The women's bathroom has had a leaking toilet for over a year

Definitely getting worse under the new management. The course has always been the selling point. Tom Doak! But fairways have many bare patches and greens are spotty. Still a good test of golf but now much more expensive. The new manager has no people skills and was hired to increase revenue so pass holders, Ladies' League, and general public tee times are severely limited because booking events is the new goal. The "clubhouse" is a dump. It's an old double-wide. Cramped check-in area; nothing close to a pro shop; facilities not maintained (see photo); no grill room for after golf...every city public course provides a far better before and after golf experience (Fox Hollow, City Park, Aurora Hills), and don't even think of comparing CG to privately owned public courses (Heritage Eagle Bend, Fossil Trace). So disappointing.

This place is great! A really nice and well run course with a friendly staff. The practice facility is top notch. Putting surface is smooth and fast. And there's two... The chipping area is really nice. The only downside side is the ball machine. I'm just not a fan of a small bucket for the price. It would be nice to have limitless balls for a fee. The course is great and I think it's one of the better in the area. Fun to play. Fair and challenging. Fast greens. I really like using the practice area and find it to be the most convenient in the general area. So I keep coming back for more. It's worth a visit and I think you will enjoy it at any skill level.

This was a real surprise for me, even though I heard the review from my Dad for quite some time. CommonGround is a Great Course, In fact, it is another Top-15 Public Course in Colorado, per Golf Magazine. This is where the old Mira Vista course used to be, which was the Lowry Air Force Base course, back before that became a new semi-urban development. They did well with the make over. All I can say is that it's hole after hole of good holes. Admittedly, I played on a perfect Autumn Afternoon and the course was in primo condition. Being out East a bit from Denver, you get the great views looking towards Downtown and then to the Rockies. Makes me twinge a bit to think of the beauty of that day. The course is fair but challenging. There aren't a lot of elevation changes, but yet it doesn't feel flat. If you play from the tips you are going to have some real work. You can also bring it up and keep it playable. It also doesn't force a lot of overly burdensome carries, particularly from the tees up front if someone in your group wants that experience. I can't quite tell you why this course is as good as it is, but it is consistently better than it seems like it should be - despite having no frills. Well worth it. Interesting, especially on a nice day.

Was in town and decided to enjoy the nice weather and play a round. After some searching came across this course and headed on over. We didn't have clubs so we had to get some rentals, I was expecting old beat up clubs but to my surprise they were a decent set. The course itself was beautiful and very well kept. Greens are super tough but it's challenging and fun. The roughs are rough rough so if you hit a ball too far to the sides you should probably start reaching for another ball. The only reason this course does not get 5 stars is the pace of play. We were behind a group of 5 and it took almost 4 hours to play 9 holes.

The errant trash bag greeting you on the fairway.

Great spot. People who work here are really nice and helpful. The prices are reasonable and the food and drink are priced well.

Tom Doak is an amazing golf course architect, and this is by far the cheapest course designed by him you'll find.

My kiddo just turned six and has been golfing for years now. I decided it was time to let him play a 'real adult course' after playing exclusively the First Tee par 3 courses around town. So first things first - the pro shop is out back of the building and a tiny bit tricky to locate the first time around. There's a bag drop out front, but doesn't need to be there. Just take your clubs straight back. The staff member who checked us in was very friendly. There is a discount for Junior golfers, but no such deal for veterans. All in all it was $25 to play (total for two of us) and we were able to tee off on time. The course is is great condition, and it is clear that they have a staff that cares about presentation and course management. The winding lake in the middle only brings water into play on a couple of the holes. The rest are pretty straight shots, and nothing is out of reach for most golfers. I think the longest was just short of 200 yards. We had a great day, and even though we had to wait at a number of tee boxes, the whole round only took aboutj 90 minutes. There is a very fun looking restaurant right as you step off the ninth green that we definitely want to try at some point, but it was a work day, so raincheck on that one. All in all, great experience.

Not as advertised. Not suitable for beginners. Awfully expensive. A bit disorganized…read more I received a lesson/fitting package as a gift. The gift giver was assured that the experience would be suitable for a beginner. Nope! Much of the lesson involved golf swing jargon that just isn't going to be understood by a beginner. Hey, if you know the difference between an open and closed shoulder in your backswing, or the difference between a strong and weak grip (hint: now I know it's nothing to do with how hard you grab the club), then you aren't a beginner, and GolfTec might work for you. Anyway, I stood open mouthed as my coach spewed utter jibberish at me. I stopped him early, and let him know I didn't understand the lingo. Didn't really help. Despite their claims, they really don't have a curriculum for beginners. Beginners need a bunch of instruction in set up and swing fundamentals that really don't benefit from GolfTec's (admittedly cool) elaborate video and computer swing tracking technology. Hey, I get that an advanced golfer, who swings consistently, might love the video breakdown looking for swing faults. A beginner is going to have enough self evident swing faults that this technology is overkill. It's like using a sledgehammer to push in a tack. And GolfTec is expensive. Anyone getting lessons on a weekly basis is definitely going to be paying GolfTec the equivalent of a car payment. Hey, I'm not saying it's not worth it. It's just that for beginners, there are cheaper and more efficient ways to learn the fundamentals. My friends who have had success with GolfTec are both far from beginner level, and are pretty indifferent to cost. If that describes you, great! You might love GolfTec. Me, not so much. Not as advertised.

This past week I had 2 one hour lessons with John that were game changers and I owe it all to him. My first one hour lesson was a putting lesson. He watched me putt for a few minutes and immediately saw my problem. I wasn't tucking my elbows into my body and once I was told I needed to do this, it changed everything. My second 1 hour lesson we worked on my golf swing. I have always struggled with making clean contact with the ball. I always brush the ground before hitting the ball. Again, John observed my swing for several minutes before figuring out the problem. He videoed my swing and shared with me. I was leaning back on my right foot too much when I needed to be leaning on my left foot. With this small change, I am now hitting the ball clean (not perfect yet, but an absolute game changer)!
