Stopped here for dinner on our first evening in Truckee. We sat inside, it was cool (very hot outside!), quiet, music low. Prices were a bit high, so we decided on sharing the Baja Fish tacos ($5 each or 3 for $15.00). Baja Fish tacos were tempura battered fried mahi, baja sauce, cabbage, black bean corn salsa. Fish was crisp and yummy. After 1 taco, I was still hungry; I really wanted to try the COMO Salad - mixed greens, jicama, carrot, pepita, cherry tomato, cilantro vinaigrette for about $16.00. Our server told us it was quite large, but when asked, they would not do a half portion. So instead, I ordered a single Pollo Verde street taco ($5.00) -chicken, tomatillo chili salsa, pickled onion, avocado, queso fresco. Really yummy and substantial. Not bad for our first time out in Truckee - street tacos good, food a bit pricey. read more

Wonderful Server Temma. We had elote which was phenomenal. We had the masienda sopes which were amazing as well. Sauces are all made in house as well as the tortillas. We had a spicy skinny margarita that was wonderful with a sprig of rosemary. Can't wait to try the other selections on our next trip. read more

This is my new favorite restaurant- super cool environment- great staff- quickest I've ever gotten a drink in my entire life or food! Everything tastes amazing and fresh! Pros: - Pina colada was strong and delicious - Tacos were good and generously filled (even if that made them somewhat challenging to eat - We were immediately seated at 6:30 on a Saturday. The outdoors patio is lovely on a warm summer night. Cons: - Maybe the worst queso I've ever had in my life. It was gritty, didn't taste cheesy, and was lukewarm. Stopped in the beautiful town of Truckee to have some lunch. Como has indoor and outdoor dining. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the nice weather. Menu is accesible through QR code. You can put in your order and payment through the QR code as well. We ordered the Hibiscus cocktail, 1 shrimp taco, 1 fish taco, 1 carne asada taco, 1 carnitas taco and 2 salsa negra tacos. All tortillas are handmade. The tacos are not traditional mexican tacos. Como does their own take on tacos. By far my two favorite were salsa negra and carnitas. The taco prices range from 3.50-5 dollars which is a lot pricier than a local taqueria. Great service, good food and nice environment. All things considered I would definitely come back ! read more

The people in my group who got burritos didn't enjoy their meal as much as those who ordered tacos. Lots of outdoor seating, quick and friendly service. We started with the guacamole and salsas which both were both really good however the chips were so thin it makes it hard to eat with the guac, also most of the chips were broken on the bottom of the basket and when your charging $1 for refills. All the meats for the tacos were very flavorful the salsa pork was delicious however the tortillas fell apart after first bite, they need to either double up or char them help them hold up to the meats. The service left something to be desired no smiles items took quite some time to come to the tables, waited near 10 mins for our drinks after we ordered. read more

Stopped here for the outdoor patio on a sunny, warm day for lunch. The atmosphere is very nice and the service was great. The food was bland. We had shrimp fajitas and the chicken salad. My wife and I came after a wedding in June. The tacos are legit. Good quantities of meat. Lots of avocado on the tacos by default. Also the guacamole was pretty decent. You MUST try the Cauliflower al Pastor street tacos from COMO! They are just delicious! It doesn't matter if you are a vegetarian or meat eater, the flavors and textures are amazing. We stopped here just for these tacos on our way through Truckee and we will be back every time. They have a lovely patio that allows dogs :0) and the employees were friendly and helpful. For the vegetarian dishes, I think they could have done a better job; the meatless burrito should have some grilled veggies and cheese in it, it was basically rice, beans and salsa. The tacos were vegetarian so beans or some protein source in them would have been good. They were basically a piece of pineapple, a little bit of salsa and cauliflower. Other than that great service and atmosphere. Just would appreciate a little more effort for the price when it comes to the vegetarian dishes. Wet burritos basically just have an addition of sauce, no cheese as wet burritos typically do. Regardless, it's one of the better options on Donner Pass Road for dinner. read more

Came here for the first time with my family. It is extremely overpriced and underwhelming. They charge for small salsa and chips (which are free at other restaurants next door). The portions are small for the price. The food was mostly spicy even after we asked for it be not spicy. Everything we ordered, including the food for our toddler was burnt. Honestly I saw the reviews before coming here so I knew it was going to be hit or miss. Started out with the chips, salsa and guacamole. Guac was really bland and salsas were mediocre. The fish taco was the better option over the steak which was poorly seasoned with no flavor. The tortillas were still hard and just fell apart. Lastly the drinks which got really good reviews on here. The house margarita was undrinkable. Maybe it was the bartender last night but even the lady next to us couldn't drink hers and was struggling with every sip. Tasted only like cheap tequila. Overall very disappointed and wish we chose a different option on our vacation. Wouldn't comeback or recommend to anyone who is visiting. read more

Baja fish tacos were meh ... the batter on one of the three was soggy and cold (perhaps cooked for another order?) and the corn tortillas were crumbly and falling apart when picked up, so I ended up eating the contents of the tacos without them. They also don't offer complimentary chips and salsa ... honestly, what Mexican restaurant doesn't offer chips and salsa?!? Service was nonexistent. We had to wait for 10 minutes for our server to reappear after he removed our plates and ask for the check. They were NOT busy at all and seemed to have adequate staffing ... we could've walked away without paying and they wouldn't have figured it out. I wish I could give this restaurant a higher score, but in the height of a global pandemic, compliance with the state health and safety mandates is one of the most important things a restaurant can do. The bartender either did not wear a mask or he wore the mask improperly. While mixing drinks he had no mask on and he was obviously breathing on all of the drink glasses. when he walked up to the serving counter he pulled the mask up over his mouth, mainly just his lips, but left the rest of his face, including his nose, completely exposed. Refer to the photograph. The female employee wore a mask at the counter, but while drying the glasses, an act that could expose every customer, she wore no mask. Also refer to the photographs.
