Beef chimichanga plate. Everything tasted fresh and the little scoop of guac was YUM.

On our way to and from Graeagle, I have always wondered about this place. Restaurants with captive audiences are always suspect, but this place was really good. I can usually tell how good a Mexican place will be right when I see their chips. These chips are fried in house and the salsa is nicely fresh without a ton of onion. I got a plate with one shredded beef and cheese chimichanga that came with beans, rice, guacamole, and lettuce. DELICIOUS. I plan on ordering it every time we are in the area. Service was friendly and food came out quick. I am looking forwarding to being out that way again, so I can get another chimichanga plate.

Even though it was crowded, we were seated immediately and had chips and salsa and our menus. We were asked if we wanted something from the bar and it was brought out right away. Another waiter came and took our orders. Our food came pretty quickly and it was delicious. I had the taco and enchilada and my husband had the chilli Relleno and enchilada. The food was excellent. My taco was a little dry, and I only ate half of it, but not enough to change the 5 stars. JJ and his Mom were so nice. Jj is all over the restaurant making sure everyone has what they need. The place is decorated like a Mexican Cantina. Really a nice place. We will definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant.

I had the Ceviche, Guacamole and Fajitas For the ceviche, was a great share plate, just the right flavor For the fajitas, huge portion, flour tortillas were at the right temperature. The refried beans were a good consistency, and the chicken + veggies were grilled perfectly. Bonus of Pacifico on draft. Was bummed that I didn't have time to check out the desserts!

Excellent salsa options especially if you are dining in the brick and mortar. Rico's wisely expanded to Quincy with a food trailer in the warm season. The food is just as good but today ordering options outside of the option of Gringo Burrito I found prices unreasonable. $6.99 for one Quesabirria and some dip. $5.99 for a single pork tamale. This is what I wanted and so I paid the $13+ dollars. And they were both delicious but $6.99 is hardly a price for something "a la cart", a cart being where I ordered from. F*** ICE

We needed a late lunch so we noticed 3 CHP vehicles in the parking lot. That was a signal for this reviewer. We stopped in to a festively decorated Mexican cafe that was terrific. We were immediately greeted for drink orders and delivery of chips and pico de gallo. House recipe for the pico de gallo is top notch! Great flavor. Located in Blairsden at the entrance to Graeagle California it was easy to find, I've been coming to Graeagle for years and love being outdoors here as the trees and sky are like home so it was a no brainer to eat outside on their patio! This was plenty to share and very tasty! Our server was very friendly and helpful and took time to talk about the restaurant which has been there three years and doing very well owned by another restaurant here in Graeagle Cuccias. It was fun to view the bridal party luncheon that was happening, as they had decorated beautifully and of course it was a happy occasion. We started with the Meyer Lemon-Strawberry Rosé Spritzer. It was nice and light for a hot June afternoon. The lemonade was homemade. We shared both the Everything Hummus and the Loaded Guacamole appetizers. The flavors were good, although I will say that one doesn't really need that much pita. One came with soft pita, the other came with warm toasted or fried pita. Will order better next time. I had the Crab Cake sandwich and it had good flavor and was just the right size. The service was very warm and friendly. The whole atmosphere is just extremely relaxing and we can't wait to return.

They were excellent. Like, the kind where you pause mid-bite and nod. The enchiladas were exactly what you want after a long Tahoe day: cheesy, saucy, and piping hot in the best kind of way. Comfort food perfection. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. A couple quirks to know going in: * Beware the green salsa. It is SPICY. Do not mistake it for guacasalsa. It's actually spicier than the red salsa and has some serious kick. * Chips aren't free and only come in one large size, so plan accordingly if you're just looking for a small side.
