We had a great dinner with friends tonight at The Commonwealth! So thankful for a place like this to come to West Temple/Belton/Morgans Point. The entire venue is amazing. Great food, stylish bar and outdoor areas and beautiful pickleball courts. We had 3 appetizers (pimento, peach flatbread, brussel sprouts), cocktails (Black Betty & esquire - both delicious!), and multiple burgers and fish/shrimp platters. Everything was delicious and our server was adorable! We'll be back for sure! Make reservations for dinner! If you can't get inside to eat (recommend), the outdoor area with the stage & corn hole is breezy and nicely shaded by the main building after 6pm ish. read more

This lovely place just opened 2wks ago me and hub checked it out today. The outside is industrial and modern-great access and parking. The inside is an elegant and warm design, tall ceilings, plenty of great light! Nestled right in our neighborhoods! 1230 Saturday-seated at bar(we could've chosen outside) there was a private event happening so some seating was reserved-didn't take away from our experience! Everyone was friendly and we were checked on by staff other than our server. We had the chubbies(Philly sliders) and brisket fries with Hefeweizen on tap! Both dishes were very flavorful and topped with signature sauces, and fresh toppings. It's our first try, and a great one. Nice aesthetic, but noisy, flies everywhere, slow service, cold entree except for the green beans which were good. That was not worth the price we paid. I have no issue at all dining with children, but you could not carry on a conversation without shouting above the 7-8 screaming, unattended children running amok between the tables while their parents drank at the bar or hung out upstairs in the club. A group of kids were using the room we were in to chase around a pickle ball under the tables, and since our chairs kept getting bumped and we couldn't hear above the screaming, we rushed through our meal and left. Still, my biggest issue was I paid a premium price for cold chicken fried steak and had to go hunting the staff for our check so we could pay and leave. read more

I've been here about 5 other times. Every o the time the food has been amazing. I have told everyone to try it. However, tonight, my husbands 40th birthday, I made reservations and the food was so much worse than what we have previously experienced. We usually order the pimento cheese for appetizer. Today we ordered the queso. The queso came out cold and chunky. We asked for a redo. Never got it so we ended up just asking for the pimento cheese and cracker. Which was good as usual. We ordered the pork chop to share because we planned on dessert. When we got the pork chop and cut into it, it was raw and pink and cold. We sent it back and ordered the Wagyu burger. I didn't taste it but my husband said it was good. The fries were crispy. We ended up not getting dessert because we had snacked in so much random stuff that we were full. Overall, great experience and would recommend. Food is tasty, we had the whipped feta as a starter and salmon and snapper for dinner. Both dishes were prepared well, fish and vegetables were seasoned well and cooked properly. Think maybe the rice was slightly overcooked or sat a little long in the pan, but flavor was good. We sat outside on one of the picnic tables. Lots of space outside for activities, seemed attract a lot of children (not good or bad just a fact). Inside looked nice, will sit inside next time. Reservations are a must, especially on Fridays. Great time and we will definitely return. read more

Being a local, I enjoy Commonwealth on a regular basis with my wife and sometimes adult kids. When my wife and I walk into the bar, Diesel, one of the bartenders has our drinks made by the tine we sit down usually. She makes great martinis. The drinks are a bit pricey, but well made. I really like the BBQ pizza and my wife loves the burgers. We always sit at a table in the bar or at the bar where reservations are not needed. Great place. read more

Seems this place is hitting it's stride now that it's been open for several months. We had heard good things about this restaurant for a while and decided to try it out tonight. There were three of us, my wife and I plus a friend. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was bright, modern, and friendly. The front-of-house staff were all friendly and welcoming. We started off with drinks and the loaded queso fries which we shared. The portion easily served the three of us, and the fries were nicely done. For our entrees, I had the Shrimp Pappardelle. The shrimp were well-spiced and delicious, the pasta was a good counterpoint to the shrimp'. My wife had the burger. It was well-prepared and she really enjoyed it. Our friend had the Blackened Snapper and made short work of it. We finished up with a shared "Chocolate is My Spirit Animal dessert. This was a lovely way to end the meal. Our server was friendly, and attentive, in a very unobtrusive way. Water glasses were refilled as needed, and our orders were delivered quickly and overall, the timing of the courses was excellent. The Belton and West Temple area have needed a place like this for a long time. The Commonwealth is casual, but smart and a bit more upscale. The menu is fairly small, but it covers all the bases and all the items are well prepared and well presented. Portion sizes were reasonable and the price was as well. Two things I want to start with-- our food was good and our waitress was very nice. They have quite a few kinks they've got to work out, as there were some things that just made the experience not as enjoyable as it could've been. First, I asked if the bar could make drinks that weren't listed on the menu. The waitress said it should be fine. I ordered a rum punch and the waitress came back shortly afterwards to tell me they couldn't make it. A bar that boasts such an extensive array of alcohol on the wall should have the 3 ingredients it takes to make it. Ingredients that are in a LOT of basic drinks. Then, my husband ordered an Old Fashioned and when it came out, it was made incorrectly. We're not typically people that send things back, but he asked for a different drink instead. The waitress asked what was wrong with the drink so she could relay that to the bartender. The BARTENDER then comes out with the new drink and asked what was wrong with the other one. It was strange as he should've already been told and that answer suffice. He was not rude about it, but it was awkward and just seemed sort of confrontational. Lastly, the restaurant HAS to figure out something different for their waitstaff. We had someone waiting on our table, but 4 different times were approached by other waitstaff to ask if the food or drinks they were holding were ours. We watched as they then went from table to table asking other patrons. Are the tables not numbered? It's very strange that it's that unorganized, even with the restaurant only having been opened recently. That seems like basics for a restaurant-- table numbers and assigned waitstaff. I don't want to make it seem like we hated our experience, it was just awkward. The food was good and the restaurant is neat and has a lot to offer! A food runner spilled our waters all over herself, which isn't my issue at all, Rather, it is that nobody came to clean it up for 7+minutes and it took 15mins to get it finished as we stood in puddles. We also had to ask for someone to bring the replacement waters 20mins later. I also ordered coffee with cream and the "creamer" I received resembled that of skim milk and smelled slightly spoiled. Our server acted so aloof that she even forgot to take my friend's order. She was sitting right beside me... Later, we asked for salt and pepper as the fries had no salt on them and we received only the pepper shaker.. food was extremely disappointing as well, maybe it would have been better if I had had a few of their drinks as it seems that is the draw of this establishment. read more

Great place to eat and meet up with friends. I've been 3 times and the steaks have been great with the exception of our last visit. It was explained to us they had a new cook on a Friday evening. Hopefully they will address this. The salmon is absolutely to die for. I cannot say enough about it and I'm absolutely not a salmon person. It's seared to perfection with a little crisp on the initial bit and a beautiful chimichurri sauce adorning the healthy portion. The drink menu is also something to brag about with a "something for everyone" vibe. This is my family's new Friday night dinner spot. The cream cheese mash potatoes and simply amazing and creamy, so smooth. The green beans taste like they were literally just picked from a farm, they had so much flavor and have a nice crisp snap to them. Desserts are also something I'd cross state line for if I had too. You're definitely paying for the ambience only. The food is not good! We ordered a Wagyu burger and a regular cheese burger. Both patties were extremely thin. Both burgers only came out with onions and pickles on them. No lettuce, no tomatoes. Nothing There was more bread from the bun than meat. Parking was odd, the main lot in front was full so we had to drive all the way around the building to park on gravel and then walk a ways back around the courts. So disappointed! Purchased private membership from Chris. After waiting for almost an hour for any type of service we cancelled our membership. Never received the bottle we ordered nor the drinks we ordered in the interim waiting for our bottle service. Sunday my wife and I decided to try the Commonwealth for brunch, I had heard from a friend the food was very good. He was spot on. Very elegant entrance with tall doors , high ceilings, and beautiful chandeliers. When I booked our reservation which is optional I picked the living room really not knowing what the different areas were. We were quickly lead to our room which we were the first ones there I got the sense and feeling of a really generic hotel lobby very sterile. Although I looked around to other areas of the restaurant and saw quite a contrast. Once we were seated Caitlyn our server quickly greeted us with a big smile and made us very comfortable. We ordered our beverages and since it was brunch I got a Bloody Mary my wife got coffee. Once our drinks were brought to us I asked for recommendations on the menu , I asked about the breakfast tacos my wife was interested in and inquired about their version of eggs Benedict which all sounded awesome. My wife got the Tacos and I ordered the Chicken Fried Waygu Steak and eggs! As we sipped on our beverages I was really impressed with the garnish and taste of the Bloody Mary it was incredibly delicious and spicy. I would definitely recommend. When our meals came they were nicely plated and looked delicious. The food tasted as good as it looked, although I was surprised that Toast didn't come with my steak and eggs. Also, I have to mention the breakfast potatoes nice and crispy and seasoned perfectly. During the meal Caitlyn checked on us frequently insuring that we had everything and was enjoying the meal. The atmosphere was relaxing and the decor was sleek and modern. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful in making selections and the food was great. In fact, I was impressed with the young man who delivered the food. He accidentally brushed the top of my straw that was in my water as he was placing some food on the table and immediately asked me if I wanted a new straw. I don't think I've ever encountered that before. Again, impressed with his awareness. My friend and I shared the loaded caso fries and the peachy flatbread. I highly recommend that combination!
