sub-component. The part arrived two days later, looking and working well. Mistakes happen. The company took responsibility for the mistake and offered a choice of solutions from which to choose. I let them know that I was not in a hurry, so the two day shipping delay did not matter to me. Had I been in a rush, I am confident they would have sent the sub-component by priority overnight. I will definitely do business with notebookparts.com (Comp XP) again should a need arise. read more

I purchased a motherboard from these guys. The motherboard was defective. I paid to ship it back and they sent me a second defective motherboard. They asked I ship the computer to them (at my expense) and I did. Now they tell me that because the cover was off the bottom of the laptop that it "came in parts" and can't do anything. I didn't see any issue as it was packed by FedEx and they would have to have taken the cover off anyway. It also took them 2 weeks to determine that it "came in parts". These guys don't even answer the phone when you call, it's a huge rip off. I think they are hoping people won't complain and they can keep their money. Other reviewers have commented on how hard it is to get money back from these guys. I hope I get mine back. It was over $400.00. In short, buyer beware! read more

I use CompXP as my resource for all of my laptop needs. Every customer of mine wants same day service on their laptop and sometimes its impossible. Amin always helps me out and is very knowledgeable when it comes to laptop parts. I applaud them and I am excited to have an on-going relationship with their company. I never dealt with them on-site, only in-store. They honor all my requests and they replace any part that is defective. read more
