i had the most traumatizing experience of my life here. not only was dr michael morris rude and impatient despite me explaining i suffer from anxiety disorders and CPTSD, despite at least 5 novacane shots, i felt extreme traumatizing pain the entire procedure. i felt my nerves being ripped out of my tooth. i felt all the pieces being removed. the scraping and grinding inside my tooth. i felt it all. i was crying out in agony the whole time. asking them why it hurt so much. i had to beg for more novacane and he seemed annoyed at me. like its my fault im experiencing that?? at the end i told them, shaking and sobbing, that that was the worst experience of my life. and dr morris says "yeah it wasnt great for me either" really unprofessional. i had begged him at the beginning of the appointment to be gentle and patient with me and i dont feel like i received any of that from him. he acted as if i was an inconvenience for having anxiety. please dont see this doctor if you have anxiety he is not the right fit for you. i basically experienced medieval torture and had to pay nearly $2,000 out of pocket for it i thought root canals were supposed to be painless yet that was the worst pain i have ever experienced in my life. could barely walk after because i was so sick and shaky and panicked. read more

I'm delinquent in writing a review about the great care my mom recieved from Dr Tim Finkler.  My mom, who's 88 years old, received the most caring and effective treatment during her root canal procedure.  Historically she doesn't do well during/after any medical procedure, but at the skilled hands of Dr Finkler she had no problems at all.  Problem solved, no pain and months later no issues or required followup!  Dr Finkler was very patient with my mom, answered all her questions and made her feel completely at ease.  I can't recommend a better place for care than Commonwealth Endodontics.  Just the absolute best service with extremely caring and helpful staff. In April 2020, Dr. Vranas performed a root canal on me on the WRONG TOOTH. I didn't even know this type of mistake was possible. After the procedure, I spent 10 days in excruciating pain with half of my head swollen. I had to take 3 strong antibiotics to control the infection caused by Dr. Vranas's mistake/neglect. 10 days later he performed another root canal on the right tooth this time. As a result of the antibiotics treatment, I lost all good bacteria in my stomach, and ended up in hospital with very serious case of colitis. Commonwealth Endodontics forced me to pay for both root canals including the one done on the wrong tooth. My dental insurance investigated this matter and sided with me. I should not have been charged for a root canal done on the wrong tooth. The result of this investigation was a refund request from Commonwealth Endodontics to me and my dental insurance, and reimbursement of the cost of crown I now need on the tooth wrongly treated. Dr.Vranas and Commonwealth Endodontics are appealing this decision, which is their right, but it is another 60 days that I have to wait for the money I need for the crown. I know it will take a lot of work and the involvement of other institutions to get Commonwealth Endodontics to do right by me. I have experienced a little of it already, as I had to pay for both of the procedures right after it was done. They overcharged me over $400, and it took me over 2 months of calling to get that amount back. Go somewhere else. read more

Got root canal re-treatment done with dr.Morris (male) today - it has been a great experience. He explained everything before doing work, did amazing job with root canal (I didn't feel a thing and felt very comfortable the whole time) and then he ended with additional follow up on another tooth. I feel like office was a little old and outdated but that was not as important to me as them treating my root canal well. My out of pocket portion (after insurance) was only $130 something and I paid it before leaving their office. Overall very happy with them and will recommend them to anyone I know. read more

Go somewhere, anywhere else, it could not be worse. On my first visit ever work visit there, they sent an assistant out to collect the full copay and the policy's deductible for the year. They did NOT deduct the collection of the deductible from the bill, they wanted both. The assistant knew it was wrong, I knew it was wrong, she checked in the back, and came out again and insisted they told her to collect both with no credit. When time came and they had to send a refund check, they had the nerve to put on the check I had to cash it in 30 days or similar - yes, their mistake, but now I had to jump through hoops - when I had done all I could do to prevent the mistake. Oh, and no apology or admission of error. Nowadays, we would call it bullying as I tried to leave after a root canal. On my last visit, I had to have a recent root canal rechecked. I showed how tapping in a particular direction still hurts, they claimed the root canal was healed despite the evidence of the continuing pain. They also found nothing in an adjacent tooth, so they billed the re-exam as an exam of the adjacent tooth. So, the science seems to be: nothing here, nothing there, but that other tooth can be billed, so that must be the problem. Cha-ching! Meanwhile, the root canal tooth stills hurts! Science? Logic? Patient care? Healing? NOOOO-BILLING! And that still was not enough, on my second regular dentist exam of the year, I got rejected for too many exams. This Endo group, had billed, not only the non-painful tooth as an exam, but they billed it twice! Now, when caught, they claimed they would send the money back for the second exam of the same non-painful tooth on the same visit, but how could such a well run and knowledgeable billing office make a double billing mistake? Surely somebody else can do the work, go elsewhere! Here, you are just a billing source, not a patient to be healed. GO ELSEWHERE! I will have to... to get my PAID FOR root canal to stop hurting! read more

Had a visit with this office today after being referred by my dentist. The staff was very professional and I appreciate the Dr's honesty in not being able to save my tooth. However, I am in severe pain and can't have the tooth pulled until tomorrow at 3pm. When I asked for some pain reliever, I was told we don't "generally" prescribe narcotics. I am a registered nurse and am painfully aware of the opioid epidemic but I was asking for a few pills just to get me through until I could get some relief. I am quite frustrated that he was unwilling to help. Thankfully, my dentist who will be pulling my tooth gave me a prescription when I called and told him that the endodontist office refused to. read more

The Endodontist are good, and the office is clean. I would recommend them to friends..... but you are right about the office. I've been twice. Both times I have had to pay my portion up front (not unusual) but both times I was charged more than what insurance said I should have (which is unusual since they get pre-approval) and both times I waited for my refund which never came until I called and requested it. You would think a month after the insurance paid they would have balanced their book. Maybe they should be audited. I guess if most of their patients don't pay attention $50 here and there adds up to a nice bonus at the end of the year. read more

Dr. Gambrel doesn't deserve 1 star. She performed a root canal and did not remove all of the temporary filling. Once sealed with a crown, I was in extreme pain and my tooth became infected. She would not give me antibiotics. My new Dentist was shocked at the condition of this tooth and confirmed via X-Ray that the tooth was not properly cleaned out in the upper root. She immediately put me on antibiotics. The pain was so intense. Dr. Gambrel didn't care and was nasty. If you like pain and want to lose your teeth, she is happy to help. read more

Everyone I spoke with was super friendly! I had to sign up for Yelp just because of how shocked I was at all the kindness I received.

My experience with Dr. Gambrel was good, however, the practice asked me to pay upfront for the full charge of several hundred dollars for the procedure even though I had really good dental insurance coverage. Customer focused practices will not do this. To top things off, Commonwealth Endodontics did not submit all of the required claim detail necessary for my insurance to approve and process my claim. I had to follow up 2 more times with my insurance company and their billing department to get things resolved (hopefully). Bottom line, Commonwealth Endodontics received their money but 5 weeks later I'm still waiting for the up front money that I should never have had to pay! read more

I have had two root canals done by Dr Martinez. I received excellent care and would not want to go to any other endodontist. I highly recommend Dr Martinez---he was very informative,gentle, and professional. My original general practice dentist said my tooth could not be saved & had me scheduled to have my molar pulled with plan to have implant placed. I got second opinion from my husband's dentist---he & dr Martinez saved my tooth & now I have my tooth that is crowned. I am very pleased. read more
