I love good Mexican restaurant and we came here while visiting Truckee. No reservations needed, only street parking available, and they have options to sit inside or outside. The weather was gorgeous we sat outside to enjoy the sun. Our waitress was super sweet and nice. We ordered a shrimp cocktail for the table. My friend and I shared a burrito along with some chips and salsa. Pretty chill vibe will recommend if you are ever in the area.

Perfect place to enjoy a late lunch while having the sun on your back! The servers were so welcoming and full of great suggestions, the chips and salsa DELISH! Tacos spot on. We enjoyed jalapeño margs with tajin and salted rims. Lovely outdoor seating with ample seating.

Vegan review. We were a pretty large group and they sat us right away. The door was delicious here I ordered the jackfruit fajitas. And they were spicy and delicious. Clean place and nice atmosphere. Customer service was amazing. He did such a great job guiding all of us and helping all of us on our choices. I would definitely come back here again.

I'm obsessed with Como's queso. Like very obsessed! It's the only queso I've found that is vegetarian friendly without chorizo already in the queso, of course if you want to add it you can! Also they have amazing drinks and great bartenders! They even have some of the best mocktails I've ever tried! Definitely recommend sitting on the patio in the summer or tucking in at the bar during the winter!

COMO is an absolute gem in Truckee; from the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel genuinely welcome, friendly, attentive, and on point without being overbearing. The cocktail menu is top notch, with creative, well-balanced drinks that are as beautiful as they are delicious. The ambiance, especially outside, is spot on; great music, cozy lighting, and a relaxed mountain vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. Bonus points for being incredibly dog friendly, our pup was treated like a VIP, which was a huge plus. Whether you're out for a date night, drinks with friends, or just passing through, COMO nails it on all fronts; easily one of the best spots in Truckee.

Warm and welcoming decor, attentive staff, and an interesting blend of flavors here. Visited for dinner and ordered a wet shrimp burrito and the Oaxaca old fashioned. The burrito was large and well presented, and they were generous with the shrimp. The salsa was sweeter than I anticipated and was not the best blend with the interior flavors for me. The old fashioned was strong with some bite to the finish, and the bourbon flavor was earthy. The staff here were friendly and attentive, and the environment was lively but not too loud. Would recommend for groups looking for a comfortable location to enjoy downtown Truckee.

Full menu - we ordered from the small plates, tacos, cocktails and mocktails.

The service is beyond belief. They have a sister restaurant next door called Clean Plate. All of the low tables at Como were filled up and Ashley asked if we would like to seated at their sister restaurant next door. We didn't even leave the building! She passed me to Ashley at Clean Plate and presented me with both menus. My partner had a hankering for Mexican so we ordered 2 of the large taco orders. Both the Carne Asada and Baja Fish Tacos were the best we have had in a long time. They are 5.25 for 1 taco and 15.25 for 3 tacos. Partner and I each swapped one so I got to taste both. Fish was magic dipped in a tempura batter (light - not heavy and crunchy!!). There was black bean and corn salsa and cabbage with it. The corn tortilla was house made - hand pressed. Great flavor and texture. The Carne Asada had beef cut small enough to prevent it getting stuck in my teeth (I was so happy). There was avocado salsa and Cotija cheese in it with it as well as a classic salsa ranchero. We also got the chips and sals. We weren't going to but I'm so glad we did. Again warm house made tortilla chips with two house made salsa - tomatillo and a roasted Roma tomato salsa that was cooked down into a divine thick salsa that hung on to the tortilla chip like it was in love with it. Our mouths were so in love with the chips and salsa. This is NOT cheap Mexican street food. This was clean, upscale, dare I say gourmet Mexican street food. Worth every penny. Do t let me forget our beverages. He had the Como Margarita - gold star approval from my margarita connoisseur partner. I had a mock tail that was AMAZING. I had the Mango sin Tango which had mango, lime, ginger, chamoy and soda in it. It is the bartender's favorite mocktail. Btw, he was very nice to look at. Check out Bob on Friday nights! You're welcome. Super nice people, super fast back of the house. You will get a meal and an experience that rivals the finest in San Francisco. Total bill was 67.74 including tax and an employee health surcharge of $1.67. This staff needs to have affordable healthcare so we gladly paid that 3% and hope they stay healthy! I want them all here when we come back. We will be back!!!!

Two restaurants in one: Como and Clean Plate. We loved both but the salads at Clean Plate were the best salads ever! We ate there three days in a row. Each day, Asher was our server and he was OUTSTANDING! Excellent service! Great food!

COMO'n over and get yourself some tasty tacos and more! Stumbled into this uniquely decorated restaurant while walking around Old Truckee town. The chicken tortilla soup was was like a warm hug on a chilly day, pretty tasty too. The mound of guacamole had the perfect amount of acidity, I would eat it all to my self! My tacos were very unique, bursting with flavor. A huge surprise is that they make all their tortillas in house so it adds a nice texture with each taco. Great customer service and overall vibe at this restaurant. I would highly recommend it.

The beets, candied walnuts and cheese mixed with the arugula was such a fantastic and delicious combo! I'd drive 4 hours just for this salad! The all meat pizza is delicious! The tangy tomato sauce is a very welcomed change of flavor when compared to other pizzas. The sour dough crust is a welcome change too! Very tasty with the tasty meat toppings! The beer flight I had was delicious! I liked the first one a lot! I'm not a very big drinker but I liked the first one. The stout is very delicious too with a fairly strong coffee flavor. I was a little concerned on my drive up to the spot, since you turn off the main road, go up the hill and onto a side street with more than its fair share of potholes. We had a later reservation (7:30 pm) and even though it was a Friday night, the dining room was fairly quiet by the time we arrived. I was seated next to the window and my server, Lee, introduced himself. I was there in time to see the sun dip below the hills and the lights come up on the Main Street below. It really does offer a picturesque view. My friend arrived and she ordered their "famous" Caesar salad and I got the crispy chicken sandwich. We were both quite happy with our choices. I tried hers and the dressing had a touch more anchovy than I prefer, but that's why I don't order Caesar salads. My chicken sandwich came with a generous heap of fries, lightly spiced, and I enjoyed the cabbage and the fact that the bun held up to the contents well. There is a decent wine selection as well as a full bar and signature cocktails, for those who want to imbibe. I went with a cup of Earl Grey, since I'd driven up from the Bay Area and needed a drop of caffeine to stay alert. We shared their carrot cake for dessert and it hit its mark. Not overly sweet, a hint of cream cheese in the frosting. Lee's service was friendly, but not intrusive. We were well taken care of. The food is more than decent, not groundbreaking, but perfect for a good meal after travel or a long day. It also feels like a local's place, not trying too hard to attract tourists. Don't miss stepping outside on the deck. There's a vintage red neon sign that announces Hilltop Lodge that makes for a fun photo op and another great view.

We tried the Zucchini blossoms (lightly crispy batter fried) deliciousness, the burrata salad (that had just enough burrata to taste, and none to waste). After seeing someone else get pizza on the way in we had to try it, and opted for the mushroom and asparagus pizza. Took a while to be seated even though there were only 3 tables of 3-4 people. Large nice-looking bar at the entrance. They left a water pitcher at the table and a small bowl of salsa but no chips. So when we ordered food I inquired about the chips and she brought them over. They were warm. Salsa was lacking and reminded me of ketchup or a tomato paste base. Not very flavorful. I ordered the crispy taco and enchilada meal with an asada taco and chicken enchilada. I opted for the green and red sauce half and half on top of the enchilada. The food took awhile to come out. The taco was a corn tortilla but it was not crispy at all. More street taco vibe. Asada was dry. Enchilada was smothered in so much cheese that it got stuck in my throat when swallowing it. Sauces were not good either. I left the majority of my enchilada for my dog. By boyfriend ordered the nachos with asada. He does not like onions tomatoes or cilantro so he asked if there weee tomatoes or onions or cilantro in the guacamole. The server said there was so he asked to sub avocado for the guac because of that. No where on the description did it say there were onions and cilantro on the nachos but when it arrived cilantro and onions were all over it. We did not complain or send it back but when the server came by to ask how everything was we explained the issue and she kind of got defensive about it. I told her we're just being honest and they may want to look at their menu and update it to accurately describe their menu items and what is included. Overall not impressed.
