Viet coffee rivals Blk Dot in my opinion and raspberry lemonade will be a repeat order for my kiddo. A great selection for coffee lovers. They also have a kids menu, board games and play area for little ones making this a family friendly shop that lives up to their name. Atmosphere is cool and unique with lots of coffee humor. Bathrooms are always clean and smell nice. Staff was friendly and made sure to acknowledge customers even when really busy. Only complaint is kiddos didn't like the salt on the chocolate chip cookie, but for more adult tastes I think it would be perfect. read more

My friend told me she tried a new coffee place in Brea and I had to try it out! I came on a Sunday around 3:00 PM and it was quite busy inside, but no wait to order. There's several tables inside and they also have board games to borrow. Whenever it's my first time at a coffee shop, I always ask the cashier for their recommendation or popular item. He said the Signature Brown Sugar Cookie Delight was popular so I opted for that. It's a Cold brew topped with brown sugar cookie cold foam. They have a 16 oz ($6) and 20 oz ($7) option to choose from. I'm not sure if I came on an off day, but the drink tasted more milky? Unfortunately, I couldn't taste the coffee. Overall, I would give the drink 3 stars. I'm not sure if I'll be back but overall, it's a good spot to catch up with friends or have a little hangout. Potential new favorite coffee shop in OC! From the moment I walked in the doors, I really could feel the sense of community. All of the tables were filled on a Sunday afternoon with people chatting, working, studying, or playing a board game. We sat with our drinks for a while and perused the games. Let me tell you, this is not your average coffee shop board game selection. You could tell the games here were placed by someone who loves board games! All were in perfect condition, no missing pieces, and there was a range of games for everyone to enjoy. I love that they put on community events and hope to make it out for one soon. Are you tired of the same old boring chain store coffee? Yeah, me too. Luckily, if you're in or even near Brea, have I found the spot for you! Owned by April with her husband Matt, they have a really cool, innovative menu. Now, I'm not a fan of cold brew - never had one I actually liked. I got a sample of the Viet Cold Brew plus the "normal" cold brew. Holy crap! I like cold brew it seems, just not bad cold brew. In the end my wife I believe got the Viet Cold Brew drink and I had the Honey Lavender Latte iced. And honestly, I tried both and both made me mad. Why? I live in Glendale. This store is roughly an hour from me, so I will not be able to frequent it too often. But now, I'm not going to be able to frequent any of the big coffee chains anymore either, because once you've had this, how can you possibly go back to that? I have no idea how I live in my new world, but its probably going to involve more reasons to go to the OC. And it's not even just the coffee. The shop is REALLY well done. Its very artistically done, but not in a pretentious way - in a just very inviting manner. They have a number of games there you can play, presumably care of Matt who runs the game store Shuffle & Cut Games just a few doors down (that's a whole other review, but tl;dr - check them out!). Well lit, super friendly staff, great coffee, and prices that were MORE than reasonable, and some that were just straight outstanding (where can you get a breakfast burrito for $8 these days????). This place is so cute and I am so obsessed! They have coffee, pastries, and board games! The workers here were so incredibly sweet and friendly. I came here on a Sunday morning to try a new coffee place and stumbled into this shop. Right away you can tell this place truly wants to bring the community together. There is a reason that everyone you know is talking about this place. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration but it shouldn't be. I've had invitations to meet up for coffee from several friends in the area and for some reason we all keep gravitating back to the friendly vibes and delicious treats you can find here. The parking is limited, but I've always been able to find a spot. The coffees are tasty and imaginative (both in name and in flavor), and service is always friendly and fast. There is a little play area thoughtfully left out for overstimulated parents to give their littles somewhere to just be a kid while they relax for a minute. Even the walkway is adorned with plants from the local "plant lady," which I definitely want to know more about. Having a coffee here is like having a latte in the comfort of your own living room and always feels like a break from the hustle and grind of the outside world. Catch me here any day of the week. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Just to start the coffee and Matcha are incredible. I've tried a lot of their coffee and Matcha options, including seasonal and regular menu items and everything is outstanding. The service is wonderful. I've been to a lot of coffee shops, but none of them compare to this one. This is my absolute favorite. The prices are very reasonable. The owner comes out with seasonal menus that are so cool and creative and no matter what the flavors are, they always seem to come together so perfectly! Love this coffee spot- The first time I came here was for a mom meet up & I absolutely love the fact that they have a dedicated section with toys & and a little play kitchen for the little ones. It's so rare for a coffee shop to have anything that appeals to kids & it's just the best! I love the ambiance of this coffee shop! It's nice to study. The coffee is amazing! I've now had two of their special menu coffees. One was a rose and pistachio latte, so delicious. This one I had today is called the Honey, Honey. When I was ordering it, the barista who helped me was the one who came up with the recipe! It's shaken, and the strawberry with the honey pair so well together! You can choose any milk preference you'd like. I highly recommend this coffee shop. Not to mention, if you purchase anything from the card shop next door, Shuffle and Cut Games, bring your receipt, and you get a dollar off your drink! They have amazing cold brew! My favorite is a seasonal drink from this summer that they were kind enough to make despite it being off the menu. It is a cold brew with orange/coconut cold foam on top. You can really taste the orange flavor in the foam and it pairs extremely well with the coffee. They have lots of seating and the interior has a colorful vibe. The staff is super nice and helpful. My favorite coffee place in the area! Communitea is a great place for trying fun new drink flavors, studying or working, playing games with friends, and seeing other fun small businesses sell their products. They're really living up to the name Communitea. The workers are always extremely helpful and polite and do their best to get your drink tasting the way you like it. I always like getting their espresso tonic variations or trying the different cold foam variations on top of a cold brew. My top favorites so far have been the cherry espresso tonic and the pumpkin pie cold foam. I highly recommend checking this place and supporting a woman owned local business! read more

Communitea lives up to it's hype. Definitely appreciate that it's women-owned! It's in a fairly small plaza but parking wasn't an issue when we got there. Restroom is in the back and is super clean, well maintained. Loved the "reading material" on the walls. There's plenty of comfy indoor seating and I ADORE the outdoor seating area! When we got there, people were situated, either chatting it up or on their laptops handling business. It's obvious that the cafe serves it's community and people are regulars. Everything is super vibrant and very warm and welcoming, including the baristas and customer service. Service was really, really good. The barista who took our order was very determined to give us drinks that we would like, asking questions like, "What is your flavor profile? What types of flavors do you really like?" He was so great and very nice and patient. I liked him a lot. The shop was cute, pretty minimalistic and clean/uncluttered. My daughter bought a plant from one of the sellers they had featured in the shop. I don't prefer mass produced syrups but the barista said that they purchase all those syrups from one small company in up north in the US that made them clean without garbage and unnecessary additives. Was it true? I don't know but I took his word for it. We both ordered our drinks half sweet but it turns out that their drinks are already not overly sweet, so we could've done with more sugar. My daughter ended up having them add more while I left mine alone. I ordered mine with a salted cold foam that was pretty disappointing. I felt like it needed to be thicker in texture and saltier. My daughter loves matcha, like the legit grassy matcha flavors. She ordered a matcha latte with oat milk but when it came out, she and I both looked at it with a grimace. She immediately said to me, "Yeah, that color? That's going to be a problem ..." It was so pale, you already knew by eyeballing it that the matcha flavor would be really mild and dilute-- and it was. It overwhelmingly tasted like oat milk with just a hint of matcha. I told her to tell them to remake it but she refused because she doesn't like wasting food. We really wanted to like it because the barista was just so nice and it was a coffee place really close to her work place but I'm not sure we'll try it again. read more

Got a recommendation from a family member about this little magical hidden gem. Being lovers of coffee and luckily it being so close by my girlfriend and I strapped up our running shoes on a nice summer day and began our run. We made our way over to Communitea with excitement we were greeted with amazing service who explained everything from coffee teas and even some pastries and other food items. After hearing our name called we sat and sipped on our wonderful coffees, us not being a fan of sweet coffee we ordered a viet and a brown sugar cookie delight and might I say they were both amazing not overly sweet just like we like. Do not let the name ("Communi-tea") deter you away from ordering coffee, even though the store ends in "Coffee." Communitea Coffee is located in the plaza with the IHOP and The Vitamin Shoppe, at the corner of Imperial and Randolph. A friend of mine had been raving about Communitea Coffee and their Celtic Chill Cold Brew (Irish cream cold brew topped with cold foam) last week and I knew I had to visit when I was in the area. My friend had even visited multiple times in a week, and does not even live in the area! We love to support local businesses, especially "woman owned, family supported business" noted on their website. If I remember correctly, this used to be another type of tea storefront, as I used to be a patient at North Orange County Chiropractic & Wellness Center next door, but never visited since I prefer coffee. Before entering the coffee shop, the chalkboard outside caught my eye with their specials, especially a Berry Espresso Tonic. This summer, I have been on an espresso tonic-kick and love that Communitea has their own variation. The Celtic Chill Cold Brew is what drew me here, but after eyeing the seasonal drinks, and after asking the barista what their fav was as well, I ordered the Berry Espresso Tonic. Berry Espresso Tonic Fever Tree Tonic flavored with our organic blackberry syrup, topped with espresso and tart pomegranate juice. One can taste the sweetness of the organic syrup, but it was not too overpowering and it was perfectly balanced with the tart pomegranate juice and topped with a dried orange slice for a garnish. I loved the creaminess of the espresso and the creative flavors. If you are not "100% happy with your drink," they will fix it for you! (That is a bold statement, especially for a local shop, but they want you to enjoy your visit and return! Hopefully even recommend them to others.) So take a risk and try something new! I also love how they seem to have ties with the community and will be having a "Candle Making Workshop" coming up in a few days (with pre-registration required). There are board games neatly stacked in one corner and a little play area for children at the other corner. There are a couple of tables on the outside and plenty of tables on the inside. I would love to meet up with friends here in the future, hang out, or play a board game or so. Great vibes and plenty of parking! Lets support small businesses! read more

This coffee shop is super cute with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating now that it's starting to warm up for the summer. The outdoor seating is shaded so it's nice to spend some time outside during the day without being burned by the sun. I ordered an iced chai latte with oat milk and it was delish! I also loved that they had a little corner indoors for a baby play area. I love these little details and consideration.
